“The store itself is good but the delivery service was awful. I ordered food with Asda and booked a home delivery. My time slot was between 20.00 and 22.00.
When the delivery was due I received a text message that my driver Kwaku was on his way. At 23.00 still no info. Waited a longer and went to bed at 0.00. Still no delivery or any information. Next day I called the customer service and asked what happened. They were not able to see what happened but were able to rebook the slot.
Next slot would be today 10th September. Again between 20.00 and 22.00. So I wait and wait. Again just a text that my driver Kwaku is on his way. No more information. I call the customer service. They tell me apologies and that he is delayed. So I wait but nothing. Again waited a whole evening and no delivery at all. Very bad delivery service won't order anything from them again.”
“ASDA only care about profits it seems, asda boldon i believe are not restricting the numbers of customers attending the store or it seems looking at the growing number of customers not wearing face coverings.the once oneway system has been abandoned leaving older customers and those hard working staff on the shop floor open to infection by covid.its no longer fun to go shopping because of the constant worry..”
“Did my weekly shop today and was appalled with the ladies service on the checkout. Most ladies wait till most shopping is on the belt, but not this lady. She threw everything down the belt piling up .Then sat checking her phone several times why I went through my shopping to pack my bags. I couldn’t believe her attitude. Obviously her phone was more important. I never complain as I know they work very hard in the store. I took note ov her name badge which was Lee. Won’t b going to her checkout again.”
“Went to asda scunthorpe this morning and what a mess very disappointing only people in there were staff collecting online shopping and leaving there trolleys in the middle of a aisle also looked like a pallet of sugar allover the shop floor i use to do online shopping which i payed for but when the lockdown happened i lost my place which was not happy about i will not shop here again till they get there fi ger out and sort things out ive shopped here for over 30 years”
“Asda having recently switched providers for their credit card have left their customers, who are owed money (by the previous provider of Asda cards) high and dry.
The Asda Credit Card was closed on 13 June and we are still owed nearly £600 by the company. Some others are owed much more but Asda have effectively washed their hands of the whole matter. This is customer service at its worst and shows Asda’s contempt for their customers.”
“Has anyone else tried to stop the 40p charge for plastic bags which is automatically add to your click and collect bill with no way to remove it bit of con i take my own bags so why charge me 40p have been onto asda but they can not tell me why i can not remove this charge RIGHT CON”
“I live near Asda at Longbenton, so it’s logical I shop there. However I have been disappointed with them for a long time. Most of the time, half of the shelves are empty, is was like this before Covid and is still the same now.
Yesterday I went there and none of the staff are wearing masks, even those shopping for home deliveries. On top on this this, lots of shoppers were not wearing masks. It makes it a farce for those wearing them.
I have now decided to boycott Asda and will no longer shop there.”
“since the onset of the virus , staff at asda skelton have become increasingly unhelpful and rude !! things barked at us like " you can't go down that aisle " and " wait there till I tell you come to a checkout " etc just got a tad too much and I left my trolley full of goods and left the store , went to aldi just opposite , didn't have to queue pleasant helpful staff , got everything I wanted and saved £20 on the shop !! surprised asda has any customers left , I certainly will never shop at asda again !!”
“You have no right to charge a customer £10.00 for a delivery because they have spent under £40.I live alone am disabled am unable to drive.Youre not a private company so you can’t take from customers to pay your staff. Also some of your customer services staff are rude and never seem to be able to help.Plesse reduce your increased charge threshold to £30”
“Disappointing and frustrating trip to Llandudno ASDA today. may I start by saying my husband works for ASDA at Rhyl so we are very aware of problems caused by the coronavirus. we just went in to buy a few bits we couldn't find at the Rhyl store. We took our place in the Checkout queue, standing the requisite 2-m from all other customers. We were third in a queue of 5. as the lady in front of me moved to the far end of the Checkout I started to put our shopping on the conveyor belt. the cashier asked me not to as she wanted the belt clear between customer's and so I stopped. my husband hadn't heard her and started to put the shopping on the counter. I asked him not to and took the shopping off so the belt was clear noticing all the other check outs had customers filling the conveyor belts with their shopping I queried why. she said it was to keep us all safe. I wondered why the other checkouts were not doing the same and she had no reply. the two people queing behind me also queried this and we agreed it seems strange this was the only checkout operating in this way. at all times my husband and I were keeping the requisite 2-m from all other customers. when I queried the Checkout girl again on why she was following this strange procedure when no others seemed to be she called her a supervisor. before we knew it we were surrounded by 6 members of staff all telling us that it is at the Checkout Girls discretion as to how she runs her check out. at this point I told one of the supervisors she was standing way too close to my husband, given the fact that we were all trying to stay 2 m apart following their procedures. Her reply was that my husband had moved closer to her which wasn't the case and we asked her to check her CTV to confirm this. But she had no intention of doing so. realising we were wasting our time and being put at risk by the very people tasked with ensuring our safety, all 8 of us now gathered around 1 checkout by this point, we decided just to continue and get out of the store to save people behind us waiting any longer but then the cashier who had caused all the problem refused to serve us so I left the goods on the Checkout belt and headed to customer service where I asked to speak to a manager. a young man quickly came down to see us but it was obvious to us that no further action or inquiry into this issue would be taken when he reiterated that is at the check out girls discretion as to how she runs her check out. I would reiterate here, again, that my husband and I are very aware of how to keep ourselves and others safe during the pandemic. we are well able to read and follow signs if there had been a sign on the Checkout that says do not place your products on the Checkout until the Checkout is clear we could have saved having this problem.
If there were a sign saying our cashiers make up the rules as they go along,we would have known what to expect.
At no point were we causing a danger to other customers or staff,
in fact the opposite is true we were surrounded by 6 members of staff, breaking their own 2metre social distancing rule, none of whom could be found anywhere when I was looking earlier to find where the eggs were!”
“Bought 3 sets of towels and as alawys give them a good wash before use .. 5 washes later and no joy as they keep leaving skin covered in bits of material .. Worst ever”
“Bought 2 bags of Jam Doughnuts this morning with today’s date on. Looked forward to having one with our coffee when we got home. Apart from being on the small side, they were horribly dry and hard. Only place for them was the bin. Have given one star as there was jam in them. Sorry Asda won’t be wasting my money on them again. Unable to return them to the Trowbridge store.”
“So I went to Asda yesterday to do some shopping and I couldn't find any bags to put my fruit and vegetables in.
After asking a member of staff to get the bags I was approached by the manager who told me that they will no longer provide their customers with bags. Instead, I colud purchase one of their tiny, useless "reusable" bags for only 30 pence each. When I told her that I'm not willing to mix dirty potatoes with apples and lemons and I'm not willing to put a mesh bag with dirty vegetables inside my shopping bag she gave me quite a lot of attitude.
I left the store and drove to Tesco - did my shopping there. I didn't have to wash the dirt of my food, I didn't have to clean my shopping bag, because they provided me with bags I could put my vegetables in and seperate them from other items in my bag.
Well done Asda - you've lost a customer with that moronic attempt to pretend that you care about the environment, where all you are trying to do is save a fraction of a penny and put a hidden tax in form of useless bags on your (now former) customers.”
“I bought 5 bath towels when you dry yourself coming out the bath and put them in the washing basket they have this awful smell thought it was something in my sons bedroom but no it’s coming from the towels.”
“Had on line delivery in April with £58 worth of goods not delivered. Original order delivered to wron address so no facility to apply for 4efund on line. After dozens of phone calls to customer service and promises of call back which never came, letters written to head office and no reply I had no option but to issue a claim in the County Court and pay a fee of £25. No defence entered by Asda so I obtained judgment against them. Still no payment so emailed Head Office to tell them. They then confirmed that they would refund the £58. I had to write again saying the still owed me court fee which they reluctantly agreed to pay sometime later. No apology and no explanation. An example of extremely bad customer service compared to Waitrose and Marks and Spencer. Its worth paying more (if in fact you do as the food from Asda is not always fresh), for the excellent service from them. I will never shop with Asda again.”
“Went in Asda, Hyde, Cheshire several days ago and you would know there was a Coronavirus scare still prevalent. Majority of the customers were wearing masks, but hardly any staff wore a mask, they did not social distance at all. The one way system as gone and they did not social distance at all, It was uncomfortable and frightening. I will not use Asda stores while there is a coronavirus scare. Please be aware if you do go in Asda.”
“Do not use Asda's online grocery delivery service.
My order to be delivered 27/7 between 7-9pm, failed to arrive, contacted Asda and a manager was to give me a call back 10-15mins ...week later still no call. With order supposedly cancelled 27/7, 4 days later 31/7 Asda took payment from my account. Contacted Asda again as this is theft, details of situation taken and told that nothing could be done as payments/refunds department closed and to call back 8am 1/8 and ask to be put directly through to the department. Called 1/8 at 8an asked to be put through, asked what it was regarding had to explain situation yet again. The lady I spoke to took details assured me it had been passed to management of the department and that I would be refunded within 24hours. This is now the 3/8 still no refund, no call back from management, no delivery, contacted Asda again today details of situation taken yet again. The lady I spoke to said she had spoken to the manager in refund department and due to high volumes they never got to me. This is unacceptable and obviously shows Asda is not living up to their promises. I have been told again today that a refund will be with me within 24hours and also told they always honour their promise......obviously I have no faith in their promise as they have not upheld any of the promises made. A week later due to Asda failings, taking no responsibility for their actions. I am still having to waste my time and money due to Asda's incompetence trying to get my money returned which Asda had no right taking in the first place.”
