There is a huge and gaping chasm between Sarah Raven’s glorious catalogues and what is actually dispatched to customers. My £50 order contained insipid and spindly plants that had all but given up the will to live and which bore little or no resemblance to what was expected. How they passed any kind of quality control before being dispatched is beyond me. Is no one tasked with checking things? Calls to customer services were answered by a string of people who had little idea of how to properly deal with an unhappy but very keen gardener who has spent a small fortune with SR in recent years. Sorry, but avoid is my top tip. You’ll probably do better for many things in your local supermarket and for a fraction of the price!

I'm a huge fan of Sarah Raven I think her cut flowers are truly aspirational. However, this is my second experience of waiting weeks for an order. She charges the same as other online companies and they manage to get the deliveries shipped to you within a week. I think she needs to employ more staff as this is truly unacce

Several orders... Tubers arrived with gall Tubers qrrived broken and bot viable Aubergines arrived drenched and rotted Comsot arrived behaded and shriveled. One missing. Delivery sat for 2 days before it said it would arrive Never again.

Ordered over a month ago with an anticipated despatch date of 2 weeks. No courtesy letter explaining delay. It took 2 phone calls and a long waiting time to speak to somebody and surprise surprise they are being posted today! We will see. What a shame that beautiful photography and good marketing material is not backed up by this company

Truly appalling service and if there were a no star rating they would be getting it! Ordered 3 gift boxes of bulbs mid September for a relative, all were shown as in stock with a delivery date of late September. Two months later they were still showing as 'Awaiting Dispatch'. After 3 separate phone calls during this time I had been told they were held up at customs/ staff illness/returned due to poor quality etc. etc. Not surprisingly I am still awaiting a reply to my e-mail requesting information on my order from 9 days ago. On 23rd. November I had an e-mail saying my order was being dispatched but on reading further it was clear that only part of the order had been shipped and one gift box was still 'Awaiting Dispatch'. Today when I checked My Orders to see any progress I was amazed to find it showed the payment for the outstanding box of bulbs had been refunded - without any notification, explanation or apology. If I hadn't checked on the website I would still be waiting. What a shambolic way to do business and a total lack of customer care! It really feels like 'take the money and run'. At no time between ordering and finding out today that part of my order had been refunded did I receive any notification from them updating me on delivery times/ apologising for the delay of almost two and a half months or even letting me know that they were unable to supply part of my order and refunding me. They really need to get their act together and sort out their supply chains, their advertised delivery dates and most importantly their communication with customers. It is not enough to have a flashy brochure, their service needs to match it. In this case particularly, as on previous occasions I feel it has fallen woefully short and they have lost one more customer for good.

Appalling service. I ordered a gift set of tulip bulbs in September for a friend's birthday in November. They were apparently in stock and due to be delivered within 2 weeks. When I hadn't heard anything by the beginning of November I contacted them and was told the order would be despatched within 2 weeks. Now I have had a very brief email saying they have cancelled the order completely. Short apology with no offer of any sort of compensation. Extremely disappointed. Have found them in the past to be pricey and slow to deliver but products are nicely presented so ordered again as I wanted a special birthday present. I will certainly not be buying from them again. There are plenty of other companies out there who, even with the difficulties associated with covid and brexit, can supply high quality products in a timely fashion. Would advise anyone to avoid this company.

Sarah Raven customer service is woefully inadequate and the bold claims made about delivery dates appear to be works of fiction. I feel so sorry for the staff left to deal with disgruntled customers like me.

Having ordered my bulbs in September, I received delivery of part of the order at the end of October. No explanation was provided as to the rest of the order and I had to ring customer services to check whether there was an error. I was advised that orders are sometimes split, although the person I spoke to was unable to provide an explanation as to why. We are now in November and my pansies and bulbs are sat awaiting the delivery of the remaining tulip bulbs to complete the mixed display promoted in the catalogue. The catalogue is very seductive, but I won’t be ordering again - deliveries are just too slow.

This company has a truly baffling approach to customer service. I ordered some live plants that were due to arrive in mid-September. They arrived a month late, and there is literally zero communication from the company about why that was or when my order would arrive. I called them up (twice!) and was told by the first person: "We did send you emails notifying you." (They most certainly did not, and yes, I checked my spam.) The second time I phoned to chase my order I was told they "turned off" the notification emails .... ? They wouldn't explain more about that. Neither of the people I spoke to seemed to register any issue or problem with the fact I was using my own time to chase an order that was a month late. I understand that sometimes live plants may not hew to a pre-determined timeline, but notifying your customers of when that my be is quite literally the least you can do? Don't waste your time (literally) with this company.

The catalogue and accompanying information is fine- prices are high and promised delivery looks reasonable. However for the second time this year actual delivery (tomato plants and autumn planting bulbs) is far too late. I won't be bitten again- there is plenty of competition in this market so I imagine there will be lots of other departing customers.

Expect a long wait for bulbs that the website says are in stock. I have had this problem with plants ordered from Sara Raven in the past too and by the time they arrive the ideal planting time has passed. As many others have commented SR quick to take payment, but very slow to deliver. Customer service has declined significantly over the past couple of years despite assurances from Sara Raven that this would improve.

Quick to take payment, slow to deliver. Delivery dates advertised are not to be trusted. 4 weeks from placing my order and customer service unable to tell me when I might receive even 1 of the items. If my name was used to promote this Company, I would be embarrassed!

Very dissatisfied with the order I received. As an enthusiastic and good gardener hardly anything has survived despite my best efforts. I will never purchase from her company again. A complete waste of time.

Price of some of some seeds is ridiculous. £5.50 for 25 Broccoli Apollo seeds? Pelargoniums listed as young plants for £10.50 are little more than rooted cuttings. Used to be a big fan but will shop elsewhere now

Shocking quality… two ordered in two days & both shocking. Three dead tomatoes & three nepita … two pots fine, third pot contained nothing but a wort… dreadful.. simple appalling quality

Ordered plants, no delivery, no response to emails to ask about delivery, 6 weeks on managed to get through on the phone after a 15 minute wait to be told my plants were out of stock. Had to ask for a refund! Awful customer service and awful communication. Won't be using them again.

Placed an order for 2 plants on 19th of April with at the time delivery was stated to be early May. No plants arrived and not contacted to say why. Expected delivery date now been change 6 times and only found this out by looking at the plant that I ordered on their website. Did email and got an auto response saying they too busy and don't expect a proper reply for 10 working days. Tried looking on their website which now says I haven't placed an order along with message saying they had website problems so doing new website and hope to sort soon. When finally did get hold of someone, all I got was delay is due to weather. Feel that they are not looking after their customers and no customers support yet I am still getting their emails encouraging me to order more plants. Would be nice to get the once I ordered 1st
