Noisy, dirty, always smells like weed. Will only stay here if I have no other choice.

Tried to book a room for my husband on the day he wanted to stay. Picked room and was sent to payment. As he was staying on the day I booked the savers rate. When my husband received the email it was booked for the next day instead. I called the hotel as website wasn’t allowing amendment as I turned out the hotel was fully booked. So even though it allowed to book and took my money a room was not available and was told by hotel staff I had lost the money.my husband ended up at another travel lodge nearby and had to stay in a family room. He had no choice as his mother passed away that day and had to stay somewhere. At no point did any member of staff tell us we could amend our booking to another hotel and pass the previous booking money on to that. We were just told you have lost the money on the savers rate. It was very stressful and has still not been resolved. We will not be staying again and your customer service needs addressing

Never seen any £39 prices of which you send me emails. As for the site kept freezing as went through two different companies too get better deal. I have an account app with you which basically does nothing for me so that's why i tried others to get my stay cheaper. I have stayed with you a few times now but maybe its time for a change after this stay

I don’t even know where to start. When you navigate their website he careful as changing beds will also change dates of your stay without warning. Trying to rectify this will result in you being charged up to 100 pounds extra with a 10 quid amendment charge after 50 minutes on the phone to various people. When we got there we had to wait on our room, witch turned out to be a dorm. You what you’ve done is essentially charge me 100 quid extra for the room I was booking in the first place. Second time using a Travellodge and both times have been an utter disgrace. Honestly, I genuinely can’t get my head around how a business can be so poorly run, so mismanaged and so brutal when it comes to extortion.

Very Tired and run down hotel, needs to be stripped and refurbished from top to bottom. Also needs to have a makeover outside as needs to be more inviting as well. No staff on duty after a certain time, as we got back after 10.30 and people were at the desk having to call staff for assistance. I took photos of some of the issues. Also reported these issues on part of the slip that the door card came with which has the door number on, this was all put in the key drop off box. I will be following this up by contacting the head office with the images as well, Definitely, not worth the cost charged.

I tried 8 times to book online with my phone. Apple Pay was rejected numerous times and asked me to use another card. I then tried to use my Debit Visa card- but the app wouldn’t even take me to the correct page. This issue needs addressing. I eventually managed to get through using my laptop to book two rooms for this coming Sunday. A tad stressful and it doesn’t endear me to stay there again having been twice this year already.

When booking two or more rooms the website does not provide a check to enable the enquirer to make all rooms flexible. It automatically allocates to the first room only. This is also the case when indicating that you want to include a dog in the second room and not the first. IF IT CAN BE DONE THEN IT IS NOT CLEAR!!!

I have been trying for 3 days to get a confirmation email from Travelodge for my booking (1569499936) on 16 th August at Chieveley. Online it refuses to confirm any bookings at all and any other way of communicating with Travelodge hits a brick wall. Even telephoning the hotel is no help. Please please send me an email confirmation I can print.

I needed to book 2 twin rooms, mine is for me and my son who is 12. If you select 1 adult and 1 child it allocates a family room which cannot be altered and was at a considerably higher cost and a room for up to 5 people was not required. the only way for me to book a twin was for 2 adults which meant that there was no option to request a free breakfast for my son so I had to pay for both breakfasts. I tried the online chat they couldn't help (they simply didn't know how the system worked) they said to ring the hotel, so I did this - they can't do anything to do with bookings, they gave me a premium rate number to ring (I wasn't doing this from my mobile and to add there was an additional £2.50 booking fee) I have emailed and have not received a response. So the booking experience was pretty awful

Had queries regarding booking & phoned Travelodge Holyhead 3 times & no one available to take call. Phoned Customer Services who were not very helpful or interested in my query. After several attempts and 2 hours I was able to make booking on-line myself. Very disappointed how expensive rooms are at Travelodge & how you do not reward loyal customers!!!!

Tried to book each day for around three weeks - phoned a couple of times and got cut off. The price therefore kept changing. I even tried different hotels, same experience

Stayed here last night for work. There used to be a minimum standard with travelodge and premier inn. Having worked away a lot over the years you knew what you were getting. Unfortunately it seems that doesn't apply to travelodge any more. I haven't marked them down on the fact that they're having work done on facade because it's necessary but the overwhelming damp smell through the hotel needs addressing. I am working on a long term project in the area and I wish I had spoken to other people on site as it seems this has been the issue for a while in fact one coworker told me when his company booked him in a short while ago there was water running down the back wall in reception. I would imagine there is no checks done on a regional level (or no adequate checks) It seems to me these days that the hotel seems to be a reflection of the town it's in (slough is rough). They should be a set standard regardless of location. That's how you maintain reputation.

On arrival at our room (6) we were knocked over by a bad smell in the room, which we thought was coming from the sink drain in the bathroom. The attendant from the front desk came and could also smell the pong, and as there were no more rooms to move too said he would inform the head office. It was not until we changed and got into bed we realised the smell was coming from the duvet and sheets !!. the man at the front desk gave us fresh ones, but the night before our daughter's graduation was ruined.

The internet booking was horrendous- I don't use PayPal or Apple Pay and just wanted to pay by card. I ended paying twice for the same booking when your website kept telling me "payment had failed" ! Had a call from my bank who suspected some nonsense was going on and they had to cancel the 2 bookings and led me through the payment again and waited for me to complete it properly. A total nonsense, and frankly an appalling payment system. A waste of my time. Look forward to your response

Cannot write a review as we were so annoyed to see the state of the travel lodge we did not book in .The person we dealt with was very pleasant .He showed us the room and no way could we stay in the room it was dismal and so cold .My husband has angina and severe cold triggers an attack I knew he would be ill if we did book in .Also the smell was awful we think it could have been your drains outside .I have never in any travel lodge or hotel seen such a dismal run down building it was appalling. We had to find another accommodation in dumfries .I am requesting a refund and am considering contacting health and safety regarding the matter .It caused us such distress as we had driven a long way .
