I’ve used Turo for years now. I’ve had great experiences with owners and not so great. The thing I’ve become less satisfied with is the customer service and mileage. When I first started using Turo the rentals came with unlimited mileage. Now it seems like they all have 1200, 1800, or less. I’ve even seen 800. The one thing I don’t want to think about is mileage when renting a car. I’ve also noticed the cars are not as nice. Dings, dents, scratches. The fees have really increased and sometimes add over $100. I used to love Turo, but not so much anymore more.

Extremely Disappointed – Lost a Loyal Customer I submitted my license for verification days in advance and reached out multiple times for help. Despite being a verified driver with past trips, the delay caused me to miss out on booking a vehicle at the original price. By the time my account was approved, the price had jumped over $400. Turo support acknowledged the delay but took no responsibility for the price hike and offered zero compensation. It’s incredibly frustrating to be penalized for their internal issue. I expected better from a company that relies on trust and convenience. Turo just lost a lifelong customer.

Customer service is so bad. I couldn't upload my picture as part of approval process to drive for my upcoming trip. Reached to customer service. All of agent just pass me around and not solve the issue. I have been reaching out for an hour and they keep bouncing me around. Not sure why is it so difficult to approve someone to drive. All you need is their drivers license..... Especially yuliana S. She doesn't help me at all. I have a upcoming trip and need to drive. Customer is non existence. If your business model is to let people drive, then why make it so difficult.

I rented a truck. Owner had me pick up and drop off on a public street. Left keys in car. I took before and after pictures. Weeks after returning truck they charged my credit card $1300 for a supposed scratch. It did not have a scratch on it when I returned it. Now I'm fighting with my credit card Co to remove this charge and turo who has sent it to collection to ruin my credit. Wish I never would have used them. .

First time user…. Their refund policy is a joke! My plans changed and I cancelled 2 weeks before my trip and they won’t refund my money!!! $404.00!!!!

The car was fine, but the Trip Fee was unreasonably high – nearly $120 just in “service fees” on top of the rental price. It’s very misleading because the actual cost ends up being much more than the daily rate shown. I reached out to Turo support, but they refused to explain or adjust anything. Be very careful – always check the full total before booking. The platform fees can be higher than the car itself. I won’t be using Turo again unless they improve transparency.

Working with Turo is a nightmare. I host a 2023 Tesla on Turo, ive been with them for almost a year and lately issues with guests have been happening very often. Out of the 5 issues ive had, Turo has sided with all 5 of them. Guests can trash your vehicle, leave false reviews, threaten to hurt you through Turo platform, slash your leather seats (all of these based on my experiences), and Turo will still DENY all your claims. Its as if a glitched system is in place to deny everything a host submits. When speaking to reps, sometimes they act like they understand, but shortly after you get an email denying your claim. It never fails. After almost a year with turo, i have permanent stains on my seats, slashed leather, and now they have the audacity to put my account at risk due to a false maintenance issue claim from a guest who retaliated bc i submitted a cleaning fee. I am currently patiently waiting for a reckless guest to return my vehicle, as Turo says they cannot do anything about it. Bottomline- only Host with them if you have a car you do not care about, otherwise youre in for a nightmare with anxiety.

VERY RISKY. Rented a week in advance and the owner canceled less then 24h before. I did not get a full refund and no replacement. Had to rent another car last minute which was much more expensive.

Turo acquired a car rental company called Kyte a few days before my scheduled rental on July 18. Kyte (now Turo) abruptly canceled my confirmed reservation without any prior notice, explanation, or offer of assistance—leaving me completely stranded on the day I needed the car. I had booked well in advance and was relying on the reservation for an important trip. Because of the last-minute cancellation and total lack of communication, I was forced to scramble for alternate transportation and spend over $1000 out of pocket—nearly triple the original cost. The refund for the canceled booking was processed, but my request for reimbursement of the additional expenses has been met with vague, evasive responses and zero accountability. Turo has shown an alarming disregard for basic customer service and responsibility - which is consistent with other Turo customers experiences with cancelled reservations on their original platform. Their support team has failed to acknowledge the financial harm caused, and after multiple attempts to seek resolution, they have become unresponsive. Based on my experience and the wave of similar reviews, I would strongly advise others to avoid relying on Turo for transportation. The risk of being abandoned without support is real—and expensive.

I recently booked a one-month trip with Turo. Due to personal reasons, I had to return the vehicle 3 days early, which was approved by the car owner. I didn’t ask for a refund, just arranged an earlier return. To my surprise, on the return day, I was charged an extra $827.46. Turo told me this was because the monthly discount no longer applied after the change in dates. So just by returning the car 3 days early (with owner approval), my total trip cost jumped from $1,685.38 to $2,512.84 – a huge and unfair increase. Please double-check your bookings and bank accounts if you’ve made any changes to your Turo rentals. This kind of pricing change without clear warning is shocking.

Terrible experience!!! Returned the car 9 minutes late and receive an email the next day that I was 37 minutes late and additional charges over $70. This was my first time using Turo and will be my last. I recommend going through other membership to rent a car with more certainty and complete service, like Costco or travel credit cards. Turo car owners expect you to vacuum and wash the car, unlike a rental car agency. All around poor experience and absurd expectations, never again!!!!!

I booked a car on Turo for a special occasion, but the original vehicle was unavailable due to issues on their end. The replacement didn’t meet the original terms, and despite clearly stating I didn’t wish to proceed, I was still charged. It took nearly two weeks and several follow-ups to receive a refund for the trip, and I’m still awaiting reimbursement for Uber rides that were necessary only because of the disruption. The situation caused financial and emotional stress, and I’ve had to absorb losses due to miscommunication and misrepresentation throughout the process. While I appreciate the partial resolution, the overall experience left me frustrated and disappointed. I expected more accountability from a platform like Turo. Going forward, I’ll be using Enterprise, where I’ve consistently found clarity, professionalism, and reliability.

Owner claimed I damaged his car and even though the pictures very clearly showed I did not, Turo charged me $1500. There is absolutely no recourse according to the contract you “sign” when you rent the car. Dealing with this company has been a Kafkaesque nightmare. Rent from Enterprise and AVOID THIS APP.

The worst customer service. When you get a vehicle that is trashed and try to prove it to Turo they will ignore you and the worst car owner ANDREW will try to charge you for his own cleaning $150 because no one is physically there at pickup. At least Enterprise has a person there.

Turo is great until you have a problem. In my case I got a customer service representative with severe mush mouth, a dismissive attitude,, and poor English. I won't be using Turo again.
