1. Very expensive car for such an old car: $150 for about a 20 hour rental and 175 miles. 2. Pickup in a dark location meant it was difficult to inspect the car thoroughly for damage, using only the light of my iPhone. 3. Difficult to get quick responses from the "host"/owner. 4. Tire pressure was so low that the dashboard sensor immediately flagged it. The host said to not worry about it, but I felt I had to spend some money getting them inflated since I was on an interstate highway at 60 mph. He did reimburse me, but for this price the car should have been problem-free. Bottom line: don't use Turo unless you are desperate and have no alternatives.

I paid for a car from Thursday 8/14/25 yo Sunday 8/17/25. Due to a family emergency, I had to return the car on Friday. They still charged me $500 “late fees”. On top of that the car was old, ratty, dirty, and poorly maintained. This is not the first time with a bad experience with Turo. NEVER USING THEM AGAIN!!!!

I was excited to use Turo to help local people in Calgary. The host was great and pick up and drop off was flawless. On the highway a rock flew up from the car in front and chipped the windshield. One of those that cost. $50 in any parking lot chip repair. Turo was telling me $500 deductible plus $150 for processing fees or I could settle with the host privately and Turo would stay out of it. The host said he was not pursuing it at all. Turo then sends me an invoice for $95 for damage with a threat that if not paid in 48 hours it would go to collections. After 30 minutes on the phone with Turo I could not get an answer and was put on hold so many times. I still have no clue why I was charged $94.50. Turo just ran the charge through. I will NEVER use Turo again

I was charged a fee for vehicle delivery, but the host never delivered the car. Despite this, I was later informed that I needed to pick up the car myself because the price supposedly did not include delivery. However, the app clearly showed a delivery fee included in the final cost. The charge was not itemized in the receipt—it was blended into the total amount, making it unclear unless examined closely. Even after I sent a screenshot showing the app’s error, they did not acknowledge it. This lack of transparency made it difficult to immediately identify the issue. I have a screenshot that clearly shows the cost was associated with delivery. To date, no one has acknowledged the app’s mistake or the fact that I was charged for a service that was never provided. This situation feels misleading and unfair, especially given the clear evidence I’ve submitted. As a result, I canceled the reservation—but they still charged me a cancellation fee, which I am currently disputing with my credit card company.

Everything went well until I asked for a thirty minute delay for return. I was approved for free, but Turo then charged me $110 for a late fee. This practice is very questionable as they add additional fees that are unexpected. Renter BEWARE!!

I feel ripped off. I'm a senior citizen who booked a 15-year-old Prius through this company for a pretty hefty price. All over their website it says you can cancel up to 24 hours ahead of time. I booked the wrong dates so when I went to change it I canceled the first booking only to be told that I lose all $300 that I paid and if I wanted to book again I have to pay all over again. Apparently there was a $5 discount on this stupid car which made it unrefundable booking. Buyer beware! Customer service was less than helpful. I believe this is predatory tactics. What a rip off! I will be posting this on social media every chance I get

I tried to rent a car through Turo. They charged my credit card and then cancelled the reservation immediately because my driver's license was going to expire during the rental period. I never got the car. They cancelled the booking the same day I tried to reserve and they still charged my credit card. I have spent 3 weeks trying to get a refund. They are trying to charge me a $190 cancellation fee. I have spent over an hour on two separate occasions trying to get this resolved. At one point they told me I would receive a refund in 10-14 days which never happened. Only when I threatened that I was immediately going to initiate a chargeback did they finally agree to a refund. However, they said this was a one time courtesy and that they typically would not refund for this.

I have used Turo several times in the past and those were wonderful experiences. I tried to book a trip out west and had difficulty determining what "unlimited miles" meant. The original ad(s) for the car said "unlimited miles" but then "unlimited miles" showed up as as "add on" which considerably raised the daily rate. I decided to go back to corporate car rental cause it was more straightforward and ultimately cheaper. I suggest that Turo make this issue more transparent.

Had a horrible experience ‘renting’ from Turo first booking the car had engine issues (turns out it needed a new spark plug) I was assured I would have a replacement car the same night but the tow truck took around 2.5 hrs by which point no cars were available, unless I wanted to pay and extra $300 (after being told Turo would cover any difference in cost) after missing my accommodation booking, I had to get a new rental the following morning (15.5hrs later than my original booking) Turo have paid only $40 refund, to cover the more expensive booking fee but no compensation for the loss of 15.5 hours, missed AirBnB or travel costs to the new rental. They are now ignoring emails, putting me on hold and then hanging up on me. The replacement car host also told me the car was a stolen vehicle.. Do not book with them!!

We got a car that conked out on us in the middle 9f nowhere. After 6 hours waiting for an Uber, that we'd be reimbursed for, it cost $160 and they refuse to reimburse. NEVER AGAIN.

I have had pretty good experiences. I've used individuals as well as car lots and such. But the last 3 rentals I've had a 200 dollar deposit added to my card without me knowing. I see it cube out but can't see when it goes back in. Takes about 15 days to refund in told. So I have 600 dollars in limbo somewhere. I don't like it.

Had a trip booked and paid for and the host cancelled the trip 4 days before the trip. Turo’s solution was that I should pay an additional $400 for an equivalent vehicle. They said as much as they would like to help me more, they couldn’t do anything. So basically Turo does not guarantee you have a vehicle even after you pay in full. Why should anyone book with them if the boat can cancel at any time and you are then out of luck!

My Turo host cancelled my reservation the DAY BEFORE MY TRIP! I had made the reservation three months in advance, so of course, there was nothing available even close to the price I paid! Turo as the company offers you NOTHING except a refund which takes 7 days! I ended up paying more than DOUBLE the price for my one week rental because I had to do a last minute reservation at a regular car rental place! I will NEVER use Turo again!!!!

Booked a trip. Then cancelled a couple of days later. Was told I would get a refund within 24 hours. Called three days later and was told the trip was not refundable. I then pulled up the trip and lo and behold there was a block that showed up that all of a sudden said it was not refundable. Terrell would not give me credit on the account or do anything. So they just kept $141 Plus and basically said oh well

First and last time renting a car with Turo. The host, Cole in Honolulu, falsely charged me with a smoking fee. I have provided my own photos when dropping off the car and it does not show the same thing the hosts photos do stamped over 12 hours later after the car was returned. Customer service is a joke and they just keep denying my dispute even with photos provided.
