On 12 Sept I ordered a mobile phone online for £269.95 and marked as delivery within 5 days. It's now 25 Sept and after 3 online chat sessions I've been told that the courier ( UK Mail )have lost the parcel and that this will take weeks to investigate before I can get a refund. I have tried to point out that delivery is their responsibility but they say there's nothing they can do. I have tried to complain through the ombudsman but Argos are not a member of the ombudsman service and they don't have a complaints dept. Following the advice of Citizens Advice I have to right to their Head Office giving 2 weeks to put it right or give me a full refund.

Wtf has happened to Argos of late? They’re customer care has always been a bit shabby but recently it’s reached diabolical levels. A simple small item taking weeks to be delivered?? Then when you make queries to find out where item is/when it’ll be delivered, you’re pushed from pillar to post, fed false info & given the run around. I think Argos is a place where you just purchase items that can be seen/collected at same time from store. Home delivery?? Nah forget it! They don’t know their armpit from their arse & customer service is an absolute joke. Clearly austerity has also hit customer service dept hard.

Very disappointing delivery ,false delivery date I bought this bed with a delivery estimate of 5days. I booked this time off work to decorate and swap my girls bedroom then to be told 5wks! Argos offered me £5 free delivery which was free anyway. The supplier and argos then bounced me about with my enquiries, there wasn’t enough stock, it needs 2 men to deliver, we never said 5days etc. It finally came 5wks later scratched in places and with fixings missing.

Argos- bought a 230 pound tablet, took it out of the box, turned in on, two days later wanted to return it and they said now, no refund because it's used, wont be using them again, ill buy online like i used to as you can return goods, why shop on the streets with the big boys when they just try and screw you so you buy online and they can eventually close stores and do it all online ps plus the store was full of scummers,

Tried to get a bed and a sofa with you. The worst company I could have chosen! Was supposed to be delivered last Saturday and now i am being told this will be delivered this Thrusday. You have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. The most useless customer service people absolutely unwilling to help!

Absolutely appalling customer service. Argos has gone out of their way to make it impossible to access customer services in any meaningful way, other than talking to the human robots they have trained to fob off any customer requests or complaints rather than trying to solve them. And why does Argos think they are exempt from giving their customers a proper receipt for their online purchases? Sure, they say they will post you one - but then don’t bother - 9 out of 10 times!!!

checked both in store online and a promise of 5 days delivery was made. I was then told 2 weeks. The order was made for 12-2pm today and was rung at 1:45 to be told it would not be delivered for another 6 weeks as you have an issue with a van and then hung up on. For a large company as yourselves im sure you have more than 1 operating van. This is truly unacceptable behaviour to take peoples money and then delay the order with such a pathetic excuse. You have failed multiple times in the past and can see reading your facebook page this isn't a rare occurrence. Your customer service is the worst i have encountered both in store and on phone and your only way of making a complaint is through email. For a modern day company i think you'll agree is laughable. I have never felt so angry and let down by any company. I will ensure ratings and reviews will be left on every site including trust pilot and will highly recommend my friends and family to avoid Argos at all costs. Absolutely pathetic for such a large company, you should be ashamed of the way you operate and hopefully the British public avoid your services at all costs

Cheaper elsewhere, I would recommend ao.com for appliances. Delivery dates changed with no notice, told conflicting information and blatantly lied to by different staff members via live chat and phone. Customer service is utterly appalling, worst of any place I have ever purchased from.

Delivery date changed - no reason given. Called customer service - no information on why Launched chat service - no information until I pushed - then they said it was a problem with the delivery driver but would not elaborate. This was an evening delivery, so it seems to me the delivery driver has decided to clock off and Argos don't want to admit that. To top it off, when I asked for a complaints form, they said the only way to complain is with physical postage. I'm gobsmacked by how amateur the whole thing was handled and have ordered from Amazon instead

I would not give them and stars if I didn’t have to Argos customer service is a joke the are ignorant and arrogant and tell lies I asked for an online order to be cancelled only to be told by the time they do called read my email that it was ready to be dispatched do wouldn't cancel it even though I emailed them with 5 mins of placing the order as couldn’t get through on the customer service line as was in the evening I asked them to stop the dispatch to be told no I had to refuse the delivery when it came but with previous experience with couriers they just leave the item anyway and as I’m not going to be home and I live next to a public footpath items are not secure I then got a message to say the item had already been dispatched before they read my email so basically sonebody was telling lies. anyway after lots of emails to them and getting the same answer they can’t stop a delivery even if it hasn’t been dispatched I am making people aware of their very poor customer service Obviously another big company that only see ££££ signs

Ordered online and my delivery didn't arrive at my address. It was delivered though and currently under investigation as the courier they use didn't even get a signature. If it's not found no refund or replacement so I'm out of pocket. I'm not a happy customer and only gave one star to make this review as I would have given none if I could have.

Terrible customer service! Argos tried to deny that they receive my payments on time. Avoid because all they try to do is add their interests. Money were transferred before the plan was due yet Argos argue they respect the date they receive the money. Absolutely joke. Spent half an hour on the phone and yet did not hear any explanation.

Ordered a table and 4 chairs, only to find out that the one of the main components, the chair seat was missing. I went into store and was told that there is no spare parts available and will have to wait. When asked how long i have to wait, i was given the answer 'I don't know'. Which is frustrating answer to say the least. At this point majority of the table was built as there was 3 boxes, I was going through them one by one. Contacted customer services the following day and was told the same 'i don't know’ answers and to wait a week as they should get delivery in. Contacted again the following week and was told to wait another week as they are expecting a delivery. At this point i logged a complaint. No point logging a complaint as they do nothing, Absolutely nothing!! Anyway, contacted the following week and was told they have one available in a store 25 miles away. they would not send it to a closer store and as I was heading that way on the day so i thought i would collect it. Anyways, two weeks later, popping into a store, me personally chasing the missing part (at least 60 minutes on the phone over 3 telephone calls), you would think I would get some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. It was me who was chasing Argos for a part that already should have been in the box. Imagine buying something and not being sold the finished article and the person you bought it off wasn’t doing anything about it. This is exactly what Argos were doing! If you want that service go ahead and purchase from Argos but you are better of going to somewhere that will treat you better and get things sorted. What did the complaints department say to me...Write in to head office!! i mean who writes nowadays, it’s all email or live chat. erm excuse me..do you want to resolve complaints. Clearly not! The point of the story is, i have never witnessed such bad service from anywhere like this before, the complaints department probably made it worse and do not care what they sell. i will not be buying from Argos and will be recommending my family and friends to do the same. i probably won’t be writing it as it is not worth the hassle or wasting anymore of my time with Argos. My complaint is probably still left open but they most likely have loads open and just leave them to rot. This experience has made me realise how important service is when purchasing an item from a company
