To be honest before the pandemic you were ok. Just shows as simple as a small hiccup in the system and a national company like yourselves cant handle anything dont know youre ar*e from your elbow. Hermes have been more reliable by far an thats saying somethin. Even now the UK us pretty much back to normal its still taking near a week for a 24/48hr service to arrive. Its disgusting. Hermes have been very reliable in comparison

I had very poor experience with Royal Mail when sent a piece of jewellery next day delivery, insured for £500. The parcel arrived cut, through the outer envelope and inner packaging, and taped to cover the cut mark on the outside. A piece of jewellery that was inside was removed. When reported it to Royal Mail there was no response for a long time, then I was asked for photographs which I have submitted as well. After all that I was replied back that they cannot see how the piece of jewellery could have been removed through 2 inches cut whole. I have escalated the case again and again and keep being asked to resent the same photos that I have submitted. It is outrageous. They take money for insuring the parcel, ask you what is inside, then remove it, deliver empty packaging and are not taking responsibility!

Poor service as usual from an out of date 2nd rate establishment. Coronavirus the excuse still!! after 6 months. No problems with Amazon delivering on time!!. Royal Mail attempted to deliver an item to me yesterday. I was not in so annoyingly it has gone back to the sorting office. Drove to the sorting office to collect it at 10.45am today. The sorting office is only open 8-10am. 2hrs - what a disgrace. With all the unfortunate newly unemployed I am sure that there will be lots of people happy to man the "customer service" (joke) at the sorting office, than the bone idle staff already employed!! Get into the 21st Century-stop using Coronavirus as an excuse for your terrible service!!

I don't usually go all the way out to write reviews unless the service is extremely good for a thumb up or extremely appalling that everyone needs to watch out. I am afraid this time is for the latter. I sent the tracked and signed international parcel to Myanmar and spent £22.27 . The website clearly said it takes 5-7 days. I was surprised as this was a covid recovery time. There were medicines and a few medical items for my mum who is locked down in Myanmar. We waited a week, no delivery. So I tried contacting royal mail. I wasted many hours on the phone but no one answered and only to receive a recorded message advising me to go to the tracking page. I tried the tracking page which said left from Swindon to Heathrow. Said there may be a delay. The item is on its way. So I waited. Still no delivery. Then I rang the local post office who said the item was sent looking at the same page I was looking at and said there might be a delay with covid. So I waited. Having waited for 3 weeks, I went to the post office and inquired. They said try the website. The website said the same thing from August (the day I sent the parcel) No update. I got no where. 26 working days (5 weeks) after the delivery I finally got through to someone answering the call. She simply said my item has been lost! Its over 21 days so classified as lost and if I am not happy I can fill in the claim form for which I will have to provide a receipt for every items in the box! She said my item was sent as an ordinary delivery for signature but not for tracking which was incorrect - I explained this was not the case as I sent through tracked and signed service and in the receipt it clearly states "tracked until it leaves the UK. Signature on delivery". I inquired where it was lost, if they would try relocating the item, I would much rather they send it even with the delay rather than me claiming back. For me the important thing is that my mum gets her medications, not this claim. She said its impossible to track it. A needle in a hay stack. The royal mail wouldn't do anything about it! Surely, for such a large mail delivery servicing company, there must be a way of tracking and identifying where the parcels are sent to. They won't even attempt to locate an item although the item was lost in the UK! Now I have to spend more time - looking for all the receipts (if I still have them), fill in the claim form and the whole ordeal- addition to all the troubles I have gone through. Its not fair for me or my mum. The tracking service is simply a shamble. It doesn't help for lost items. The royal mail support and customer service is shockingly appalling. Interesting thing is that the parcel was not lost in a third world country such as Myanmar. It was lost in the UK! Getting to speak to someone to find out what happened is a nightmare itself said aside their terrible service. I would strongly advise not to use Royal mail especially during covid outbreak as they are completely unreliable, inefficient, incompetent, unhelpful and will cost you time and money with a loss for you. All you will get it !I am afraid your item got lost"!

It’s the third time Im having a bad experience with them, when I’m shopping online now I’m very careful to not choose any company who works with them! Most of them are totally unprofessional with no experience!! The service is the most poor ever!

Royal Mail (snail) has been a bad service for many years. I would not use them but I am forced to have their awful unreliable service when accepting deliveries. On too man occasions now I have been let down by them. Too late , not arriving, and lost parcels. The tracking app is total useless. Get rid of RM and replace it with a propper service

Utterly pointless tracking system. It NEVER shows the details, stating 'number not recognised' and 'we will only show tracking when delivery is attempted'? What's the point? I won't need to check where it is as I'd have already received it? And why is Royal Mail not able to leave parcels anywhere but handed to you personally? They're Royally approved yet only have all the stupid restrictions and none of the benefits of any other delivery service.

Took two weeks to get to portugal then they handed it off to another carrier who lost my package and didn't know of it's existence. One hour wait time to speak to royal mail with a broken phone system whilst you get to listen to their excuses over corona. Absolutely disgustingly terrible. Royal mail needs to die I have never had such a terrible experience with a company ever. DO NOT USE INTERNATIONAL TRACK AND TRACE use a proper delivery company.

The "Royal" mail is the biggest joke of a company I have ever come across and can't seem to deliver to the right address 75% of the time - amazon never struggle with this. Granted my property is connected to another and is slightly confusing, however this by no means warrents delivery of most my parcels and letters, my drivers license, and a private covid test to next door. Absolute joke. I honestly wonder if the postman looks at the different address on the parcel and just says "eh close enough" and delivers it anyway. Not to mention their "tracked service" is just wrong. When one of my items went missing but said delivered they simply said that I have received the item because it states delivered and the GPS was "in the area" at the time - great amount of evidence there. Today was the salt on top of the wound where I received a package already opened. Rule of thumb: Just use amazon folks.

Ordered something online, was happy at the time that Royal Mail deliver items from the company I ordered from ....big mistake. Was meant to arrive Wednesday royal mail sent me a text in the morning telling me what time I'll receive it. Brilliant. Nope. Heard nothing from them and nothing arrived... Strange. Check my emails found my tracking code and somehow they sent it to the wrong area....I live in Eastbourne and it's in Haywards Heath apparently their mistake and will sent it over asap. It's coming to the end of the week and not once have they bothered to contact me and looking up the tracking code it's taken an ICEAGE to get back at Gatwick... I'm wondering if I should just pick it up , it would be a lot quicker then waiting for another 3- 5 days.

Consistently unreliable ! Referring to parcel delivery . They invite me by text to nominate a safeplace if I'm not going to be in . Reply : "As requested, if no one's home, we'll deliver your parcel to your chosen Safeplace, Backyard on:Tuesday 15 September 2020*. What do they do ? Disturb a disabled neighbour. Exactly what I didn't want to happen . Dont bother to try and complain, no facility to reply to text and have to jump thrpugh a load of hoops and set up an account to do this One of a series of unsatisfactory encounters . Take some lessons from Amazon - 1st class service for past 17yrs !!!

Increasingly the 48 hour service is 4 to 8 days more like it, even dare I say it HERMES and YODEL have even beet them for all the deliveries I get I can no longer rely on the ROYAL Mail. COVID used as an excuse, but funny the other delivery companies appear to be stepping up to the challenge. 3 days after the due date no update on the web site and doesn't even show in transit yet, useless system. No wonder everybody doesn't stay loyal if this is the rubbish service we are getting.

Spent half hour on the phone and then they hung up without even listening to me then i rang for another half hour a little annoyed and they tell me they can't tell me a time just that it can take up to seven o'clock both spoke like robots and did absolutely nothing to help me. Employ some people with actual people skills and perhaps i wouldn't be writing this review

They damaged an item that I had sold on ebay. The item was very well wrapped and fragile was written on each side of the box. However, the item arrived damaged, I have refunded the buyer in full. Royal mail feel it is acceptable to just refund my postage cost of £8.99 but no compensation for the item even though it was insured!! I have appealed this decision and I am waiting for a reply. I am absolutely appalled by Royal Mail. I will try my best to use a different courier from now on!

I was a regular user of eBay but over the past twelve months Royal Mail has become increasingly unreliable with really shocking delivery times, it was recently taking anything between 5-10 for its class post to arrive, much worse during and since the covid crisis. Signed for and recorded mail isn’t what it says as they are quite happy yo deliver both without a signature, and this was pre covid. On a brighter note, people are now beginning to wake up to the poor level of service offered by Royal Mail and their pathetic customer service and it’s my belief that the more of us who stop using them will eventually Reward us by mass redundancies and hopefully the demise of the Royal Mail itself. It truly doesn’t deserve the privileges bestowed upon it by the crown. Perhaps removing the royal warrant may help?????
