Went into the new, ultra small, Argos within Sainsburys in Chesterfield. Wasn't that busy but customers were being told their items could not be found. From what i could gather they had paid for their items online and were picking them up...or so they thought. No terminals to pay for items reserved online so you have to queue with customers purchasing items instore and then queue up for your item. If this gets busy i can see problems with customers getting frustrated and fists flying. By the looks of it Argos are on their way out.

Purchased a two night getaway for £149.99 contacted a hotel to upgrade our room to be told because activity superstore only pay the hotel £50 for redeeming the voucher this is all they can subtract from a better room booking (so i payed £150 for a voucher worth £50 to the hotel) spoke to customer services who told me the voucher is non refundable if activated ( but u need to activate it to see the hotels) ! Contacted argos to complain on 6 separate occasions each person I explained this to in customer services were shocked, finally spoke with a manager who told me its out of his hands if i want to complain put it in writing. This borders fraud, I understand activity superstore who provide the vouchers are already being looked into by trading standards, the fact argos associate themselves with these criminals only shows the character of the bosses high up in argos i guess! Were gunna rob you and what u gunna do about it......

I bought an acer tablet and worked fine then the screen inside cracked due to no fault of my own and was told they would send it away and if they can’t fix it they would replace it but then was told it was accidental damage and that wouldn’t happen without force and I can honestly say nothing happened to it it was 4 months and said I wasn’t covered by warranty which is ridiculous surely if they hadn’t opened it which they hadn’t they just looked at the it and sent it back stating that it had to have been dropped which I know it hadn’t been so I’m left with a brand new tablet which doesn’t work and they have wiped their hands off it !!

Brought an electrical item, tried it at home on carpet not picking up. Took back to store who did a pathetic attempt to pick up on hard floor and refused to accept back! Staff and manager at Chester rude and unhelpful- online customer services no better at helping. Avoid this store, Ellesmere and Caldy Valley much nicer experience!

Terrible customer service passed off to a third party who thought that telling me an hour before was appropriate notice for delivering a fridge. After rearranging the delivery time the product didn't even work so we had to do it all again...

Had a fridge freezer delivered and they ripped my flooring in the kitchen and hallway. Now refusing to take matter further as drivers clearly have said it’s not them. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!

Ordered a new mattress from Argos three weeks ago, as well as paying an extra £20 for removal of the old mattress. It was clearly stated that the bag to put the old mattress in would be sent via first class delivery. Two weeks later it still hadn't arrived so I gave Argos a call. The woman on the phone said it was still early days and the bag should arrive on time, and if it doesn't, then the delivery driver carries spare bags anyway so it won't be an issue. Today is the day that the new mattress is delivered and the old one gets taken away and still no sign of the bag. The delivery driver also doesn't have any bags with him and is puzzled as to why I was told that they would be carrying spare bags as they never have done. I now have my old mattress in my living room, leaning against my sofa. I live in a small house so there is literally no where else that I can put it. I have small children that could be seriously injured if a 45KG mattress was to fall on them, so the living room is now out of bounds. Just called Argos and explained the situation to them, only to be told that they won't be able to collect the old mattress until 8th May at the earliest. So the only safe option now is for my children to stay in their bedroom for the next 9 days. If Argos doesn't have enough drivers, how difficult would it have been for them to outsource the job to to a removal company, as this is ultimately their error. Absolutely disgusted by the way Argos have just brushed this situation aside. I will be putting forward a complaint to the ombudsman and will NEVER shop with Argos again!

Still not got my refund. Complained to the MD whose office have said it was a technical problem with the refund. Will now take another 5 days. so that will be over 3 weeks. It's like dealing with Del boy. The chap that has been dealing with me via e-mail gave me his phone number. GUESS WHAT, ALWAYS ENGAGED.... If you think that you may need to return goods, don't bother. This lot seem to be going the way of Woolworths and all that other bunch that have gone to the wall recently.

They promise a refund between 5 to 7 working days. It doesn't arrive. I rang just now and spoke to Richard from seemingly somewhere near Liverpool. He said that I was condescending and when I asked to speak with his manager he said that he would see if he or she would take the call. I waited a minute or so on the phone then they cut me off.

I returned a brush cutter 9.4.18 and I'm still waiting for them to return my payment after 9 days. They're quick to accept my money but not so quick to return it. The customer service girls just keep saying that the refund has been processed, call again tomorrow if you don't get it. Very unhelpful.

I brought a petface house scratcher back in November, and it has broken already. Haven’t even lasted a year, only has it for 5 months.

They sold products not fit for purpose. Despite independent proof they refused to refund on a technicality. Their products, management and customer services are not fit for purpose. I hope they go out of business to save future customers from their services

I ordered a dryer and I have received it and all was well. But a month later I noticed from my bank statement that I have been charged twice on same day for the same amount. I got in contact with Argos customer support and was advised that I have placed two orders and received two of the same item. I was referred to PayPal as the payment processor. I raised the dispute on PayPal website and Argos wants me to obtain a police crime reference for the fact that I have received one delivery on same day rather than two; I think it's a joke to deal with a simple order. Argos use their own drivers and like all courier; must keep proof of delivery (POD) which is a standard process. I would advise anyone using Argos online ordering to double check their statement after the order and do not expect anything from customer service if anything goes wrong. I won’t be using Argos again obviously.

Easier and quicker to state what went right- absolutely nothing. Disgrace of a company with woeful customer services. Items are always damaged/ broken and/or "2nd hand" previous returns. Then to get any comeback, they want you to jump through hoops. I posted a review on Trustpilot and the asked me to respond via social media. Lol They had my details from my order# but still wanted me to FB/ tweet them. Then they sent a survey which, at the end, asked if I wanted contact. I ticked yes and it stated they'd be in contact within 48hrs. That was last week. That's their customer service in a nutshell. Avoid. Buy decent furniture from a decent supplier.
