“Contractor working on my floor failed to follow instructions & cut heating wire (the blue one on the orange mesh) after being told by us to "Not cut" the wire because we wanted more area heated. Initial call to CS told indicated that heater positively would not work w/o a patch kit...and that cutting off wire would dramatically increase the amperage (which puzzled me, as usually a longer wire has increased resistance which increases amperage). I immediately ordered a patch kit. But it arrived shortly after contractor talked to CS & made his "fix." When contractor called CS, he understood that all he had to do was connect the two wires (not the bare ground), seal off the end of the wire, and that it would work. He didn't test as instructed, but did check continuity. After tile was laid, he checked for heat, The floor did get warm, but very slowly and not to the extent of that under our original tile that was laid ~6 yr ago. Contractor said it was because of slower drying glue. Glue he used was not thinset, but something easier to work with that takes way longer to set/dry. If rating the original heating wire installation, TOP Marks would be awarded across the board. This time the rating of adequate was marked because of the comment saying that shorter wire increases amperage - which I understand is the opposite of what happens (longer wire has more resistance & requires more amperage??? But maybe I'm wrong?)”

“I love the performance of the floor. It warms as expected, and the thermostat adds a nice touch for warming the floor for the times I plan to use it. However the construction of the mats has a weakness. The mesh used to attach the mats to the floor joists can pull loose from the foil if the coiled wire is left hanging too long before hooking up the wiring. It seems that only the adhesive on the foil backing hold the mesh. I was able to repair the mats with a combination of foil tape and strips of wood to hold the mats up. I do appreciate the help I got from technical support at Watts Water.”

If something happens within this timeframe, please call us and we will assist you. We can also walk you through troubleshooting a thermostat to see if you need a new one. “The gentleman with whom I spoke initially (Aaron, I believe) was very knowledgeable and courteous. While I was initially directed to A local Home Depot or Lowes, neither store actually had the product in stock. A subsequent call to your company yielded great results. (I again spoke to Aaron, who earlier mentioned I should call him back directly, if I needed further assistance) The Order was placed and arrived as promised. Installation was easy and straight forward. I would highly recommend your store to others. The cats are very happy, as are we, with our warm floors. Thank you”
