I have tried on 4 occasions to rent cars through Turo with no success. I made arrangements to have a car delivered to my campground on April 10th. Literally at the last minute they cancelled my reservation and were no help whatsoever in arranging another car. They, essentially, ruined my vacation and left me in the lurch. I give up, they simply aren't worth doing business with.

While the host we rented from had positive reviews, there was a 5-day delay in any communication from him regarding my need to cancel our trip. I notified him before calling customer service as I had not realized this was a non-refundable trip. Reaching customer service was another poor experience. I had difficulty hearing (due to background noise) and the slight accent of the agent. We are still awaiting notification on refund or rescheduling a trip in the future and have low expectations. Definitely would not recommend this service and am quite disappointed.

I fell victim to a crypto scam, but contacting harrylucy*977 @*gmail.*com made the refund process quick and easy.

Turo is far the worse car rental ever they just changed their policy on March 5th about booking trips with credit card only. Not everyone like me has a secondary payment method credit card to add to the account now I'm not able to book anything. I'm going to have to close my account and make sure I won't recommend this car rental to no one. They are going to loose a lot of customers. Also I was never notified about this new policy change which is bad customer service

Disappointing Experience with Claims Department I recently rented a vehicle through Turo, and while I initially appreciated the convenience of the platform, my experience with the claims department left me deeply frustrated. After returning the car, which had 92,000 clicks on it, I was hit with a claim for over $2600 due to a scratch. The car was not in pristine condition to begin with, and the wear and tear seemed typical for its mileage. However, what really upset me was the claims process itself. I was not given the opportunity to provide a statement or context regarding the scratch, which I thought was unfair. It felt as though my perspective was completely disregarded, and the situation was handled without any consideration for the actual condition of the vehicle. This lack of transparency made the entire experience feel like a scam. As a renter, I expected a fair assessment and the chance to defend myself against what seemed like an inflated claim. Instead, I felt powerless and frustrated, left to deal with a hefty charge that felt unjustified. Overall, my experience with Turo was tarnished by the claims department's approach. I hope they can improve their communication and fairness in handling claims in the future. Until then, I would advise potential renters to be cautious and fully document any pre-existing damage before taking a vehicle out.

Rented a car that was repoed and left my friend stranded. She tried to file a complaint and now they have blocked her. Horrible experience, even worse or no customer service.

Double charged me for rental after being locked out of the car because the remote was faulty and there was no spare key. I ended up 6 hours late for work and they're charging me 182.00 dollars for being four hours late with the replacement vehicle. Straight Ripoff!

The vehicle we rented was faulty. They said because the problem happened while it was on our watch we still have to pay for it. It’s like dealing with a bunch of AI bots no one you speak to actually listens. The email that they say is a real person answers questions you didn’t ask and ask you questions that don’t apply to what’s going on.

A car we rented claimed that we had damaged the windscreen. We refute that this happened while we had the car. Additionally the chip was miniscule, and they expected us to pay for a full windscreen replacement. However there's no proof that this has been done, or a second opinion as to whether a repair was possible. They left it for seven months - so I thought it had gone away. They then took money out of my account whilst this was still in dispute, with no permission. They have now stopped responding and I'm unable to get hold of them. It's dreadful customer service.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with TURO. I applied to rent a vehicle and was unexpectedly denied. When I reached out via chat to get clarification, instead of helping me, they abruptly closed my account. Their lack of transparency and refusal to provide any real explanation is unacceptable. If they are going to deny someone service, they should at least provide clear reasons and a chance to address any potential mistakes. Instead, they chose to shut me out entirely with no recourse. I would not recommend TURO to anyone looking for reliable customer service or fair treatment. If they can falsely deny me, they can do it anyone.

Turo is the worst company to ever work with! We rented a car for our Florida trip, and yesterday, it broke down on us—with Lorelai in the car—on the side of I-275 in Tampa. If you know what the Tampa area is like at 5 p.m., you understand how scary and dangerous that was. Our host was amazing and did everything he could to help. We made it back to the house and contacted Turo. They said the host needed to pick up the car before we could get a replacement. No problem—our host came out to the house at 10 p.m. to pick up the car and did everything he was instructed to do. Last night, I was on the phone and chat with Turo until 11:30 p.m. trying to get a new car. I started again this morning at 8:30 a.m., and I’m still getting nowhere—just the runaround. Now my family is in Florida with no car! I don’t understand why this is so difficult. I need a replacement car that fits into the refund amount for the last four days of my trip. Instead, Turo has decided to just refund my card—which takes up to 15 days—and expects me to book a new car on my own. On top of that, they won’t even deliver the car to our rental house or allow me to return it at the airport. How do they expect me to get to the airport an hour away without a car?! None of this makes any sense. If this is Turo’s customer service policy, I will never use them again.

First of all ,I find it odd that Turo will not allow Goigle reviews, but that's another story. I started looking for a rental from Turo in October 2024. We had a trip planned to Florida starting January 6th 2025. I booked a total of 4 cars, each one cancelling the vehicle for various reasons. I always chose the refundable trip since my bookoings started in October. I was thankful I did because of the 4 cancelations On December 12th I finally found a good car with a decent price and a host who was very nice and accommodating. I trusted this host and since the trip was only 25 days away I chose the non refundable trip. Eight days later after a CT scan I was diagnosed with Pacreatic cancer. I immediately contacted Turo to explain my situation, after numerous conversations with some very sympathetic reps, he agreed to refund my money. Later that day I recieved an email from Turo stating they would not refund my money. A complete turn around. I a taking chemotherapy now for about 6 weeks and it's expensive Turo has kept the $861.00 I paid on December 12th and cancelled on December 20th. Thats 8 days and it cost me $861 ! I would have expected that their might be some compassion left in the business world and I'm sure there is, but you won't find it at Turo. I just wanted to let people know what kind of people you will be dealing with at Turo. I will never use them again and I will make sure that my friends and family will never use them either. We never made the trip to Florida and I pray that I will be given another chance to travel again .

We recently rented a vehicle in Florida. From the start the vehicle had transmission issues and ac was not working. We decided to stay with the vehicle because our daughter was having a baby and we had family coming from out of state. On the ad it clearly stated that tolls were included by the host. Their was no information stating that after the rental the host would be expecting reimbursement for the tolls. I contact Turo and the customer service rep was very argumentative from the beginning and was not helpful at all. I've rented from Turo in different states before and it was always a great experience till now. I honestly would rather pay more money to a rental company that has no hidden fees and clearly states everything on their car ads and know that the car is in great condition, then to rent from Turo and end up with a crapy car with a bunch of issues and at the end of the rental get hit with unexpected charges.

Do NOT rent your car out on Turo! A renter sent my husband an ID that we now know was fake, sent someone else to pick up the truck, and they drove it over the border to Mexico. The vehicle was seized by border patrol and ended up in a tow yard. We still don’t know why yet. The tow truck drive said they were most likely smuggling people over the border.

Car was fine. Host cancelled my first reservation because I was three hours late for a LOCKBOX pick-up. I got hit with $140 cancellation fee, and Turo would not refund even with proof of my text to host saying I would be late. Very disappointing. Be careful out there.
