I was just on the phone with Berny and Sebastian about an unresolved issue with my account and was just hung up on and told my issue was unproductive. The people on the phone had no supervisor or answers for my questions. This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will make sure no one ever uses this company seeing how they do not care about their customer. All I needed was my account closed. No one was able to help me. No supervisor # provided to contact next morning no nothing. Terrible run company.

The absolute worst customer service ever. My account was blocked and i was told i was banned. I contacted them several times through the app and they over the phone and no action was taken to fix it. The representative informed me to just keep waiting or make new accounts.

Rented the Host's car the night before needing it on the Turo app. Show up to the vehicle in an industrial complex the next morning. No Host and no information on how to unlock the car. Called the Host and was told to "look around on the ground" for the key. Finally found the key on top of the rear tire. Opened the door and the interior reeked of stale smoke. The interior was coated in a thin layer of nicotine tar. Because we were in the middle of a vacation, time was precious (and we were dropped off by Uber in an industrial complex) so we took our pictures and completed the process. My mistake was not turning the vehicle on until after accepting it. The check engine light came on. I tried calling the Host. He now did not answer his phone. I told him in the Turo app that we could not take the car due to safety reasons and to cancel the trip/refund our money. I further filed a claim with Turo about the issue. After a number of hours, we finally managed to rent an Enterprise car (for less than the Turo car) and went about completing our trip. Return home. No refund. No communication from Turo (except daily messages to "rate my experience"). I call Turo and am told that I'd receive a response in 2 business days. No response. I call a week later and -- after being passed to various representatives -- am told that I'll soon receive a response (they had to speak to the Host). Two weeks later, no thing. This is after having documenting everything in the Turo app in near real time - meaning Turo could quickly review its logs to know the car was returned within less than 15 minutes of acceptance (and the Host agreed to the return). I've had a prior good experience with a Turo host. I expect the occasional bad host. But the company's failure to timely address customer concerns means that I will never use the service again. You can decide for yourself, but if you are on vacation where your time is precious, please beware. Good luck out there everyone

They don't allow you to verify your driving license online, the Android app and customer support sucks so hard

My rental was canceled by the host at the last minute. I had reserved it weeks earlier. Turo wasn't exactly overly helpful in scheduling a replacement, nor was the host. The host had several other cars in her fleet and did not offer any of them. Turo said that because of the cancellation I was eligible for "compensation." Turns out this means they would waive the rebooking fee. And that was it. Seriously? Why not discount the rebooked rental? Or just comp it? I had to spend way too much time rebooking -- scrambling at the last minute -- to make something work. Better to just go through one of the mainstream rentals. They always have additional cars ready to go and most of the time they upgrade my rental for a very nominal fee. I've had so many great experiences with Air BnB and VRBO that I was hoping Turo would be just like that. Nope.

It has been great for the most part since I realized it is much better when I rent from an all star host otherwise I actually did have a bad experience with cancellations ...But I absolutely love Turo and been using them for at least 7 years or more..

First and last time using Turo . Had a ev car that wouldn’t charge at any station and home charger was extremely slow . So dropping it off i couldn’t have it on full battery because i had to use the battery to get there . The host chargers me $60 because car was not on 100% . SCAM SCAM SCAM . I lost a day of using the car and they want to charge me ! The customer service is the absolute worst . They will tell you anything to get you off the phone and even with proof of car issues in turn message between me and host saying i was stuck and have issues they didn’t care . Stay far away. Stick with regular car rental businesses .

I have been hosting for maybe a year/ as of right now I have my car listed at $71 a day. I had a friend try to rent my car and turo is Charging a NY trip fee of $352 for one day. Making this guys price $432 for one day! This is completely outrageous . I will be removing my account from there site once May last bookings are through. What is the pint to even try and rent your car. No one in their right mind would ever rent a car for that! Absolute outrageousness.

Turo is a horrible rental service you literarily have to wait 10 business days to receive your deposit back they take your money as soon as you book the rental but then make you wait exactly 10 business days calling them won’t help they play like they don’t know anything and don’t try to help I wouldn’t waste my time

"Turo is extremely risky and can cost… "Turo is extremely risky and can cost you enormous amounts of money, as it did for me. A big warning about this service. Rent a car from a traditional rental company instead. I booked a car through the Turo app from a host with a 4.9 rating. We reserved the car for our winter holiday. When we landed in Tampa on December 26, I was informed by the host that Turo had canceled the booking, not the host. Turo’s only response was, ‘Sorry, all cars are booked.’ We were left stranded at the airport with three children, completely abandoned by Turo. They did nothing to resolve the situation, offered no contact or compensation. We went to every car rental company at Tampa Airport, but all cars were rented out. Eventually, we managed to find an old minivan, but it cost us almost $3,000 more than our original booking. They clearly took advantage of people in desperate situations. Think twice before using Turo. They can simply cancel your car booking when you arrive, leaving you to deal with the consequences."

I wouldn't rent any cars here it's a rip off..not a rental agency..You can't return the car to the state you're traveling too. Host cars are outdated and it's very risky business.

I’ve been a regular user of Turo, but lately, it’s clear they’re going down the same greedy path as companies like Uber. They’re stacking crazy fees on top of already expensive rentals—fees that aren’t clearly shown up front. Hidden charges suddenly appear after booking, and customer service doesn’t seem to care. It feels like they’re more focused on squeezing every dollar out of the customer than providing good service. Turo used to be a great alternative, but now it’s just another platform exploiting users while they take the biggest cut. Very disappointed.

The host experience is awful. Turo has no interest in accommodating hosts anymore. I've lost thousands on damage claims for subjective reasons (absurd amounts deducted from payouts for the most minor scratches). Lost compensation when guests kept vehicles days past their trip end. We can only be compensated for 1 extra day regardless of how long they keep the car. Can't charge smoking fees even with crystal clear evidence. Non reviews count against hosts, etc. Need more space to list the rest...

Knock on wood, I have never had a bad Turo experience. All the owners have always been beneficial and communicative. I have rented in California, Colorado, Oregon, Las Vegas, and more, and as I shared so far, I have never been disappointed.

turo has horrible customer service. we had a nightmare of a trip with a host and his car and they just side with the host & pulled a payment from my card that i DID NOT authorize & did NOT receive my reimbursement for coolant i had to buy for his car. yet the host can keep his car on the website with it overheating and leaking oil and barely able to function after almost leaving us stranded in the middle of the night. just terrible.

If you're considering renting a car from Toro, it may be best to do so only if you need the vehicle within 24 to 48 hours. This is because Toro allows a 24-hour cancellation window after booking, which means if your plans change beyond that timeframe, you won't be eligible for a refund. For trips planned a week or more in advance, it might be wise to explore other rental options that offer more flexible cancellation policies. Overall, renting from Toro can be a good choice for last-minute travel, but for longer-term plans, it may be beneficial to look for alternatives that provide better reassurance regarding refunds. I canceled 8 days prior to my trip and did not receive a refund.

Worst car rental. When we went to pickup the car it looked nothing like in the listing. The car had bald tire with cuts, bumper was busted, scratches all over, and dirty inside. Did not take the car and been fighting for 2 months to get my money back even though they said they would give it back. NEVER rent a car from this company.
