Order number 1684276. How lovely to open the Telegraph this morning and to see Sarah Raven’s smug face smiling at me from her beautiful garden - whilst her over promoted business takes advantage of thousands of disappointed customers during Covid 19. When I placed my order with Sarah Raven over a month ago the plant was showing as ‘in stock’, which means, by their own terms, it should have been available for dispatch within 2-4 weeks. So where is it?! Apparently ‘poor’ Sarah Raven has had so many orders that they are overwhelmed and massively delayed in fulfilling them. Unlike more responsible - and less greedy - online plant sellers, Sarah Raven did not start to restrict their daily order numbers to ensure a reasonable delivery time. As many have stated here, and with one or two other online plant suppliers, Sarah Raven has also totally shut down the ability to communicate with them in any reasonable way. Emailing them, as I have, yields no response. However we all note that they are dedicating staff time in order to reply to (or I am sure delete) bad reviews. Disgraceful. You should be concerned about your customers waiting for weeks on end for deliveries. So Sarah, I would like you to fulfil my order please? Stop using Covid19 as an excuse for disgusting service. You are not key workers. You sell plants. Stop being greedy and get on with it. I will now be writing to the Telegraph, Gardeners’ World and other publications to point them to all the terrible reviews and to show them how greedy and grabbing Sarah Raven’s business is in taking more orders than it can fulfil and that her media image is not at all what her business represents. WARNING. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM SARAH RAVEN.

Having been a customer for years I'm disappointed - ordered £150+ with of bulbs in total and an order for a 90 bulb collection was not delivered (although all paid for). Now told that that collection is out of stock... spent a month preparing ground for it. When I contacted them the first person I spoke to didn't seem interested - not even an offer of a refund! Value of bulbs is 46.50... called again and wanted to know how they are going to resolve it. Apparently 'someone from senior management is going to call me'. I hope so. Its put me right off after so many years.

No customer service. Takes 2 weeks (if that) to respond to queries. The second part of my order has never arrived and they don't even have a phone line. Will never use again - stick to Gardening Express.

My plants arrived in an awful state all yellow and dying. I emailed the same day and was told they would send me replacements. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I emailed again and was told that they were not.ordered and were now out of stock. I have sent numerous emails and have just been told they will refund me. No apology for them not being reordered straight away. Ruined my plan for my garden this year. Shocking customer service and quality of plants. I have had plants from S R for over 10 years and the quality has got worse over the last 4 years. Won’t be getting anything else from them any more.

Hazel cells ordered in April to quickly fill and get going in a prepared gap in a mixed hedge - delivery cited and paid for as in a few days - finally arrived 14 June, hight of heat wave, all leaves crisped, no msg or idea as to still alive, near dead or dead. No reason given for such ridiculous delay during planting season in email response to my eventual complaint 2 weeks ago, when last tracking check showed picking date would be end June. Plants should have been ready to go when advertised. Hazel cells still being advertised on website today, again with no notice of delay to unsuspecting! Impossible time-wasting service and a great disappointment.

I received no confirmation email or order number but they took the money on my card. I luckily only ordered one dahlia plant. I’ve tried to contact them but having no order number makes it impossible by email and they have closed their phone line. I shall never ever use them again, to add insult to injury their emails encouraging you to buy with offers on plants keep landing in my inbox.

I think the 28% recommendation rating for Sarah Raven at the top of this page says it all. If I was a consumer business and I took 3 weeks to respond to emails from customers, whilst at the same time providing no contact telephone number for customers to call, I would not be in business very long. They do, however, provide an order telephone number which suggests they are all about bringing in as much money from new business as possible, whilst abdicating responsibility for any follow up customer service. This is a surefire way to lose the many dedicated customers you already have and to me is just so short sighted. I just spoke to a lovely, but understandably frustrated and exasperated sales person, who told me she cannot do anything about existing orders. She clearly spends her days fielding calls from angry customers just trying to get some form of response - anything - from the customer services team. It is really unacceptable for SR to say on the website that they have suspended their phone lines and can only be contacted by email when it takes weeks for them to respond. My first email about a non viable product was sent to customer services on Apr 24th. The first response from SR was almost 3 weeks later on May 13th. I received a confirmation the following day that a replacement had been ordered. Since then, no order has arrived and there's been no response to the follow up email I sent on June 2nd, to find out the status of my order. When I tried to track it online, it came back with 'no order found'. The upshot - it's coming up to 2 months since I first contacted SR and my query and order status remain unresolved. I guess my only option is to email AGAIN and hope someone responds. It's incredibly frustrating and just downright contemptuous of customers. Really Sarah Raven please do better.

Terrible customer service. Placed plant order in April - communication poor - date keeps moving. I can't get to speak to anyone despite emailing a week ago. I requested a refund but no response. Unable to contact by telephone. I rang the Sales line and was told 'to wait and see'. Just not good enough. Won't be using again.

This is my third attempt to contact by email. The first email was acknowledged on 23 May, the second on 29 May. No response so far. I have also phoned and the message is always the office opens again tomorrow at 9am, which it never does. I am very unhappy with the service from Sarah Raven. The order was promised in early May. To date I have received 25% of the the order, despite your tracking system saying the full order has been dispatched. The Cosmos with Cool collection1 x 20 seedlings is all that has arrived. We have not received Cosmos bipinnatus Dazzler 4 x 10 seedlings or Cosmos and Ammi selection 1 x 20 seedlings. We are now unable to take any further deliveries until 25 th June, as we are away on holiday from tomorrow. I suggest the only option is to cancel the outstanding plants and credit my card accordingly. The lack of after sales service is the worst I have ever experienced.

Plants arrived in very poor condition in separate deliveries over the last 8 weeks or so . Customer service is appalling . Having used the company for many years I will not be doing so again .

1 star because you can't give 0 stars. Order delayed, delivery arrived eventually, but incomplete. Plant quality of what was delivered poor. They were so dry and bent in half. I've soaked in a jam jar to see if I can recover them. Order closed without delivering in full. I'm still expecting another 5 plants that are apparently not coming. Customer services phone lines closed as they have too many complaints to handle - which is very telling. Don't order from them, spend your money elsewhere.

Wrong plant sent out. Others to follow but no appearance.Numerous emails and direct call to customer service to rectify and clarify delivery address. Three messages from yodel to say plants were being delivered. Never turned up on each occasion. Excellent in past but abysmal now. Company grown too big and cannot meet demand after promotions. Sadly that will be my last order. ( if it is ever completed).

I have used the company for years without any problems but this year I have had delivery after delivery of damaged goods, plants not packaged properly and thrown about in transit. Delivery dates keep being put back and plants expected at the start of May are now due for delivery in June. Customer service is by chat message only and it takes days for a response. Something has gone terribly wrong with this company and I don’t think I will be using them in future.

I'm suprised they have 2.6* reviews when they send out dead plants for a premium price!!! Absolutely appalling company and should be made to refund every single unhappy customer!!!

Order fails to turn up. 40 minutes to talk to customer service. Order resent and plug plants, dry, withered or dead! Complained again. Another lot sent and in similar condition.

Customer service system is horrendous. Emailed weeks ago about a missing order and no reply. I managed to speak to someone after 1 hour wait who said they were in stock. 2 weeks later still no plants. Tried to phone a few times and either closed for training or closed for them catching up on their emails. I have emailed again as I haven’t time to sit on the phone to wait a hour to speak to someone but still no reply. Once this order is complete I will never use them again. Very disappointed.

Ordered a tomato plant collection of 5 varieties but it only 3 varieties sent and no explanation or apology for not sending the 2 varieties that I actually wanted. Have sent 2 emails to customer services over the last 2 weeks and no response. Shocking customer service. Won’t be using them again unfortunately.. she needs to concentrate on her company and not being featured in the Country Living magazine

Reading the recent comments and from my personal experience I just hope this company goes bust because they don’t take their customers seriously. It was very good during many years but ripping off customers seems their new strategy: huge delays in receiving plants which are not what you ordered or dead.

Awful customer service! My elderly mother purchased £650 worth of massively over priced Christmas gifts for her family over the phone as she can’t make it to the shops. Trying to stop the order and return items hasn’t been easy and you are kept waiting and waiting for customer services to get back to you. ☹️
