“I ordered 2 candles. Picture and details showed 200g candle that burns for 40 hours. Instead I received 2 90g candles that only burn for 16 hours for the same price. I don't know if this was a mix up because Trouva won't talk to me and they haven't answered my email. I feel a bit cheated.”

“Was looking for an Annie Sloan chalk paint colour that AS didn't have any on her website. Found it on this site which brings together smaller retailers, a bit like Ebay but seems much more swish. The smaller retailers are actual shops so I feel I'm supporting them. Anyway, I found the colour I wanted, so a good result!”

“Ordered on 27 Nov and it arrived on 1 Dec, with an email confirming delivery. I like the idea of supporting independent shops from the UK and abroad with a single online shop. On the downside, I've lost hours of my life browsing!”

“Trouva has a great selection of gifts. It cannot compete,however with a browse around an independent shop. I chose a couple of mugs which were fine but a bit different from the photo. I thought they had a matt finish and they were shiny. The gift wrapping from the boutique could not be differentiated from normal packing. They were just loosely wrapped in white tissue with a postcard slipped in with them. Disappointing. The mugs will still be fine for presents but I won't keep one myself which had been the intention. This experience won't put me off from using Trouva again as I think it is a great idea and I assume I was just unlucky. One always takes a risk when one buys things from a photo rather than being able to handle them.”

“Love that all the shops are independent, however I did think that the goods would have been manufactured in the Uk but unfortunately still made in China, my mistake, giving support to the independent small business is fantastic and I will be shopping with Trouva again.”
