“Tippsy is awesome. Sake outside of Japan is either just not as good or too expensive. With Tippsy, high quality, local sake is made available and affordable. The only criticism I have is that I wish the boxes had a little more variety (eg instead of 3 dry sakes in one box, perhaps mix in a sweeter one or a nigori).”

“I absolutely love Tippsy! I have a great selection of wonderful sakes to choose from and the flavor profiles are really helpful. I have some super favorites that I can always get ( like Hawk in the Heavens, Tears of Dawn and Pearls of Simplicity) But the flavor profiles have never led me astray and allowed me to taste some I may never have tried otherwise like Night Swim, Gold Muroka, and Living Jewel. I may technically still be a sake novice; but I sure as heck am enjoying the homework! And since I work from home, the sign on delivery isn’t an issue at all. My only worry is what the UPS man thinks of me now!”

“Going to a liquor store and looking for sake is a terrible experience. The selection is usually poor, and if you don’t read Japanese, you have no idea what’s in the bottle, other than the processing classification. Tippsy has been an amazing find for me. I’m trying sake from all over Japan, I get info & education on each bottle, and it’s delivered to my door!
The bottles are the typical 350ml size you’d purchase at a restaurant or bar, and each one has a detailed card so you know what you’re getting into before you crack it open. It’s a good amount to share with someone over an appetizer, or to enjoy alone over a full meal. Tasting notes and pairings are fantastic. I actually keep my cards, and write more notes on them: date I enjoyed, what I ate with it, my thoughts, etc.
I wish I didn’t have to be home to sign for it, but Tippsy does a great job with shipping notices too, so I know exactly when to be home.”
