As a Seller – Item Lost, No Proof, No Compensation Selling on Vestiaire Collective has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with any platform. I shipped out an item following all the required steps. The buyer never received it — and I was later told the parcel was “returned to me.” But I never received anything. And despite asking multiple times, Vestiaire has provided zero proof of this so-called return: No recipient name No timestamp No delivery address No delivery confirmation or signature The tracking number they referenced shows no completed delivery, and doesn’t even recognize my postal code. Still, they closed the case, citing “company policy” — refusing to refund me or escalate the issue further. So now, the item is gone, the buyer didn’t get it, and I’ve lost the item and the money. Vestiaire’s position? Shrug and walk away. Their customer service has been evasive, unhelpful, and completely unwilling to provide accountability or transparency. Sellers carry all the risk, and Vestiaire offers no protection if something goes wrong. For a company that charges such high commissions, their level of support is disgraceful. I strongly discourage anyone from selling through this platform — if anything goes wrong, you’re on your own.

Extremely Disappointing and Inconsistent I’ve had a very frustrating experience with Vestiaire Collective. I listed an authentic Jacquemus bag (Ref. 57171748) with all the required details, only to have it rejected without a clear explanation. What’s worse is that this isn’t the first time—the exact same thing happened with a Jacquemus T-shirt (Ref. 54431278), which was initially refused, then later approved and sold after I re-uploaded it. It passed their so-called “verification” process without issue. Vestiaire claims items are verified after being sold and physically inspected. Yet they’re now making inconsistent calls based on photos alone, without giving sellers a chance to prove authenticity properly. This is unprofessional, arbitrary, and unacceptable. I’m extremely disappointed and feel disrespected as a trusted seller. If you value your time and credibility, think twice before listing with them. I will be sharing this experience on every platform I can.

Too good to be true. One item had a piece missing which wasn't mentioned in the description (an Otazu necklace). The Max Mara bag did have faults but it was sold with a status of 'good' and yet one of the bits of metal from the strap broke off mid walk. Turns out the bit of metal was rotten through. One item which was authenticatie by them, still seems good. Lesson: fraudsters will be fraudsters to make a quick buck. Vestiaire Collective does its best to help.

Ordered my first item with a welcome discount. It vanished. No delivery, no update—just magically returned to the seller. Vestiaire’s response? A shrug in email form. “No reshipment. Please relist.” Ah yes, the famous customer service strategy: do nothing and hope the problem goes away. Neither buyer nor seller did anything wrong, but both were tossed back to square one. Their system runs like a Kafka novel—confusing, circular, and designed to exhaust your will to shop. Trying to reuse the first-time coupon? Be ready to send screenshots, chase support agents like ghosts, and receive conflicting replies. Eventually, after enough pestering, they cave. But only because you’ve outlasted their indifference. Shopping here feels like doing unpaid work for a company that actively resents your presence. Use Vestiaire Collective if you enjoy solving mysteries, arguing with bots, and being treated like a glitch in their matrix.

I’ve been a responsible buyer and seller on this platform for over two years, with dozens of successful transactions. Unfortunately, despite my long-term use, every time I’ve encountered an issue, the customer support has been consistently inadequate. Expect to go through multiple chat conversations, with frequent changes in the support team member responding — each time having to start over and re-explain everything. There are no telephone numbers, no email contacts, and absolutely no way to escalate your case to a senior representative. The only option is an inefficient chat system. There have been several frustrating incidents: A brand-new Moncler ski jacket, bought directly from the official store and complete with tags, was rejected during authentication. I had to reach out to the retailer and request proof of purchase just to confirm its authenticity — they were baffled, and frankly amused, by the platform’s decision. A luxury Celine bag arrived crumpled in a box, folded without any filler or protective inserts. The warehouse packaging is shockingly unprofessional for high-end items. Most recently, I received a pair of poor-quality sunglasses. When I reached out to report the issue, the platform refused to contact the seller or offer any form of compensation. That was the final straw. Overall, the customer service is simply poor and not what you’d expect from a platform that handles high-value items. If you’re considering where to buy or sell, I strongly suggest exploring alternatives.

REALLY BAD service of authentification. I ordered a Dolce & Gabbana Dress which got authentified as ok (I paid for this service). It arrived in poor state with a non original zip. I tried to talk to them, they just refused my opinion and wouldnt refund me. They dont reply to my emails. BAD SERVICE-NO COMMUNICATION-NO RESOLUTION

Incredibly disappointing treatment of loyal customers. I have sold and bought on Vestiare for over 10 years but received a bag (pictures attached) described as very good condition which clearly doesn’t meet a single requirement for very good condition according to the company’s own guidelines. They are refusing to refund me and lying about how refunds work. I will be closing my account.

It is SO user unfriendly. I can’t change my password and lining up the information with what is actually on offer on the website does not work. I have twice had items refused sale for no clear reason. Both are genuine resale items. I have bought from them successfully twice, hence two stars and not one star. But I don’t understand the pricing. What does the figure in red represent? AND they insist you are Mrs which is not how most independent women style themselves. Maybe that’s a French thing…

I purchased two products from the Vestiare Colectiv website and was extremely disappointed. The items I received are cheap replicas, in very poor condition, with obvious stains and tears—issues that were not mentioned in the original description. This shows a complete lack of transparency. I tried to return the products, but was told that returns are no longer possible, and the customer service is unhelpful and uncooperative. I feel cheated and strongly advise everyone to be very careful before buying from this site, as you risk receiving counterfeit or severely damaged items with no option for return. I believe this site seriously damages consumer trust and harms the integrity of the brands it promotes.

Horrible! Do not use this site if you do not want to be left without things and without money. Very expensive and terrible service. I sold absolutely new and original Hermes sandals, parcel was delivered and left by the courier at the door and the courier took a photo and of course the parcel was stolen. Perhaps the buyer is lying saying that the parcel was stolen. But in the end they canceled the fact of delivery and refuse to pay me money. They say that they need to figure it out and it can take up to 30 days. Having no legal basis for not paying me money, because I fulfilled all the terms of the contract and the parcel was delivered. In the end, I have no money and no sandals. Disgusting! I will never use them again!

Appalling returns process. A Tissot watch was delayed and wouldn't arrive in time so I asked to cancel. This was not possible given they are private sellers - fair enough - but they offered to relist it for free instead which I agreed to. They then did not relist it and when I contacted them subsequently to check up on this they told me this was not possible as the time period had expired.

Misleading Discounts & Unfair Return Policy – Avoid! I had a very disappointing experience with Vestiaire Collective. They advertise discounts (e.g., 15% off) without clearly stating that there’s a cap (£40 max), which is extremely misleading. You only find out after going through the checkout process, wasting your time. Additionally, their return policy is unfair—they only allow returns for items bought from “professional sellers.” If you buy from an individual, you’re stuck with the item, even if it’s not as described. I received something that looked noticeably different from the listing, but because it wasn’t from a “professional seller,” I had no option to return it. Between their deceptive promotions and restrictive return policies, I would strongly advise against using Vestiaire Collective unless you’re willing to take the risk of being misled and stuck with an item that isn’t what you expected.

Absolutely ridiculous company! I sold a watch which was lost by their courier and I was never compensated. And now I have a bag that was returned by the buyer - even though it was in good condition and no faults at all - and 5 weeks later I have still not received the bag back! Dont deal with them - its an absolute nightmare!!

I bought a skirt that was listed by the seller as "Never Worn". Under Vestiaire Collective's description of Never Worn, the item is almos like new. When I received the skirt it was damaged, the fabric with white spots throughout, a tear on the inside waist seam, wrinkled and an absolute mess. VC sent me a label for return after posting the photos of it and they refused my Refund request, have not been forthcoming at all and flat out claim the seller's photos were compliant, refusing to admit that the Never Worn Condition was anything but compliant. Very disappointing experience, they cahrge a fortune for vetting the items and this is what you might get, someone in a bad mood deciding to refuse you a refund on an item that is not complying with their seller guidelines. Horrible. Beware. Never ever again buying from VC.

We brought 2 pairs of shoes. They both came perfectly packaged. Everything was simple and straightforward. I will definitely be ordering from there. The trick it to only buy new or new with tags. Love it so far!

If I could give them zero star, I would. I sold an authentic LV wallet and when it made it to their warehouse they rejected my item saying it didn’t meet to their standards for the engravings/metallic parts/fasteners and they couldn’t even be more specific about it! The best is yet to come, I had to pay $15 just to have them ship it back to me otherwise they would destroy the item if it wasn’t claimed within 6 months! After doing so, the item was authenticated through real authentication and I sent the info over to them and they still denied my claim. I was requesting my $15 back since I was at no fault and they couldn’t own up to their mistake.

Total joke, somebody bought an expensive item and the address looked totally wrong, seems to go to a Hotel in Poland, so I googled the address and the name of the hotel, it doesn't exist, contacted customer service, after letting me wait for ages they told me to send because if I cancel I get bad feedback and if it can't be delivered they have a department who deals with that. Well, the problem is that I am shipping from the UK, so I will have to pay customs and return postage for my own item. I did point out that the address does not exist, same answer "Send or cancel, if you cancel your account will be negatively impacted!"

They are never on time. If you want to buy present for somebody buy it one year before then maybe you will get your items on time! Now second time I buy at them and for zure the last time.

Customer service is terrible. They are not ready to help you, sending generic messages etc. They also provided wrong information about my sold item which lead me to sell it and then I earned less money then they informed me. After that, his colleague did nothing to help but only said “ I am sorry for my friend giving you false information “and that was it. So be careful cause if you will have an issue with anything nobody will help you. Don’t sell your items there, that can’t be trusted.
