We just completed our 19th trip with Turo over the past 12 months, and it will be our last. We’ve canceled our account and will be returning to traditional rental cars. Turo systematically shields unscrupulous hosts at the expense of their guests - we've seen this multiple times. Most recently, we were unfairly charged $31 for the host's early drop-off (over a day before our scheduled trip) and another $25 for their late pickup. Despite Turo's policy requiring hosts to clearly disclose parking fees and responsibilities, this was not done in my case. When I disputed these charges, Turo sided with the host, ignoring their own policies and the clear evidence I provided. It's evident that Turo prioritizes protecting hosts who generate fees over the fair treatment of guests. This experience was the last straw.

Turo allow a host to charge a guest almost 500 dollars for a cracked windshield, after the guest called around they discovered the windshield was actually 315. Terrible service!

TURO HOSTS SCAM YOU!!! As a responsible consumer, it is essential to address issues promptly when encountering a malfunctioning product or service. In this case, the car key slipping into the middle console of the Tesla during a reservation caused significant inconvenience and ultimately left the driver, myself, stranded in Charlotte!! When reaching out to the host, for assistance with resolving the car malfunction, it is expected that he would take responsibility for ensuring that his vehicle is in proper working condition. However, his unwillingness to help and failure to provide adequate customer service reflects poorly on his professionalism and commitment to guest satisfaction. Furthermore, the lack of support from the customer service line in resolving multiple dispute calls only adds to the frustration and dissatisfaction of my experience with Turo because of this host. It is imperative that steps are taken immediately to escalate this issue with Ivan and address any unjust charges being imposed. In conclusion, as a paying customer utilizing a rental service such as Turo for transportation needs, it is crucial that hosts like Ivan prioritize guest safety and satisfaction above all else. The inability to resolve car malfunctions in a timely manner and refusal to provide adequate support only serve to tarnish their reputation and deter future business opportunities. SCAM!

Wish you could rate 0 stars. Terrible experience. Spent way to much time calling Turo about all these added charges. Was billed one amount and then after I had over 90.00 dollars in addition to what I should of paid. Added a chair called they then removed the chair fee which was wonderful since I didn't add a chair BUT they added a 65.00 dollar change fee. Called back again. Charged air port fee after I was not charged for that fee since the airport we picked up the car from does not charge Turo a fee. Called back again for that. Then the charged me 3 days of airport parking. Which I picked the car up when I was suppose to and shouldn't of paid 3 days of airport parking but had to pay it to leave the airport with the car. Called again about that. Will never use Turo again. The host on the other hand was fabulous!

We just had the worse experience!! Never use TURO! We borrow the car on Saturday and the engine broke down on Monday. The car started to jump and making a weird noise. Suddenly, the Engine light lit up, showing " REDUCED ENGINE POWER". We stopped the car, and all icons lit up, the car was jumping and making horrible noise. The liquid was dripping from beneath the car as well. We called the customer service which tow away the car. It was just scary, we could have had a car crush on the highway from Vancouver to Banff. We got stuck in Banff with all our camping gear, bags and forced to take 11 hour long bus ride back. Our vacation is ruined completely. Never trust TURO!!!

I was a host with Turo they are a rip off company and I do not advise anyone to go with them. I had 5 cars with them and I lost because they charge me fees more than paying me.

The company practically rapes those that rent cars. It's not profitable in most instances. Use a service that values the host. Customer service is a bear...get ready to spend atleast an hour on the phone if any issues arise.

Overall very good experience with Turo but did have an awful episode with one Snardy P. out of Orlando, FL. This scam artist claimed I smoked in his car, I've never smoked in my life. He charged my $275 which I was able to have Turo waive. Tip: Only use All-Star hosts, you will avoid shady hosts like Snardy P.

I was a turo host and rented my new car for 7 months . at first guests were nice, kind , well behaved , we'll informed. And not until young guests rented it out , acquired thousands of miles, smoked weeds , tobacco, lots of trash, didn't pay tolls, and when I reported it to Turo, we got their response within that day and said , guests didn't respond the request, and Turo immediately closed the case. The second Guests, rented it out , after 3 hrs and Guests arrived to their destination, she called and states that the car was making a loud noise, we told them just bring it back and check the vehicle my self. Our car is only month old , Guests replied by saying,I'll bring it tomorrow since the concert is done, and dont wanna be charged. I had the dealer checked the car and said it's perfectly in top notch. The Guests not only don't want to pay rent, she didn't pay the tolls either. Again reported t to TURO and turo said the guest didn't respond and for that we closed the case .

bad rules, Not organized , really a good example of a scam. I booked it once and ever repeat it again, and I advice everyone NOT TO USE THAT APP, they deceive you and get too much money from you and form the car owner then when a problem happens they misbehave and ask you to pay for something you didn't do, and they accept very bad cars, and they get much money and lie to you saying there is insurance but they steal the money.

Everything went wrong from the beginning, I was giving a stinky car and dirty in the inside, seats were heavy stained and the car had a smell like a skunk 🦨, even though I let them know that the car was stinking and very dirty. After I returned the car earlier, after a few days I got an additional fee for smoking $154.00 Nobody in our house had ever smoked! I’ve been disputing this charges since 3 weeks ago, my host Jessi Lopez was an absolute disgrace, I would never rent a car from turo again! This host stays in Oak lawn by cicero and sw hwy, please be careful this host has history of always changing extra fees, and he pockets the money and don’t ever gets his cars cleaned!

I received an additional charge weeks later for some damage, allegedly. Email said I had one day to pay it or they would automatically deduct the amount from my credit card on file, and if that had issues I would be reported to credit rating bureaus for delinquent payment. When I asked over phone for an invoice, documentation or receipt specific to damage so I can work with my car insurance company, they would not provide anything at all.

Horrendous experience. We rented a car for 2 weeks from Toulouse airport. It had looked good in the photos - on arrival the car had done 235,000km and on its deathbed. The gear stick came off in my hand - literally nothing attaching it. The car started making loud banging noises near the wheels but it got us to our accommodation 2 hours away in the middle of nowhere. On the second day, I tried to reverse into a parking space and the car moved forward. I tried 10 times, wondering if I was accidentally going into 4th gear. No. Reverse was now a forward gear. To move in and out of any parking space or tight street, my wife now had to get out the car and push to go backwards. We pulled into a car park to see what was happening. Now first gear wasn’t working and the car was making terrible noises and the engine smelling. The transmission had completely died. This could have caused a fatal accident on the autoroutes or winding hills. We called Turo. They said they could send someone to take a look (ie. boost the battery). I explained the car was finished - repairs for this would be 10,000€ for a 400€ rental of a car worth 200€ scrap. Even towing back to Toulouse would be 1000€. Turo said they could then arrange a short taxi ride for us to our accommodation and then we would be on our own. We notified the owner - he said don’t accept Turo’s mechanic. He said leave the car and he will try find a mechanic to come fix it. We rented another car, knowing the owner wouldn’t find someone. He was nice about it, and agreed the car was finished. We contacted Turo to say we would have to cancel the rest of the booking. They confirmed with the owner and we were promised we would be refunded within 3 days. After four days, the owner found a garage to tow away the car locally. We had to rent 4 other cars for the remainder of our trip. No refund came. We followed up with Turo again - they said it was coming. Nothing seemed to be canceled on our booking on the app. It continued on as if we were still using. We returned home. Turo said one of their guys had not input the forest details, but now we would be refunded within 3 days. No refund came. I received an email from another Turo department, launching an investigation. I sent all the info. After weeks, no word back and no refund. I’ve rented many cars from many companies in different countries over the years - this is without doubt the worst experience I have ever had with that. A dangerous car that should never have been allowed on the road, that suffered complete mechanical failure within 48 hours of rental, with no reasonable help to remedy the situation, no proper function for cancelling, and no refund more than a month later. A truly appalling company. You have been warned.

I've tried to rent a car through Turo twice and both times the rental was cancelled with no explanation. It's impossible to get in touch with anyone from Turo to find out why the rentals were cancelled or to discuss a new rental. I wasted a great deal of time registering on the Turo website. Now I can't use their service because I can't be sure that the rental won't be cancelled at the last minute. Also, I can't reach anyone to discuss this problem.

Horrible! Scammed $3000 host filed false damage claims. I was unfairly assessed fees for damages and appraisals and processing. I have pictures. I was even told the picture he originally sent was normal wear and tear. What changed? They are no help and side with host.

We got to the Tampa Airport and unlike last year, we found out that the van wasn't at the airport, it was 6 miles or 15 minutes away. We had to get a ride over to our van and take it back to the airport to pick up our family. We went to return the van and the return area was different based on their text to us. We had to drop it off in a dicey area which was shaky at best. We got on our plane at 6:00 AM and got a text stating that they are fining us for not returning the van to the tune of over 100.00. We vehemently told them that we took it to the address that they gave us and they said that we should have taken back to the original lot that we picked it up at. We showed them the exact text of where they instructed us to drop it off. They said that they needed more proof. We didn't have anymore proof and they have sent several messages charging us for not sweeping out some sand on the mats which was 150.00. They also charged us fines for supposedly not having the van there on time. We returned it 4 hours early. They charged us twice for using their Sunpass for the tolls and we should have only paid once. Needless to say, the extra charges were crazy and their customer service will not listen to anything. This is by far the worst service I have ever received.

First time user on Turo - AWFUL experience. My host cancelled on me last minute, causing me to have to find another host at $600 more. I asked Turo for travel credits to cover the extra charge and they refused. I even emailed CEO Andre Haddad, he was unresponsive and his customer service reps still refused, claiming they could find a comparable car - and when they sent them, they turned out to be more expensive. It's like using Lyft or Uber, but the driver doesn't show. I told Andre Haddad, what they're doing erodes customer confidence, but he was silent. Andre - your platform is only as good as the hosts on the site, and when the host cancels, you need to fix the issue or you will lose customers.

I have disabilities that cause me to be unable to take the required pictures and then get it in the app which is new in the past year. Turo does not provide reasonable accomodations for people with disabilities per the law. They are breaking the law! Anyone else have problems with turo due to their disabilities?
