Would never order off line again. Had confirmation that items had been sent out but they never arrived. To be told they had been returned when I rang up. Was told they would be posted again asap, only to receive an email to say they were out of stock! Emailed in to ask for a refund as was 5 days before Christmas. Refund as honoured. Defeats the object of shopping online!

Ordered items for Christmas with standard delivery of about 5 working days. When they didn't arrive I decided to check where they were only to find out that some items in my order were out of stock and TJ Hughes hadn't told me! I then emailed them to cancel the order and low and behold, they have the items and can send them. No one apologised or even replied to my email, they simply sent the order. Would i buy from them again? No. Would I recommend them? No. I could have bought the items for alternative online providers and that is what I will do next time.

Item delivered damaged, emailed & was promised next day delivery as was a xmas present, a week on still didn't have the item.. ended up having to cancel the order! Poor service, won't be using again

I only received part of my order, when I queried this I was informed you were awaiting stock. I don't understand how the order was taken when you didn't have stock. After a couple of weeks I received an Email informing me that the money for the missing items had been refunded to my account.

Goods ordered and paid for in November 2016 not received, no communication or reason why. After many calls /emails to T J Hughes I was informed that goods ordered were out of stock and effort being made to find replacement. ( email showed goods despatched to store early December... If not in stock how could it be depatched to store?????) then order cancelled!!

My Akai DVD player is great. Very easy to order by click and collect on-line. However, although I was updated there was no confirmation that it was in-store. I went in by chance t see if it had arrived after 3 days of ordering But my goodness me how frustrating the collection procedure was. Join a long queue at pay desk; tannoy for a colleague to report; waiting 25 minutes just to hand over details; another 10 minutes for my order to be brought out. Left hand didn't know what right hand was doing. Never again. A new customer opportunity I know, but perhaps if the click and collect procedure operated by M&S and Debenhams was used by TJ then I would certainly use it. Never again after this experience. Oh and staff need to smile in the Walsall branch

Very poor customer service staff did not know what they were doing took about 10-15 mins to sort my order out very disappointed

Visited Newcastle store on Boxind day spotted a little plastic type light up Angel only one on shelf no batteries in it bottom of battery holder was missing .I liked the little Angel so asked where they were to be told that was the only one left ex display . Asked the assistant who was pleasant enough if I could buy it and how much it would be .I was told no Xmas stock was to be reduced and she guessed the price was probably! £6.99. I work at Marks and Spencer myself where customer service is of the utmost priority and would not guess a product price. I challenged the price so the assistant went to the till to check thro,Xmas products to discover it was only £ 4.99. I was still interested in purchasing the item knowing it would probably get thrown away once Xmas came of floor.i asked if she could speak to a manager to see if it could be reduced after all it was ex display broken with no batteries and no idea what batteries would fit it.She then rang a mananger called John to be asked how much the original,price was. Drum roll please John the Scrooge knocked 49 pence off .I still bought it but will never ever shop at Hughes again !!!!Plus on leaving the store another manager give me a filthy look as I dropped it into my handbag. I explained I had just bought it at a greatly reduced price!,,,,,,'!!!!!!!!!and perhaps they need a lesson customer always comes first she totally ignored me and walked away.

After online bank security check money debited twice took 3 weeks to get refund very poor customer service

Stock availability was only confirmed after purchase. Stock was not available. No contact number to discuss when the stock will be available, so I could make an informed decision whether i still wanbt to make the purchase. Delivery is still processing, so hopefully the final phase of the transaction will be smoother

went to buy farah trousers price 1999 went to till to pay and was told they were 2499 not good .

Having purchased a pair of sheep's skin lined slippers for my husband two weeks ago on 8th Nov. in your Maidstone store he was very surprised after one week of wearing the brown fabric on the outside of one of the slippers has shown a hole.My husband has today gone back to the shop with the slippers in their original box to show them and ask for a refund.He has been refused on the grounds that one of your assistants says it is a burn mark.In other words he is responsible.This is impossible as no one smokes in our house and we have no open fires.In my opinion the product is of poor quality and not fit for sale .He had a valid receipt but has been refused a refund.I will not be shopping with T.J Hughes in the future with their terrible customer service.

A few weeks ago, I ordered and paid for two quest king size electric blankets. They came within a few days, but they were double. They were sent back with the promise of the correct size being reordered. They came again, and guess what, they were double again. These were sent back, and I noticed the item had been completely removed from the website and was given a refund. No explanation at all. Had I known they could not get the king size ones, I would have kept the double with the appropriate refund in price. But there was no communication what so ever about the state of the stock situation. Winter is here and I do not have two electric blankets to keep us warm. I am very disappointed with the experience. I am sorry to hear of your disappointment in regards to the service we provided.After further investigation it seems there has been an issue with our product codes and we have made an error with the sizes, which we have now rectified, thus the reason why for the product removal from the site. the items were delivered however the security pin had not been removed and so I had to go to the store for the removal

I bought a Touche éclat on line and asked that it be left in my porch. This item has never been received. I appreciate this was at my own risk, but I did email the company to let them know I had not received this item and received no reply from them. I regard this lack of response as poor customer service. Jean Graham

Items missing had to Google contact number as number shown on receipt wrong! Told stock problem will get eventually but I have been charged so paid for goods they cannot send me!

Samsung TV bought on Sunday morning on line and arrived Tuesday morning - very good. However, the box did NOT contain any screws to attach the stand to the TV. They seem to be fairly special screws with a 'low profile' head - very flat as they have to slot into the TV in a shallow slot. I rang TJs and spoke to a sympathetic service agent who spoke to the buyer - answer was basically "unlucky, you need to speak to Samsung". Called Samsung customer care and spent 15 minutes giving them all sorts of details and trying to stop them signing me up to advertising emails. Eventually opened a 'case' after which I had to send a proof of purchase (which I did). It is now 1 week later and still no screws from anyone - is this good customer service on a £300 item - not to me it isn't.

I ordered a Memphis love seat from the garden furniture range ,the first one I ordered had obviously been sent to another customer and sent back it was badly damaged ,had to wait in a full day for it to be picked up and another day for another one to be delivered ,to be disappointed again ,it was another damaged one ,at the moment I,m waiting another day in for this to be picked up ,so to avoid further disappointment I cancelled to be told I might have to wait a week for my money to go back in to my account ,I still have no seat for my garden and minus the money to go somewhere else ,I could not go through further disappointment and frustration !
