“Terrible customer service, back orders continuously get pushed further out, and are charging me $9 shipping for a $10 pair of socks because I cancelled the boots that were going to take 8 weeks to get here instead of 6 weeks as promised.”
“I included photos (I purchased the olive green hat from Sportsman’s Guide) because I wanted possible customers to see how absurd the explanation was for why this vendor didn't pay for return shipping nor exchange this hat. As you can see, I already have 3 sherpa hats and I've had 2 others that aren't in the photos. 30 minutes after I received the hat, I opened and saw how 1) loose fur filled the plastic bag it came in and 2) that any time I touched fur on the hat, it came off. I then contacted this vendor to ask if an exchange can be made and I provided the reason and photos as I was informed on a service chat that the only way I could receive free return shipping was if I could show the product is defective. The email reply from Sportsman’s Guide was that "this looks like there may have been some bad tanning."... BAD TANNING. He also asked if I would like to keep the hat with a $10 returned to me. No, I want a better quality hat. Anyone looking at the photos can see the hat is shedding fur. That was the main reason for including the other hats for comparison. And I've had the black hat for over 2 years. So I sent the hat back, only to see they're charging me for the shipping, which they're taking from the refund. I hate to make the hat look bad in the review because overall, the hats are very good quality. Again, I've purchased 5. It's just this one didn't meet quality expectations and was followed by worse customer service. I will NEVER purchase or advise anyone to purchase anything from this company. They don't hold themselves accountable for the products they send to customers.”
“I purchased around $1100 worth of gear from them (Bolderton Tree stand, backpack, gloves, Ameristep ground blind) and while putting together the ladder stand, I notice there are missing components. I contacted SG but they pointed me to their vendor Sniper Treestands. I made contact but Sniper hasn’t responded so I reach back out to SG for customer service and I’m told they can’t do anything and once again point me to the non responsive vendor. Since this is a non returnable item, I’m pretty much hosed on being able to use it unless I figure out a way to continue putting it together. This was a wasted $350. Given the poor customer service from both companies, I won’t be doing any future business with them. They, SG couldn’t care less about this situation. I would give them 0 stars if it were possible.”
“Sportsman's Guide — Item #705550 Winchester, NATO 9mm Luger, 124 Grain, FMJ, 1, 000 Rounds with Ammo Can was Placed on order 7-29-20... This was placed on Back Order again and again was pushed out for months and months, now Expected Ship Date 6/4/2022... while at the same time SG continues to sell 9MM ammo. Is this a Bait and Switch action??? Should a Class Action Law Suit be filed?? Other customers are getting the same run around. NOT HAPPY. I also see that many other customers have also filed similar complaints with BBB and other Complaint WebSites about SG.”
“Purchased a fireplace space heater from Sportsman , tracking my order I watched it go from Wisconsin to Chicago to Niles. Estimated delivery date was Oct 20th today is the 28th and based on the FedEx Tracking number , my order has been on a FedEx vehicle for delivery since the 26th. Call customers service and was told it's a 6 hour wait, ( B.S). Tried to cancel twice and I was told to either deny package when it arrive or just send it back. How can I deny something that was never sent? This place is a SCAM, customer service is to stall you only, no customers satisfaction............ I do no want the item all I want is to be refunded . “Ordered 2 pair of boots for $89.99 each. Returned one pair. SG sail they would refund the $89.99 - $7.50 for shipping, which would be 82.49. My refund was 62.49. Calle to see what happened to the $20. They claimed I used a coupon, which I did not, then said I forgot to include shipping, which makes no sense. No refund the the $20. Never, ever, again!”
“Tried to get treestand roofs twice. Customer service representative said I would get 2 and one on back order twice. Had both orders canceled. Very disappointed. Tried to talk to Customer service supervisor said they would call back never did. I really thinking hard to renew membership. Never had this happen before been member for a number of years.”
“It is hard to do returns. They charge you for a shipping label. Plus most things they sell are excluded from returns, and my favorite is they tell you to contact the manufacturer with product failures.”

I get emails them changing the ship dates that if I don't reply the order will be cancelled. I have been replying to keep the orders and I just learned today my August order is cancelled. I know I replied and now it goes to a manager weather to reinstate the order. Not happy with these two orders not being shipped.”
“Do not shop here. I’ve had ammo on back order for over a year and it keeps getting pushed back. They just don’t want to sell it at the original price, since ammo has gone up. They just finally cancelled my order without notifying me. Been waiting a year….such a disappointment. Also basically impossible to ever get a hold of someone, and when you do they are super rude. “Placed several orders nearly 2 months ago including sone during sale events. Thousands of dollars gone. They Sportsmans Guide won't ship any of it and they won't refund. Out thousands. About to file suit. This is happening a lot starting around April especially. Over $4000 worth of stuff and they took the money and some stuff shipped out and was "returned due to sellers request" didn't even think that is possible. Don't think it is. “This company canceled my order after I had waiting three months on my rifle. The ffl dealer want preferred only after they were ready to send the rifle to me. I has did my due diligence as a customer when I placed the order and called both companies to make sure they did business and both checked out ok! They canceled when it was time to send me my Rifle saying they didn’t send it in time.. oh wait we can reorder for you but you’ll have to wait another two months... Horrible experience with this company and their policies! You think being a member they would take care of you!? Well they lost me as a member and a customer...! Boo to Sportsman Guide!
