“They decided to cancel my online shopping order because apparently they don't deliver in my area even thought 3 days ago my neighbour had a grocery delivery. Terrible customer service and attitude”
“So you changed your nice chicken kievs made by so they say sainsbury which wasn't to bad to these terrible replacement horrible tasteless and cheap tasting I'll be going else ware”
“1st online shop with Sainsbury's and never again. Absolutely terrible service as well as customer service. Used 'click and collect' and when I came to collect my groceries the driver wasn't there. I was told this order would automatically be cancelled and I would get a refund within 3-5 days. I made a complaint and as a result I was given a voucher so I decided to give Sainsbury's another go and ordered some groceries again but this time got them delivered. On top of the charge for the 2nd order, Sainrbury's also charged me the full amount for the first order that was over £60. A shop that was supposed to cost me just over £22, actually cost me £120!!! 8 days, 3 transactions on my statement and not a single refund! Customer service is absolutely useless too. AVOID!”
“Roughly 60 years old, black hair, overseeing the self check outs this member of staff grabbed my 11 months olds feet and made a rude comment about him not wearing any shoes. This startled my son as he has never before been grabbed by a stranger. I was deeply offended and upset that a member of staff thought it ok to touch a customers child either in a nice way or in this case in a rude and aggresaive manor. If in the street i would have got the police involved. Never going back.”
“I bought a £10 voucher at Sainsbury’s and when I tried to redeem it on Skype it turned out to be out of date. When I went to the customer service they refused to change the voucher or give me a refund because the transaction was successful. They said I should contact Skype. Skype confirmed that the voucher had expired and sent me the confirmation and the expiry date.
I went back to the customer service, spoke to the manager, and they gave me another voucher ‘as a gift’ as they said. I had the same problem with it.
I phoned the central office and all they said was because the transaction was successful they couldn’t refund the money. I asked them, if you buy faulty goods can you not return them because the transaction was successful? I couldn’t get any sense from them.
I wrote a letter to the complaint department with copies of the receipt and emails from Skype and sent it by special delivery 6 weeks ago. I got no response.
I don’t expect to get my money back and I wasted so much time! At least I want to warn other people. This is the way they deal with customers.
What a shame on Sainsbury’s!!!”
“Oh dear. Poor selection in Staines. A few items are advertised online but they don't have them in store. Customer service was not apologetic. They just said that some stores stock this others don't. Also, why is Sainsbury so expensive? I think Waitrose is cheaper for numerous items.”
“Glasgow home delivery now i hour more than the slot we had chosen and no sign of any driver yet. One call from the store an hour ago to say that they would be a few minutes late. Half an hour later a call from me to customer service said they would be an hour late. Looks like too few drivers for a busy night but in evening delivery slots its important toget it right for families.”
“Sainsburys bank basically robbed me, £17 per month 1st year home insurance, up to £28 per month in the second year with no claims at all. Then this time they wanted to charge me £36 per month, again I've made no claims at all.”
“Sainsbury's is a shadow of its former self. The company now pays little attention to the opinion of its customers or staff. Products are removed from ranges without any information being given to staff as to the reasons for the decision. Staff have told me that there is no longer the facility for them to comment online about product ranges. Staff have no control and are therefore uninterested. You get replies like these I heard I heard from the bakery in my local store when I queried the removal of the 75p wholemeal country loaf"I don't know why it has gone." "We have no say in what happens." Similarly customers can no longer record comments in store - they must phone a central customer care centre and then receive some bland reassurance that they will get a comment.
Wake up Sainsbury's! Waitrose has done well in recent years in part at least because their staff know about the products their department sells. They are interested and are proud of their store's reputation.”
“Had a delivery today numerous items missing from the Ipswich depot including tomato ketchup a cup no newspapers avocado rotten driver response not my fault not my problem phoned to complain was promised a phone call from a manager didn't call me back had a similar problem a few weeks ago including potatoes delivered that were green and rotten”
“Will continue to write on every review site, regards this mob.
Went into the Hamilton store ( Lanarkshire) 9 Aug, after the football, for a few beers.
Anyway the young assistant, refused to serve me, as she pointed out i was wearing a football top and asked me if i had a drink !!!
I said i had 1 pint before the game ( and at no point, instore did it say no football tops), and at this point she still refused to serve me.
Anyway the following day, after a number of phone calls ( customer services, store etc), i strongly advised Sinsburys to check their CCTV, and after a few days, they phone me and apologised at the way i was treated as it was proven i was sober.
All i got of Sainsburys, was my experience would help future customer relations, and basicaly tough regards any good will gestures.
I asked them for the price of the several phone calls i made, so i get a £5 gift card......which they can shove.........It would mean stepping into hell ( sorry their stores),
I wonder what training their staff get ?, i wonder what the liscening trade would say in Lanarkshire ?
They dont care about their customers as i found, and if you have and negative experiences their attitude is patronising. so my advice is STAY CLEAR !!!”
“The prices have raised on the main products I buy by about 50p which makes it harder to shop on a budget. In recent weeks half the freezer section has been completely empty. Not good value for money and they don't have a huge range of products to buy. Also on a few occasions fresh produce such as chicken have been put out frozen in the fridge section without warning to the customer who may be buying it to freeze to use at a later date which in turn can lead to food poisoning as its defrosting then being re-frozen by the customer without their knowledge.”
“lighting in 10 freezers is out, shelves messy, bought nappies for my Grandson which were wrong size, needed changing but Deputy manager refused.I had to contact head office who then phoned the Deputy Manager, Chris & told him he had to exchange them.Chris told head office that for THREE YEARS they had not been able to find the cause of the freezer fault etc etc. very unhappy customer”
“Delivery over 1hr late. Appx 15 items that were charged, but AWOL and no substitutes. Customer services advised that the Slough store said they couldn't resend items or substitutes as all were unavailable and no suitable alternatives. Items AWOL included - apples/cucumbers/plums/peaches/lemons/minced beef/chicken..... You get the idea?... Basic items that would be in stock or alternatives available! This Slough Store has previously provided completely random substitutes that they had seen as appropriate.... Eg a chocolate protein bar in substitution for a roll on deodorant.
Atrocious after care from Slough store who were responsible. Store manager assured call back ... 5 days and 16 customer service reps comms later and still not had a call or message from the responsible manager. Careless service. I did shop weekly with appx £150pw formany many years. I'm trialling ocado, Tesco and Amazon groceries over next few weeks. Will report back.”
“I placed an online order yesterday to be delivered today. I have instructed the driver to use the back street of my house as it has free parking and it would have been easier for him to deliver. He didn't follow it and because he parked where he wasn't supposed to he quickly carried my bags indoors and made me sign without giving me time to double check the order. As I have used this service before and never had a problem I didn't say anything and agreed for him to leave. I then checked my bags and realized that half of my shopping was missing (23 items to be precise) and I had things I didn't order delivered to me! Very disappointed I got in touch with the customer service and the girl helped me understanding what was missing and reorder it for me to be delivered tomorrow but she said I wasn't going to receive an email confirmation about the reorder....
I feel so disappointed that I don't think I will shop online with Saintsbury's again!”
“They used to be very good with home delivery shopping pre 2017. But these days they are awful. They have cut the range of organic and vegan products, heading the way of the cheap and nasty stores. Far worse though is ripping customers off when I get the final bill. I order on say a monday and by tuesday they claim the prices have gone up, so in effect the price you think you are paying is not the price you will be paying, only they dont tell you that. It's a bit like filling your car up at the forecourt at ** price, and by the time you have gone in to pay they *claim* oh the price just went up!!! farcical. They'll never see any of my money again. They also kill foxes around their stores. There was a massive petition recently over the culling of foxes at their crayford store. Evil people.”
