Hi, I got back to your email today regarding this. Our renewal cost is the same cost as placing a new order. You were actually looking at the UK price whereas with you being in the states, this is higher. This means the renewal cost of £79.17 is the same price as that on the website when you change the delivery country appropriately. We cannot offer this at a cost of just the cover price as then we would not be a running business. We do not publish magazines so we get these from a supplier, and must take this cost into account as well as the postage and packaging.

One arrived very promptly ***** ! but the other has yet to arrive :-( boohoo. The ultimate performance is subject to the vagaries of a multitude of transport providers - I do understand that, but the final result was shambolic ..”

However, the good news is the magazine will always be posted first class to ensure delivery before the weekend viewing commences. We do try to keep our pricing as low as we are able. As suppliers of these magazines rather than publishers, we have to take a few things into account including the cover price, postage and packaging costs when selling the magazines. If we are ever able to offer discounts it will be shown on our website or sent directly to our loyal customers! “Having ordered a Private Eye subscription as a Christmas present for my son-in-law I realised that, apart from the invoice, I did not have anything on paper that I could give him as the actual present to confirm what I had done. I telephoned the UM office the week before Christmas to ask whether they had anything that would serve this purpose. I spoke to a really helpful young lady who said that although they didn't really have anything, she had a template that she thought she could adjust to do the job. A couple of days later I received a certificate naming him personally and telling him what the gift was. Needless to say he was delighted. This was wonderful service from the young lady concerned and I can't thank her enough.”
