The vehicle we rented was faulty. They said because the problem happened while it was on our watch we still have to pay for it. It’s like dealing with a bunch of AI bots no one you speak to actually listens. The email that they say is a real person answers questions you didn’t ask and ask you questions that don’t apply to what’s going on.

A car we rented claimed that we had damaged the windscreen. We refute that this happened while we had the car. Additionally the chip was miniscule, and they expected us to pay for a full windscreen replacement. However there's no proof that this has been done, or a second opinion as to whether a repair was possible. They left it for seven months - so I thought it had gone away. They then took money out of my account whilst this was still in dispute, with no permission. They have now stopped responding and I'm unable to get hold of them. It's dreadful customer service.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with TURO. I applied to rent a vehicle and was unexpectedly denied. When I reached out via chat to get clarification, instead of helping me, they abruptly closed my account. Their lack of transparency and refusal to provide any real explanation is unacceptable. If they are going to deny someone service, they should at least provide clear reasons and a chance to address any potential mistakes. Instead, they chose to shut me out entirely with no recourse. I would not recommend TURO to anyone looking for reliable customer service or fair treatment. If they can falsely deny me, they can do it anyone.

Turo is the worst company to ever work with! We rented a car for our Florida trip, and yesterday, it broke down on us—with Lorelai in the car—on the side of I-275 in Tampa. If you know what the Tampa area is like at 5 p.m., you understand how scary and dangerous that was. Our host was amazing and did everything he could to help. We made it back to the house and contacted Turo. They said the host needed to pick up the car before we could get a replacement. No problem—our host came out to the house at 10 p.m. to pick up the car and did everything he was instructed to do. Last night, I was on the phone and chat with Turo until 11:30 p.m. trying to get a new car. I started again this morning at 8:30 a.m., and I’m still getting nowhere—just the runaround. Now my family is in Florida with no car! I don’t understand why this is so difficult. I need a replacement car that fits into the refund amount for the last four days of my trip. Instead, Turo has decided to just refund my card—which takes up to 15 days—and expects me to book a new car on my own. On top of that, they won’t even deliver the car to our rental house or allow me to return it at the airport. How do they expect me to get to the airport an hour away without a car?! None of this makes any sense. If this is Turo’s customer service policy, I will never use them again.

First of all ,I find it odd that Turo will not allow Goigle reviews, but that's another story. I started looking for a rental from Turo in October 2024. We had a trip planned to Florida starting January 6th 2025. I booked a total of 4 cars, each one cancelling the vehicle for various reasons. I always chose the refundable trip since my bookoings started in October. I was thankful I did because of the 4 cancelations On December 12th I finally found a good car with a decent price and a host who was very nice and accommodating. I trusted this host and since the trip was only 25 days away I chose the non refundable trip. Eight days later after a CT scan I was diagnosed with Pacreatic cancer. I immediately contacted Turo to explain my situation, after numerous conversations with some very sympathetic reps, he agreed to refund my money. Later that day I recieved an email from Turo stating they would not refund my money. A complete turn around. I a taking chemotherapy now for about 6 weeks and it's expensive Turo has kept the $861.00 I paid on December 12th and cancelled on December 20th. Thats 8 days and it cost me $861 ! I would have expected that their might be some compassion left in the business world and I'm sure there is, but you won't find it at Turo. I just wanted to let people know what kind of people you will be dealing with at Turo. I will never use them again and I will make sure that my friends and family will never use them either. We never made the trip to Florida and I pray that I will be given another chance to travel again .

We recently rented a vehicle in Florida. From the start the vehicle had transmission issues and ac was not working. We decided to stay with the vehicle because our daughter was having a baby and we had family coming from out of state. On the ad it clearly stated that tolls were included by the host. Their was no information stating that after the rental the host would be expecting reimbursement for the tolls. I contact Turo and the customer service rep was very argumentative from the beginning and was not helpful at all. I've rented from Turo in different states before and it was always a great experience till now. I honestly would rather pay more money to a rental company that has no hidden fees and clearly states everything on their car ads and know that the car is in great condition, then to rent from Turo and end up with a crapy car with a bunch of issues and at the end of the rental get hit with unexpected charges.

Do NOT rent your car out on Turo! A renter sent my husband an ID that we now know was fake, sent someone else to pick up the truck, and they drove it over the border to Mexico. The vehicle was seized by border patrol and ended up in a tow yard. We still don’t know why yet. The tow truck drive said they were most likely smuggling people over the border.

Car was fine. Host cancelled my first reservation because I was three hours late for a LOCKBOX pick-up. I got hit with $140 cancellation fee, and Turo would not refund even with proof of my text to host saying I would be late. Very disappointing. Be careful out there.

This is the worst for hosts! I want to warn people to avoid Turo. Before listing your car, make sure to calculate your expenses and income carefully because Turo takes way too much from your earnings. They are also doesn’t take any responsibilities for the mechanical issue!!!

Terrible experience! I tried booking a rental and it wouldn't let me due to an insurance risk factor. I haven't had any tickets or accidents in my life lol. Don't waste your time people.

Can’t leave a low enough review. Car was cancelled because our flight was delayed. We found out once we landed. So here we are after traveling from Florida to Canada an all day trip and we’re stranded at the airport. And money is non refundable unless we have proof of delay which we do. But we’re stranded and they have withdrawn the money and you know how that goes two weeks later…. Don’t rent from Turo!!!!!!

I found out the hard way that Turo is more for their clients who list vehicles with them, than the customers who actually rent vehicles, and keep them in business. I had a bad experience on my first rental, and when I took to Turo to give a review which was less than favorable, as it should have been they sided with the client and blocked me from renting. When I arrived to the renters home to pick up the vehicle it was not there. I tried reaching out to them and they never responded. After sitting there for about 45 minutes wondering if the vehicle was on the way, I received a call from Turo saying that the vehicle was in the shop and they have another vehicle for me. I thought this was ludacris due to the fact that I was sitting there and I could clearly see someone looking out the window at me and there was another person in the driveway, all the while I was being ignored having them only communicate with Turo. As I drove off in the vehicle I realized the brakes were squeaky and there were some things left in the car which I put to the side because I did not want to be accused of removing anything from the vehicle. It's things like this I found to be unprofessional. If you're conducting business I say do that and make sure you treat people right. This was quite disturbing, as I've never seen anything like this in my life. I would think they would want to know how their customers are being treated. I personally would want to know if someone I was doing business with was not treating my customers the right way. Something like that could truly show them in a bad light, and deter future customers from renting.

Turo is adding so many fees. My plane changed there flight , so I needed to change my car pickup times. I had to change not the days just the pickup and drop off time. They charged me a fee. It was the same amount of time. I called customer service and they said to bad that's what we charge. I asked to speak to a manager and they said they are to busy. Awful customer service.

I will not recommend turo to anyone. My trip was canceled by Turo because i had a driver’s authorization card. It is a valid form of license in the USA for people with visa. I use this as license every single day and is accepted everywhere. But turo rejected it. Its absolutely fine but i didn’t get a full refund for this cancellation. The cancellation was from turo n they didn’t give me a chance to clarify or do any alternative options. Customer service is terrrrrrible. The support person kept saying will forward to higher support. Dont know what that means.

Decided to try Turo as I was looking for a special vehicle that I couldn't find at a normal rental company . Excited to try it out, booked my 4 day mini vacation and booked the car...great...not. The day before my trip I get a notification my host cancelled on me and there was no backup car the same model ( which was the point as I wanted to test drive this certain vehicle ) so have to cancel my trip , lose money and my non refundable hotel not to mention rescheduling .I called Turo to see why and they don't tell you why? and I also found out if you are a guest and you cancel three days before a trip you get a penalty fee so I asked why doesn't the host get a penalty fee for canceling on me since if was a day before my trip and he cant tell me why but it seems very easy for a host to cancel for whatever reason and it jsut feel a bit icky so I will not be using them again ...too many uncertains with this company

I had to cancel a booking to book an alternative car, which became suddenly unavailable. Immediately rebooked my original booking and it was $44 more expensive. Called customer service to refund the difference. They said the system wouldn’t allow it. I asked for a credit instead. System said no. Frustrating experience.

I have been a customer for five months at this time. The host is very good but Turo services are horrible. I call customer services to see why my trip fee and standard protection doubled my last three trips. I call customer service and the lady tells me that the rate is higher because I book so close to the pickup day but I pay on Fridays of every week for next and I don’t pick up until Sunday so they are liars and not an honest company. Please Beware!
