We have stayed at Warner’s since 2006 and always had a great time, we constantly recommended Warners to friends and family but having just spent 4 nights at Holme Lacy we were very disappointed with the standard of food and service. We must add that the majority of the staff were friendly and polite, but having paid £200 for our evening meals it certainly was not value for money. The food was cold, overcooked, uninspiring, the menu range was very poor. We were bitterly disappointed. We did miss the carvery and hope that Warner will reinstate the breakfast and evening meal experience. We are aware of the present circumstances (COVID) but hope that when normality returns Warner’s will as well.

Five of us enjoyed our break at Corton BUT the following are irritations. Decent furniture outside the chalets. £5 added to the price of a bottle of wine and general increase in drinks prices. Poor quality wine list. Diet lemonade on tab for diabetics. No coasters. No shop - come on we need a shop. More entertainment during the day. Don't touch the plates-where is the sign. Staff have trays to clear the tables. £60 for a patio, come on make you money up some other way.

Spa break that I booked was not available as only one member of staff works on Monday, and she was fully booked up months or before On my arrival other leisure facilities were closed for one and 1/2 hours when it reopened there was too many people who wanted to use it so this was not available also Raised concerns with the on site manager who became very aggressive dismissive and unprofessional

Our stay at Nidd Hall starting 19th July was disappointing. Room 181 a signature room was dark and dismal, the light was turned on for reading in daylight hours. The view from the porthole window was the roof! There was a leak from the bathroom sink which was reported to the house keeper who organised a plumber who couldn’t fix the problem that day but never came back. We were told that we couldn’t change the room. We later found that the leak had not been reported to reception and also that we were mis informed about a room change. The head receptionist offered us a change on Wednesday evening, we declined as we were leaving on Friday morning. In fairness she gave us a discount on our drinks bill, a service accepted reluctantly. The restaurant was way below the usual Warner standard. We had problems with the restaurant manager who was rude and incapable of dealing with clients with mobility problems. There is a one way system in the restaurant but as my husband uses a scooter we had to enter through the exit. The system of booking in each meal meant that we were left waiting on more than one occasion. We were allocated a table on the first evening because of our limitations but on more than one occasion other people were sitting at it. He made no attempt to solve this problem in fact telling us it wasn’t his fault if other guests sat there, clearly he had directed them to that table! During our stay when ordering drinks etc. We were asked if we had a Warner card. I had had an email asking me to register and had done so. This was our fifth visit to Warners. A silver card arrived today with a covering letter which said that you were pleased that we had enjoyed our FIRST break with you. Do you not have customer records? I am regularly emailed by you company so someone knows us! I have read other reviews on line and it would seem I am not the only disappointed customer. We have all had a hard time of late but the fact remains that Warner holidays are not inexpensive. We have always felt we had value for money but not this time. Perhaps the biggest disappointment is what appears to be the lack of communication. I have filled in the feedback form and tried to email about our break. Perhaps the company is a little blinkered just now, my advice is read your reviews and speak to you customers while you still have them.

We left a day early, we just couldn't face another meal! Sad to say the food at Littlecote was awful, our first dinner was tepid the full English breakfast was cold the eggs were well over cooked, to make things worse the replacement dishes were wrapped in cling film under a light waiting for the current trays to be used, heaven only knows what that was like! Moving on to the evening meal we both had lamb shanks (tepid) cold greasy roast potatoes and cold vegetables. The last straw was breakfast on our penultimate day eggs royale brought to us instantly after ordering stone cold, we couldn't take anymore sorry Warner unless you go back to pre-Covid standards we will not return.

The hotel @ Holme Lacy was good, grounds & facilities but the food was badly cooked & not up to previous standard. Hake like cardboard, lamb shank could not get my fork in, items missing from plate & since when was an omelette some beaten egg cooked flat. Very disappointing & quite a jump in the price. Valerie

We had a 4 day Gold Break at Gunton Hall Suffolk, re-booked from April 2020 owing to the Pandemic. The staff are always chatty and helpful. On a previous visit in June 2021 to Gunton Hall we made a complaint about slow waiter/waitress service in the Theatre (we waited 30 minutes to be served drinks). This has now been addressed and the staffing levels have improved. We still have a gripe concerning the price of alcoholic drinks and lunch time food. We tend to lunch off site now and limit ourselves to no more than two drinks each in the evening. The quality of the food was adequate but not as good as in pre-pandemic times. Would like to see the return of the evening carvery and self service salad bar. There are still no salad options on the evening menu. If you require a coffee after dinner it still has to be purchased as a separate item. Our week was a Gold 4 night break, with ballroom, and sequence dancing offered. The resident band played only 4 ballroom dances before they moved onto general disco dancing. The lack of ballroom and Latin dancing was disappointing and not as advertised. To warrant the increase cost of the holiday package, drinks and lunch time food we feel Warners need to up their game to pre-pandemic levels and give us back the experience we used to look forward to every time we booked.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 day break at Littlecote House Hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay; the grounds are lovely with plenty of quiet sitting out areas and the roman remains are well worth a visit. The included activities are a definite plus point. The breakfast and dinner menus offered a good variety of choice, the food was well cooked and presented and the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, while overall masks were generally worn indoors and arrangements generally provided reasonable distancing, this was not the case for the late evening entertainment in the main theatre. Very few people wore masks and spacing was at best minimal. This was made significantly less safe when the audience was encouraged to stand up and join in the singing, which large numbers did. We felt unsafe and left. As a consequence, and for this reason only, we will not be visiting a Warner hotel again during the present pandemic.

Holme Lacey Warner Hotel. Lack of staff in restaurant, 30 minute wait time from being sat at table to order being taken. Evening entertainment whilst waiting for the main event on the Saturday evening, which was an Abba tribute group, who were good, the entertainment manager decided to put on smutty music videos for 45 minutes, which were totally inappropriate for the type of audience. I was disgusted that he continued to play them, even though I made a complaint and people were walking out.

Just stayed at Holme Lacy Hotel. On the whole a nice hotel with pleasant and helpful staff. Disappointed that one of the electric car charging points didn’t work so only one available for whole hotel. Biggest problem was the lack of meal choice for vegetarians. Only one choice of main course so if you didn’t like anything you were up the creak without a paddle. The first night was given an omelette as could not eat the mushroom dish on offer. The last evening it was a curry and I was informed that the kitchen was busy so wouldn’t be able to offer an alternative. I ended up with the soup starter as a main course. No air conditioning in any of the bedrooms. No sleep during our 4 night stay. Provision of small fan that just circulated the hot air around. Air conditioning in restaurant didn’t work until our last night.

We are holidaying at the Lakeside Coastal Resort, Hayling Island. Chalet is adequate but shower was a ridiculous size, far too small and with handrail in there I kept bumping myself. Menu very limited had trouble some nights finding something to eat. Also drinks were very expensive. Entertainment was not bad but not a fan of West End musicals, found there was a bit to much of that. Resident band Central Park were very good but Rebecca needs to stop doing her squeaks, she is not Michael Jackson and it spoilt an otherwise enjoyable evening. Staff very helpful and polite. Will not be taking any more Warner’s breaks, it was just not for us.

Having returned from bembridge on Isle of Wight we complained that our sea view room did not have a sea view at all. We sat looking at the bowling green (through the bushes) and a car park area. Also paid extra for a signature room which was looking quite tired. Have stayed in better standard rooms elsewhere. The menu was very limited and appeared to be budget controlled. Will be pleased to see them return to their great buffets after the lockdown is lifted.

We had a weekend break booked at Nidd Hall starting on 9 July but had a telephone call from Warner’s on 2 July to say our break was cancelled due to COVID restrictions. As this was the fourth or fifth time we had to postpone we decided to get our money refunded. We then had an email from Warner’s saying we had instigated the cancellation which just added insult to injury so we decided to complain about the way this had been handled. Eventually managed to locate and complete a complaint form but also tried to speak to someone at the hotel to let them know how disappointed we were. After waiting almost an hour to be put through to someone we gave it up as a bad job. We have been customers of Warner’s for many years and like going to Nidd Hall but think we’ll try elsewhere in future.

We have just retuned from a 5day stay at Thorpe Park. Very disappointed . To summarise only book if you like 20 min wait for bar service, 20 to 30 wait in a corridor for meals served in a covered internal courtyard with cafe style seating and no ambience. Limited menu. Food variable. Soggy roast potatoes was a shame as it spoiled a good roast beef meal. Staff doing their best considering their shortage in numbers. Rooms clean and well serviced. The old building is fabulous, and having Thorpe Park next door is a great benefit. So Sad.
