AVOID VODAFONE!!! My advice to everyone out there. DO NOT USE VODAFONE!!!!! Use some other phone network. It's just not worth it! I wish I could give 0 stars for this review. I've been a Vodafone customer for 10 years now and their customer service in the last 2 years has gone completely down the pan. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had! I'm definitely leaving at the end of my contract. - Terrible experience trying to get through to a phone adviser. Long call hold times. Automatic security doesn't work and is a waste of time. - Phone advisers regularly pass you on to one of their colleagues without telling the colleague anything about your issue and you have to go through security again! - Regularly promise to fix things for you but never do anything - resulting in you having to call them back several times - Constant barrage of pointless offers from them - Constant barrage of surveys on their service. Regularly tell them how bad they are but never get any call back from them to try to resolve it. - Constant technology issues causing incorrect charges to your account - Every call to them is guaranteed to take over 20 minutes. Most take 40 minutes!!! Time wasters!!! - Impossible to get to speak to a manager. Request them to call you back but they never will.

Had such a problem with visa phone over the past year. Told them had no service anywhere with my phone, so I was offered to pay extra for a booster in my home, well then it makes me only able to use my phone at home, I can't take a booster with me everywhere I go. In October last year was sent constant reminders that a bill was due, and the phone had been kept getting cut off since July, which I couldn't understand as it had been set up as a direct debit, after phoning them and finally being able to speak to someone after 35 minutes of waiting, they said they had changed systems in July and our direct debit details had been lost so had been re setup as a pay your bill online/ monthly yourself, which I had no idea about as I hadn't been told. After getting to talk to someone about the problem they said we still owed £200 which we refused to pay as the phone had been cut off each month since July so had no use of the phone whatsoever, said we would pay for what the phone costs each month but not the sim and what comes with it, as it was their fault we were being cut off. After numerous times saying 'our manager will call you back' (DO NOT EVER BELIEVE THIS) after days just sitting with the phone not putting it down, no phone call ever at all. Finally in December I told them I just wanted to cancel the contract, they said I would have to pay the now £290 plus the cancelling costs, amounting to £450 all together to just get out of the contract, I paid it because I just wanted to be out of a contract with this horrid terrible company, causing way too much stress and problems for just a phone! Paid and finally thinking it was finally over, I am now currently on the phone to them as they have still been sending me bills! I do not understand this company! as for people saying it's obviously people's own doing which is why they have problems, is just lucky!! They will mess up your contract as they do everyone else's. PLEASE EVERYONE DO YOURSELVES A FAVOUR AND NEVER EVER JOIN VODAPHONE, AS IT WILL ONLY CAUSE YOU STRESS MONEY PROBLEMS AND YOU WILL NOT GET A GOOD SERVICE FOR YOUR PHONE. I hope VODAPHONE gets fully shut down to stop them from getting anymore money out of people and letting everyone down.

I just don't even have the energy to write a full account of my experience but trust me when I say stay way from Vodafone. Their employees lie, mislead and make false promises. The way the system is set up, you always speak with someone else so they can make all the promises they want to get you off the line without any repercussions. Been with them for almost 20 years and the deals they offer as 'upgrades' are basically the same as what you can get as a new customer at EE. Stay well away!

Dreadful dreadful dreadful. 4 hours trying to get through only to repeatedly be told my number and personal details can't be found on their "new system" and continually get transferred to someone else on the "old system" only to have to wait in a queue all over again. Then to get transferred to a different department i.e returns, only to have to go through the same old system/new system operators and phone queues all over again. Farcical and utterly shambolic. So I purchased a Samsung S7 Edge for £50 p/m with a promise of being able to use the employer discount scheme to save £10 per month. Salesperson confirmed employer was on their list of accepted employers for the discount. Great. Receive phone, try to apply discount after the phone received as instructed, only to be told that in fact employee not on the list at all and no way to get that discount. So I was blatantly lied to then. They say they can't comment on what I was told when ordering (convenient). So I tell them I will cancel under 14 days cooling off period. Another 4 hours trying to speak to someone over two days, eventually get through to retentions who now say they'd be willing to apply the discount after all. Too late I tell them. What a nightmare company to deal with. They agree for me to return the phone a week later I'm still waiting for a flaming return envelope to cancel the order and contract . Do not, I repeat DO NOT use this company, if you want ANY sort of customer service. I have since gone with a 3rd party company and EE and saved £15 per month on the advertised price. Absolutely the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with.

I contacted Vodafone about bad signal in September 2015. After being told it is work being carried out in my area service will return as normal. Now it is April still nothing has changed so I contacted them on the 05/04/16. I was told to buy some form of booster for my home if I have bad signal! When I informed the operator on the line this happens most place I go and I can not see how a booster in my home helps and I would like to raise a formal complaint. I was then told to email or to post a letter as we can not take complaints over the phone! So there for sent an email and I later received a phone call. In this phone call the woman that spoke to me must have been reading a script as this was out of order. I got told we want to make your package better by giving you more internet but it is going to cost you an extra £10! But when I tried to negotiate for a better deal to resolve this problem caused by them I might ad. I was told if you do not wish to except are deal and a £20 credit that is fine. But we do not wish for you to phone again as it will cost you the sum of £20 a phone call for a complaint!! They have given me no choice but to complain to the Ombudsman Service now as I found that to be a threat. I am a paying customer Vodafone and I hold the right to know what I am paying for and if it is of poor quality the right to complain! Sadly Vodafone or should I say Dick Turpin wish to have the sum of £676.09 for me to leave this hellish service of bad signal and poor internet. Please I urge anyone looking for a new phone contract to not go with Vodafone! As they are robbing and do not care as long as they have your money they could not care if they sold you a lemon!

I am into my 4th month of wrangles with this awful company, which started when they sent my phone upgrade to an incorrect address despite me speaking to several different people trying to stop it being sent after receiving a confirmation text, about 3 minutes after arranging the upgrade. I cancelled my upgrade so i could leave at the end of my contract, in 8 weeks. Then 2 months later they suddenly took over £1,000 from my account for the lost phone and another 2 years worth of contract fees. To top it off, they then suggested I go to get the phone from the person who signed for it and SELL it to cover the bill!! Other issues include; charging me £50 for a 'free' handset, overcharging on my monthly payments without explanation and cutting me off after trying to get through for hours. So they now owe me around £1,200. Avoid.

I was woth vodafonw for 2 years. Everything fine until i went to upgrade my phone. Nexus 6 kept turning its self off. Rang to get a replacement and they said they woupd send me a bag to return it to them. I had tobrequest the bag 12 times as it never showed up. In the end i threatened legal action and demanded conpensation. They then sent a courier 2 days later to collect the phone and cancelled my contract. Awful customer service. Awful company

I have been with Vodafone for over 20 years and the service has been OK, but over the past six months it has been appalling. They changed my direct debit but didn't give my bank the correct details and as a consequence the bank refused payment. I told Vodafone about this before they new. and they tried again to present the bill using the same details as before!!. They then turned off my phones, in spite of the fact I had paid my bills for over twenty years by direct debit. After over 20 hours of discussions with numerous people they accepted it was there fault and eventually said they would give me six months free credit to make up for the trouble I was caused, which on the face of it seems fair. The following month the same thing happened and they again eventually were apologetic, but they revoked the six months free that had been given to me previously and reluctantly gave me two months free. During all this time I wasn't able to see my bill online, but somehow the bills started to arrive at my home as hard copy, but on this last bill they have started to charge me for having my bills posted to me, not a lot of money but a very bad principle and awful company practice. I phoned the office in Newbury but the staff there were very unhelpful and actually quite rude and challenging; the company certainly wasn't like this when Lord McClaren was on board. I haven't clicked the box about letting Vodafone know of my concerns because I know it will make no difference whatsoever. Like many others on this thread as I have lost all trust in this company I will be terminating my contract when it expires. Should any-one from Vodafone ever read this very short summary which is doubtful, please be aware that when things go wrong the ethical and best customer practice is to turn a negative into a positive by excellent management of the problems. This has certainly not been my experience.

Had 2 lines and asked for pak code to keep the number, which was sent to me by text, I settled the contract 4 months early and they informed me it was now cancelled. 10 months later I realised to my stupidity that I was still paying £47 PCM for the line that I cancelled, I contacted them and they cancelled the line there and then but they cancelled the line that I still wanted, called them again and they reinstated that line and told me that I would receive refund of £470. I then receive a text saying that I'm now into a new 2 year contract on the phone that they mistaking lay cancelled, I call and after hours on the phone manage to sort that. I call 1 week later to question my refund and am told that I never used the pak code so I won't be getting a refund I said that this was never explained to me and asked to hear the recorded conversation, never had the promised reply from Vodafone. I call again and they tell me that they have listened to the conversation and it was explained, I tell them that I want to hear the conversation, promise of reply never received then I receive a huge bill for 3 lines on my contract ( I only have 1 line) they sort error and promise £266 refund. Never received! They are liars and thieves and a company like Vodafone has no place in the society we live in, they take money as they feel fit from you're bank account and you dare to cancel the DD for the fear of a bad credit rating. Gone to tesco mobile now.

I wish I could go back to EE but I'm locked into expensive contracts with vodafone. They won't give me the data I'm paying for and won't listen to me when I complain. The last time I complained they sent my account login details to strangers. So now I'm too scared to complain again. I really wish I could leave now. Vodafone are THIEVES.

never ever would i go with vodafone and never would recomend them to nyone..since january of this year my husband has had nothing but diabolical customer service from them...after trying to cancel my daughters contract who was on the same bill with my husband..they have failed to cancel it after numerous phone calls they cancelled my husbands contract instead and leaving him withought any phone for 10 days with promises that it will be put back on in 24hrs but once again failed promises...it then gets put back on after 10 days and then gets a bill for 171 pound as they cancel his contract again without any futher notice..eveything is vodafones fault as my husband has never failed to make his payments to them...after long arguments and them cutting phone calls short because they know they at fault he has had no alternative than to get the ombudsman involved..so one thinking of going with vodafone i would strongly recommend you steer well away from them unless you want diabolical service ..rude customer service agents and months and months of arguments to try and cancel a contract when contract is due to finish

The standard of Customer Service with this Company is crap.On the 26th Feb 2016 I went into their shop on the shopping centre where I live and asked them for a PAC Number and a settlement figure for my wifes phone, and was told you will have to ring 191 we don't do this. When I got home I told my wife she had to ring 191 which she did, when she finally got through to a person she told him that she wanted a PAC Number and a settlement figure,he then went into a sales pitch, stating that they could do the phone and tariff cheaper than the company we had gone to,my wife kept telling this person that she was not interested but he just carried on,in the end she was yelling down the phone telling him to give her the information she asked for. On the 1st March I wrote and posted a letter to their complaints department,on the 22nd March I had not had a reply so I wrote another letter and posted this along with a copy of the 1st letter by Registered Delivery so I would have a signature for receipt. This let was delivered on the 24th March at 08-25am,it is now the 28th and I have not had a reply or anyother form of contact with them. I only gave this a 1 star so I could write the review in actual fact it is worth minus 10 stars.

Echoing what other people have experienced, it seems that the only way to pursue a complaint with Vodafone is through ADR or a small claims court. Their customer service is non-existent and they don't adhere to even their own complaints policy so what chance do we have? I entered into a new contract with them December 2015. Hadn't had any problems before, but they cacked that up. My mobile minutes were missing and I was supposed to have 2GB of data, but only 1GB was recorded. I naturally queried this when I got through my 2nd confirmation email (the original received on the day I selected the contract was absolutely fine). That email stated I was within my 14 day withdrawal period. Don't trust the advisors when they say: "I've sorted that for you." Or even if they say they see your minutes on the screen. Or even if they put you on hold to speak to a retentions advisor to sort out your data. They won’t have. Or if they do anything, it won’t be a permanent fix. I was an idiot for trusting them. Naturally, my January 2016 bill was wrong and my subsequent call to resolve that was a nightmare. I then moved to writing to them after speaking to Consumer Helpline. Vodafone never got back to me even after two letters, both sent recorded delivery. They’re just not interested. Now that over 8 weeks have passed, it’s in Ofcom’s hands. If you have a complaint with Vodafone, do it in writing – if you phone them, keep a note of all the dates, names and times. Keep a log. Anything you send to them, keep a copy for yourself and send it recorded/signed for mail. Whatever you can use against them to build your case, use it. They only dig bigger holes for themselves. If 8 weeks have gone by, go straight to the Ombudsman. Vodafone won’t lift a finger to help you. Not on their own. Don’t go with this company.
