The Insolvency Service (a government organisation) are investigating this company and its sister company Sellphone24 for alleged fraud. The more reports the better and they're quick to fill out. Everybody please fill out this form. Search in Google (Complain about a limited company) and it'll take you through an easy process to report the company. The registered companies' name is Makx Ltd. I was also ripped off when I sent my phone in, and after reading countless other reviews, I've decided to do something about it.

This business took my fully working phone in for recycle, it then quoted me a lot less due to damage. I requested the phone back and found that my phone had been damaged. This company do not take ownership or investigate the damage or the engineer, my thoughts its a shabby office somewhere. I highly recommend you DO NOT USE this service to recycle your device. They are rated high on sales but very low on buying and recycling. This business has a history of damage or offering you a lower value for your device. A simple search on the internet will show other customers who have been treated the same. Use at your our risk!

Originally offered £42 for handset reduced to £5 with some lame excuse that phone headset socket was water damaged. Device 16months old in perfect condition and never near water......steer well clear of Handtec.

Just re posting the review I left Handtec on TrustPilot, after Handtec reported it and called me to complain about it. Sent my 2016 iPhone 7 off for recycling after being offered £130 for it. Over a week later, and after prompting them, I received a reply saying their was a scratch on the screen (completely untrue) and that the battery life had lowered (it's a 4 year old phone). With that in mind they revised their offer from £130 to £15. All because of fictional scratch and their apparent expectation that a 4 year old phone still have 100% battery health. Not sure what about that review 'violated truspilots guidelines'. They have shown themselves to be an extremely unprofessional company.

Avoid selling your phone here. I've just received an email stating that due to the condition of my phone (that's been kept in a case since the moment of being unboxed) I will receive not the £250 quoted but a laughable £130. I have been recycling mobile phones for 10 years now and never had an issue due to the condition I keep my phones in. But I had heard of companies that try it on and offer a heavily reduced price once the phone is sent to them. Unfortunately I have been duped. I have taken photos of the phone before I sent it off, so I shall await to see what condition it is sent back to me in. Avoid these time wasters.

Sent away 2 year old iphone x in perfect condition and was quoted £320. Same as everyone else their engineer report said there was a crack on the back and the battery was in poor condition so they’d offer £200. absolutely ridiculous avoid at all costs

Do not use. A con. States best price but it's a joke. Quote went from £165 to £60. Phone was on perfect condition. Funniest thing was when I replied to say no and return phone I had an email within a few seconds stating they had 'spoken with an engineer ' and could now offer £70. This was literally about 3 seconds. Clearly an automatic message. Avoid

Same as everyone else really it seems common practice to say there are “faults” with device and then try to offer a much lower price. I sent a pretty much perfect iPhone 7 they offered around £100, when the “engineer report” came back it said it was covered in scratches and the battery was poor (this has been used for the past 3 years so wouldn’t be brand new condition on the battery) They offered me £65, I declined straight away and asked them to send it me back to be honest I was dreading having it back after finding the reviews on here and thinking what would of happened to it. In fairness I received it back in the same condition I sent it - I still could not see any so called scratches and got my partner to look at it too he said you could see minuscule marks in the light - In my opinion a very unfair way of judging a condition of a phone that would be used and hold it against you to try and rip you off- avoid this company don’t waste your time

Sent Samsung S9+ to them and they stated had screen burn and revised offer to £40. When I told them that I wasn't interested revised offer again to £50 emailed them to say I wasn't interested. No response for a few days and had to phone them up to get it returned. Still not returned almost a week later.

CAREFUL people. Companies like this scam people then close company, only to open under new name and start scamming all over again.

Do not send your phone to this company. Offered a good price for my IPhone 8 Plus but after 11 days I’m still waiting for my money! Trading Standards is my next email as this company are offering quick payments which is not happening. Dishonest behaviour. AVOID!!!

I was offered £155 guaranteed price for a Samsung Galaxy S10+ with a broken LCD.(sold as 'faulty') Once they reviewed the price they told me they could only pay £50 because the repairs cost too much@ and it was beyond repair.

9th or March my phone was sent to them, they claim it never arrived and I keep getting told them are going though Royal Mail for a claim. I keep chasing them and they keep saying it’s Royal Mail causing them delay. Best part of 4 months and I don’t have the money or the phone and I’m not holding out much hope now. Avoid company as all costs
