“They pre-take payment (stops you cancelling the order to buy elsewhere) then ring you constantly even if your abroad to try to tell you more stuff, you tell them to just send the item and they refuse and just keep ringing Then when you've had enough and send them an email to cancel the order they take the payment.. SCAMMERS IN ACTION ....AVOID”

“The goods arrived, a DSLR bundle. The battery charger was clearly not new but scratched and not with what I think would have been the original UK adapter. The box of the actual camera was clearly not new and pretty messy. Other items seem to be OK. I needed the item for a birthday and ordered while in port overseas. Then came the 'we've tried to call you' message asking me to call them. I was not willing to call them when I was in the middle of the atlantic so waited till I got home. Then tried to call the number a number of times and got no answer. The items STILL hadn't been dispatched! I wrote some stiffly worded emails about how, due to their ridiculous policy of needing to speak with everyone before dispatch, there was little chance of the goods arriving in time for the birthday. I tried to cancel but - guess what - had to phone that same number for the cancellation to be processed. Eventually they did dispatch the goods and, to be fair, they arrived from USA by fed-ex within a few days. I would not use them again. I hadn't realised that they were dispatching from USA.”

“I placed my order on the 18th June 2018 for a Canon lens which was around £20 cheaper than other websites. As there website says “there cover all import charges/taxes, it was worth waiting 6-10 days for delivery. On the 19th June I received an e-mail saying “ We tried calling you on the phone number you provided but were unable to reach you. To ensure your order ships in a timely manner please contact us”. After a few mins I eventually got transferred to a different dept and they checked my delivery address before trying to sell me filters for the lens I purchased. On the 28th June I e-mailed SLRHut as the tracking ref they give me still stated that my order was in the US. They replied the same day giving me a new tracking ref, and when I tried to locate my order it said it was at my local delivery depot, and is waiting on export/customs charges to be paid. At that time it didn’t say how much was to be paid so I e-mailed SLRHut back on the 29th June and they replied saying “I'm not sure why they are asking for taxes , must be a clerical error from my warehouse, we will investigate the issue to ensure that it doesn't happen again. In the meantime please pay whatever duties they ask for in order to receive your order. Please email us the receipt and we will refund you accordingly, as it is our policy to cover all customs and duties.” On the same day (29th) I received an invoice from Parcelforce for £22.20 for import/tax charges, and paid it straight away before e-mailing the invoice & proof of payment. SLRHut replied saying “Please allow 5-8 working days for the refund to process in the system”. I have sent several e-mails to SLRHut after the 5-8 working days, and to date (18th July 18) I’m still waiting for the refund of £22.20 to cover the import/tax charges which is the reason why I WOULD’NT recommend using this company ever again. I have since raised a dispute via Paypal who are investigating, as I have all the e-mails from SLRHut confirming that they will be refunding these charges.”

“Ordered Monday delivered Thursday morning from the USA awesome, saved £300 no vat or import taxes. Dont get that service or saving in the UK. All done through John the advisor and delivered through FedEx great team thanks...will be using again. N Ward”
