“WHAT A COMPLETE CON! I wanted to trail Now TV, so I paid for a ONE WEEK "Entertainment"only subscription. However, this INCUDED a free trail of "Cinema" and "Boost". I tried Now TV and was NOT IMPRESSED, so I did not renew, thinking that the ONE WEEK TRIAL would expire and that would be the end of it - BUT NO! I noticed payments taken out of my bank for the Cinema and Boost options, as well as future payments being lined up for the Enertainment option???????? So I cantacted Now TV and was informed that because I had NOT CANCELLED these services, they were automatically added UNTIL CANCELLED???? How does a one week trial become indefinite and how do FREE ONE WEEK TRIALS also become indefinite??
WHAT A COMPLETE AND UTTER CON! I was informed that the terms and conditions explained that if I did not cancel, I would pay for these 3 services UNTIL I DID CANCEL!! I had assumed that a ONE WEEK TRIAL was exactly that - a ONE WEEK ONLY TRIAL and that if I subsequently wanted to continue with Now TV, I would TELL THEM THAT!
To my mind, this is a con job by Now TV that numerous people must have been trapped in and it is not surprising really given that Now TV is owned by Sky TV who rip people off constantly!!
I told the employee that I was going to complain to OFCOM about this CON JOB and - suddenly - I got a refund for the Cinema and Boost and my membership cancelled!! Now TV KNOW they are being deceptive in what they are doing but they will keep doing it unless enough people complain to OFCOM, as I am doing, despite the refund.”
“This is a dreadful company. They have doubled the cost of my Broadband, no warning this was happening. I have phoned twice, but the people on the other end of the line do not speak english and do not understand me either. They say something like my agreement has coming to an end, so doubling my subscription and taking the free landline calls away too!! If you want to deal with a regulated company, then this does not appear to be one of them!!”
“3 weeks of not being able to login, call centre in India that does absolutely nothing, you can't ring them to complain, you can't cancel your payment if you can't login, it's like beating your head against a brick wall. I sincerely hope it goes out of business some time soon.”
“0 Stars. I have had Now Broadband for a 24 month contract. I was paying £23.50. When my contract was coming to an end this month they emailed saying what my options were. One was do nothing and no cost sgainst it but I assumed inflationary increase. Boy was I wrong. My DD went out yesterday and they had the cheek to double it without even notifying me! £46 for mediocre broadband connection.
I tried to log into my account but it kept showing an error- a logging in error on laptop and a sorry you can’t view or amend your package right now error on my mobile! Suspicious!
I complained and they admitted the email I received was ‘confusing’ and they have put measures in place to address the wording for future customers - lucky them! No reimbursement for me! I have cancelled and switched of course!
I had to buy two extenders for the house as their signal is poor so not value for money even at the £23.

“I have been with Now TV for 4 years. I loved the no contract approach and the value for money, but last month my bills went from £28.50 to £43.50. No emails, no letters absolutely no communication to advise of the change. i tried to contact them but their offices are in India, I was asked to confirm my full password over the phone and told that because my contract rolled out my bill was now £43.50 and that's that. How can my contract roll out when I don't have a contract? How can the price increase randomly?”

“The broadband has been getting increasingly bad over a period of about 6 months. The connection from the router is terrible giving me one bar just one room over from it. We've told them we're leaving due to being offered a better package at the same price we were paying from them from Virgin and the wifi has been terrible ever since. Can't wait for it to be transferred over on Friday. Shocking wifi”
“I'd give no stars if I could. I ordered this for my elderly mum using my contact details and my credit card. When they didn't deliver I found I couldn't cancel, they wanted my mum too. Utterly stupid and ridiculous. Virgin were amazing, really helpful and understanding. I'd steer well clear of Now TV”
“AVOID. Unethical practice. Signed up for a trial period to watch one film. 7 days later, (and due only to notifications from PayPal) it transpires I had somehow signed up for THREE services (Entertainment, Cinema & Boost (or categories to that effect).
The customer service phone lines do not accept calls regarding TV services (which in itself is a red flag) and trying to make any changes or complaints you are only directed to their ‘Community’. Where hopeless customers are left to try and guess the answer to each others queries.
Never have I had such an appalling, deceitful and unethical experience with a subscription service.
When I finally managed to get through to a real person via a chat function (by googling the situation), I was advised that I had been sent an email advising me on what I had signed up for and that I should have read that (On reading some other reviews it seems this is their practice to get customers auto signed up for additional services).
As I explained, if I think I have signed up to a subscription to watch a movie, why would I check an email to see if I had been signed up for additional services I didn’t want nor know about.
Thankfully I managed to get a refund on everything, this was the only thing I can in any way describe as ‘positive’ in my Interaction with this company.
Hopefully they won’t continue to take payment (as I have also read from other reviews) as I wish to take this complaint further and until it has been resolved they won’t cancel your account. Probably another way of scamming customers out of money.
My advice - Wait 3 months, whatever you want to watch now will be available elsewhere then. AVOID.”
