“Will continue to write on every review site, regards this mob.
Went into the Hamilton store ( Lanarkshire) 9 Aug, after the football, for a few beers.
Anyway the young assistant, refused to serve me, as she pointed out i was wearing a football top and asked me if i had a drink !!!
I said i had 1 pint before the game ( and at no point, instore did it say no football tops), and at this point she still refused to serve me.
Anyway the following day, after a number of phone calls ( customer services, store etc), i strongly advised Sinsburys to check their CCTV, and after a few days, they phone me and apologised at the way i was treated as it was proven i was sober.
All i got of Sainsburys, was my experience would help future customer relations, and basicaly tough regards any good will gestures.
I asked them for the price of the several phone calls i made, so i get a £5 gift card......which they can shove.........It would mean stepping into hell ( sorry their stores),
I wonder what training their staff get ?, i wonder what the liscening trade would say in Lanarkshire ?
They dont care about their customers as i found, and if you have and negative experiences their attitude is patronising. so my advice is STAY CLEAR !!!”
“The prices have raised on the main products I buy by about 50p which makes it harder to shop on a budget. In recent weeks half the freezer section has been completely empty. Not good value for money and they don't have a huge range of products to buy. Also on a few occasions fresh produce such as chicken have been put out frozen in the fridge section without warning to the customer who may be buying it to freeze to use at a later date which in turn can lead to food poisoning as its defrosting then being re-frozen by the customer without their knowledge.”
“lighting in 10 freezers is out, shelves messy, bought nappies for my Grandson which were wrong size, needed changing but Deputy manager refused.I had to contact head office who then phoned the Deputy Manager, Chris & told him he had to exchange them.Chris told head office that for THREE YEARS they had not been able to find the cause of the freezer fault etc etc. very unhappy customer”
“Delivery over 1hr late. Appx 15 items that were charged, but AWOL and no substitutes. Customer services advised that the Slough store said they couldn't resend items or substitutes as all were unavailable and no suitable alternatives. Items AWOL included - apples/cucumbers/plums/peaches/lemons/minced beef/chicken..... You get the idea?... Basic items that would be in stock or alternatives available! This Slough Store has previously provided completely random substitutes that they had seen as appropriate.... Eg a chocolate protein bar in substitution for a roll on deodorant.
Atrocious after care from Slough store who were responsible. Store manager assured call back ... 5 days and 16 customer service reps comms later and still not had a call or message from the responsible manager. Careless service. I did shop weekly with appx £150pw formany many years. I'm trialling ocado, Tesco and Amazon groceries over next few weeks. Will report back.”
“I placed an online order yesterday to be delivered today. I have instructed the driver to use the back street of my house as it has free parking and it would have been easier for him to deliver. He didn't follow it and because he parked where he wasn't supposed to he quickly carried my bags indoors and made me sign without giving me time to double check the order. As I have used this service before and never had a problem I didn't say anything and agreed for him to leave. I then checked my bags and realized that half of my shopping was missing (23 items to be precise) and I had things I didn't order delivered to me! Very disappointed I got in touch with the customer service and the girl helped me understanding what was missing and reorder it for me to be delivered tomorrow but she said I wasn't going to receive an email confirmation about the reorder....
I feel so disappointed that I don't think I will shop online with Saintsbury's again!”
“They used to be very good with home delivery shopping pre 2017. But these days they are awful. They have cut the range of organic and vegan products, heading the way of the cheap and nasty stores. Far worse though is ripping customers off when I get the final bill. I order on say a monday and by tuesday they claim the prices have gone up, so in effect the price you think you are paying is not the price you will be paying, only they dont tell you that. It's a bit like filling your car up at the forecourt at ** price, and by the time you have gone in to pay they *claim* oh the price just went up!!! farcical. They'll never see any of my money again. They also kill foxes around their stores. There was a massive petition recently over the culling of foxes at their crayford store. Evil people.”
“Went to collect from "click and collect", (Enfield, Crown Road), was told to go round the corner and press the buzzer. Was pressing like mad for about 15mins, only to be told the door was jammed and that I should of been pressing the buzzer located in the car park, but I was pressing the buzzer on the door. My point being when your coming out of the store and going round the corner you can not see the buzzer located in the car park, unless your parked there which I wasn't. I think Sainsburys should make themselves more clearer in future. Very ignoring 😱😦”
“Absolutely the worst online shopping experience I have ever had.
Placed order on Monday evening, 19June to deliver 20Jun.
Three days later still not delivered. Call online delivery store to be advdised they have no idea where my order is?
Called customer service who has no will to help their customer! Absolutely shocking!!!”
“Purchased a box so exotic solero ice cream lolly Thursday five minutes or less to home in car opened them out of box to put in freezer like putty inedible, telephoned Sainsburys straight away to inform them said they would check freezer out. Sunday went back to store they told me to get a replacement had no information about my previous telephone call. Picked a box out of middle of freezer this time opened them before leaving the store putty again. Telephoned head office they also not concerned but I will be in the future as how do we know other goods not also been re frozen.”
“I was a big supporter of Sainsbury's we spent atleast £200 there a week. They had assisted me for nearly a year with my rescue giving us unwanted veg and fruit.. one day they decided we wasnt important enough and gave it to someone else. We save local wildlife and spent several hundred a week on health care, and was extremely upset that we are not considered a worthy cause.”
“Used to shop at Sainsbury's at Bolton. Got fed up of complaining to them about dirty toilets, hand dryer permanently broken. Bad customer service. Rude staff . This store is a disgrace and gone down the pan. The list is endless !We Shop at Tesco now.”
“The overall standard in Sainsbury's supermarket is definitely on the decline, whilst prices continue to rise. My particular complaint today is regarding the Sainsbury's Cafe in Biddulph. We have had drinks in other Sainsbury's stores over the years, strong tea with two tea bags for my Husband in one pot, and standard one teabag for me. We have never had a problem with this until today. We were asked to pay 20p for one extra teabag. To say we were stunned is an understatement. This has never happened anywhere else including chains such as Costa, Weatherspoons, Tesco's and small cafes with as little as 2 tables. Our request has always been received with a smile. We are both still in shock, it's not so much being asked to pay extra for another teabag, but being asked to pay 20p is just outrageous. They probably pay less than 1p each but want to make big profits out of their customers come what may. All we were told when we complained was that if it was a chargeable commodity we would have to pay. We'll never again. Surely with the huge profits Sainsbury's make they don't need to charge like this, they'll be charging extra for milk and sugar and using the toilets next. If they are so strapped for cash they have to fleece the customers we'll lend them some to tide them over!!!”
“There is nothing at all I can say good about Sainsbury's the supermarket and as for online shopping what an absolute shambles when you ring the stores locally to complain they are rude disrespectful and all they want to do is say ring customer service what a Joke good luck kept hours waiting for an answere no more Sainsbury's for our family their loss Aldi gain. What a disgusting supermarket .”
“My shop was over 2 hours late when it was delivered the price had gone up to £86 I checked it out the night before at £80 I gave them some back at the door to put it back to the £80 they said they hadn't added my £10 voucher as the systems were down so I didn't even get my £10 off and I complained at the door about a pizza which was supposed to be frozen but was melting fast ..Well I was furious so when I unpacked the rest I found frozen fruit defrosted and Tomatoes soggy and bursting oranges that looked well past their best and in general all the fruit and veg was below the standard what I get from another online store I use...I gave you a chance Sainsburys you let me down badly why should I have to pay for mouldy veg ?? Well I don't have a car or else I would take it back to the store so I guess its the bin for it...I am very disappointed and I cant wait till next week when I get a quality shop delivered from my normal online company .”
“Doncaster Sainsburys delivery slot 10-11 am. It is now 11:45 with no call from the driver. There is no mention of any technical problems on website
Phone lines are not answered. Shop phone line not answered.
Website FAQ tells you what happens if you are out and they try to deliver. It does not tell you what happens if you are in and they do not deliver.
-----
If the computer system is down, how did Sainsburys manage to renew our pre-paid online delivery voucher at 04:30 am?
-----
Disabled customers cannot suddenly jump in the car and shop elsewhere.”
“First time shopping with sainsburys did a online shop that added up to £63 but when it came to day of delivery my shopping had gone up to £65 i was short of a pound in my bank so payment would nt go through they called me to ask me to try another card but i only had the one i did not realise that if items go up on day of delivery or if they have to give you substitutes they charge you more so i asked if they could take a few items off shopping so it adds upto my original total of £63 they said they could not do this and canceled my order which i needed they said once shopping had been picked its hard to go back and amend it which i understand but they were so quick to cancel and not try n help but guess its easier for them to put all my shopping back instead of one or two items lol does not make sense did a online shop with asda and got it delivered next morning no problems as usual with asda but have been put off shopping with sainsburys it was more expensive any way will stick with asda from now on”
“Scammers of the highest order and the worst online retailer I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. I usually order my shopping online and thought I would give sainsbury's a bite of the cherry. Online shops are by definitions usually our big fortnightly shops. They sent out potatoes and other fresh produce with use/eat by dates of the same day, or next day. But by far the WORST thing that happened was to learn they were adding 20p here, 20p there to many of the non fresh products. So the price you THOUGHT you were paying, and indeed signed up for, is actually nothing like the price you will end up paying. Its classic scam and one which ensures I wont be using the crooks sainsburys ever again, or any of their other shill companies like Argos. Can you imagine buying petrol at a garage and its states £1.20per litre, and then when you go to pay they say oh no actually its gone up to £125 per litre. Who on earth would suffer such a scam. Imagine that ripoff times 100000 customers daily. The saps are coining it in. Another good old British brand that deserves to go to the dogs along with the trash crooks who run it. I made an official complaint to executive level and was hounded with telephone calls which I ignored. And finally a letter saying essentially get stuffed. I shall now be taking my concerns to trading standards and the papers. CHECK YOUR BILLS if you shop with the scammers.”

“I was accused of stealing a carrier bag threatened with violence and abused by a girl at the self service checkout and the girl is still working on the checkout was told by customer service the incident had been dealt with how is she still working there using Tesco now”
“I ordered wine at 25% discount.Order confirmed and delivery date agreed.Wine did not arrive ,to be FOLLOWED by an e mail saying order cancelled.( not by me ).I then rang them, taking 17 mins to talk to a real person.to be informed that as they had been out of stock ( although they would be in stock today ) they would only reinstate the order at the original 25% extra price and would not honour the previous order even though it was them that cancelled it. I use sainsburys wine on line a lot but will `NOT be using them again.”
