“Very pricey postage for a lightweight fleece”

We charge a standard rate for shipping per order - for the majority of the items we sell, this will be slightly less than our actual courier costs. Inevitably some items we sell are much smaller/lighter. We prefer to charge a sensible postage rate which reflects the average cost of shipping, rather than to inflate the individual item costs as some businesses do. We also offer free shipping at a certain order value - please see our websit e for the latest offers!

“I was very happy with the price and the products available. Unfortunately what let the transaction down was the delivery. The items arrived in a very battered state, the packaging all ripped and crumpled, normally I would have sent them back but needed the items for a camping trip.”

We're sorry to hear the parcel arrived like this - however, please note that we do reuse boxes sometimes to ensure that goods are adequately protected. We do hope that the contents of the box were in good condition.

“Products good, as required and the best price I could find. Delivery would have been prompt apart from the fact that my delivery instructions were not noted and I was out. They did not leave next door or in my safe place. I rearranged and stayed home to accept delivery which came on time. Packaging was very secure. But sticky tape had been put across labels of bottled chemicals so that printing was removed when unwrapping. One bottle only contains 350ml rather than 400ml. Not the company fault, but they need to be aware and check. Will order from World of Camping again and be aware to send delivery to work next time.”

“Good bits: products are very good, and phone call about delivery was answered promptly and courteously. Bad bits: The delivery took a lot longer than expected or promised. The two halves of the bubble packaging of the head torch had separated, the batteries were rolling around in the bulk packaging at the bottom of the parcel - we could easily have thrown them away.... It would be a good idea to secure those with sticky tape before dispatching.”

“Maybe you should show stock levels of things on internet as I ordered something that nearly 24 hours later you told me was out of stock till following week apart from that seemed pretty helpful”

“We ordered a Quest toilet tent and a pack of 4 'camping' toilet rolls.. The order was delivered within 2 days which was very good. However, 2 of the toilet rolls were loose rather than wrapped which didn't seem that hygienic and the other pack of 2 had been opened, again why? The toilet tent came with no instructions whatsoever. We are complete camping beginners so had it been made clear on the product description that there were no instructions we probably wouldn't have bought it. The poles are joined with elastic, which came loose as we tried to put up the tent and it took a long time to get it reconnected securely. One of the pole segments is cracked. The guy ropes seem inadequate and the tent pegs are flimsy. we will be buying more of each I don't think we would recommend this product but the delivery time was good, however I'm not sure we would buy again online until we have more experience”

“The picture of what I was buying was not clear so I phoned up. One of the questions I thought would be easy to answer was how long are individual section. The sales person did not seem to know either. So I took a risk and ordered. not exactly what I wanted, but I can cut them to length.”

“as a shop, i called them to see how long the delivery would take and to see if did trade accounts, the lady who answered the call said 5-7 working days delivery, would be nice if this is stated on there site and as far as trade sales go she said send a email to the director and he will see if he is interested. overall opion is they do not need buisness and are not interested in trade sales which are normally large items, i did order 17 items.”

Delivery to France will always take longer than standard UK delivery, and is usually quicker than the timeframe specified - however, bank hoidays can create a longer wait. We are always ready to consider business offers when directed through the proper channels, if you would like to contact our directors with a proposition then they will of course consider the possibilities - however we are primarily a business-to-customer company.

“Good site easy to use and pay for item, have only given 3 stars as the item I wanted was out of stock, only informed days after placing the order. I expect these days to be told something is out of stock before I pay for it. In fairness though they cancelled the order at my request and refunded my payment. My advice is that your website should show stock or no stock.”

“Unfortunately my order got lost somewhere in your system and I had to chase it up. It then did not arrive on the stated day but was found in the carrier's depot in Birmingham. Staff member James was however helpful in sorting things out.”

Once we have entrusted a parcel to the courier for delivery, in the vast majority of cases they reach the customer as promptly as expected - however, delays may occasionally take place due to weather or transit issues. “While the delivery of our fire was prompt we were disapointed with the fire itself. While it does heat the room, when it is on the first setting the flame is not visible at all, so that you have to keep it at the higher setting so that the coals with go red. With a living flame fire expected a much better looking inset. Coals look dreadful and fake. Disapointing fire all round.”
