“Delivery came on time and the chap backed into our drive and we offloaded the timber in good weather, into my garage. This was essential as I am sure it would have got wet over the next few weeks as it rained frequently. Whilst in the garage I was able to give all the timber 2 coats of preservative (awkward due to space issue but managed it). My cabin was 8ft x 14ft pent type and I used 25 litres of clear solvent based wood preservative (took an age to do it all). Unfortunately I hadn't decided upfront what sort of stain to use on the wood so there was a delay whilst I trialed a few different ones (not easy as most suppliers don't do sample pots). Eventually settled on a water based natural oak stain. The can recommended 3 coats of stain but I was also aware that there was some potential for swelling of the wood after soaking up of the stain and then the joints would not fit together during construction, I therefore decided to construct first and stain second even though I could not do 100% coverage after construction. This was a shame as I wanted to make a really good job of the staining/protection. Construction went well (3 days) and staining was much easier after construction (20 litres). I had quite a lot of wood left over after construction?? All materials were supplied including nails and screws and door fittings etc My advice to anyone planning to buy a cabin is, think about the preserving and staining upfront and also consider the time this takes, Ensure you can protect the wood from the elements until you are ready to build.and be aware of the extra costs of preserving and staining, then go for it. “The furniture is great, just a couple of niggles which is that one of the bars underneath was bent which meant we had to bash it straight or we couldn't put it together and the hooks that hold the two corners together are very difficult to attach. But its still a beautiful looking corner sofa and definitely worth what we paid.”

“So Far, So Good. Ordered a summerhouse on-line at Elbec Garden Buildings and specified a delivery date on their website, all good and easy. However, the reason for not giving 5 stars is because I then received an email from the maker of the summerhouse asking me to confirm my order AND specify a delivery date. When I tried to specify the same delivery date as I used for my order with Elbec, I received an error message that resulted in me having to phone the maker (Shire) and agree the same delivery date again by phone!! There needs to be some co-ordination here. Let's hope the building arrives on the due date. The paint I also ordered has already arrived!!. Many Thanks.”

“I’ve purchased garden products from Elbec many times and keep coming back as their products and delivery have always been first class. My last purchase was for a shed and gate which had to be delivered separately as the shed was delivered by the manufacturer. This seemed to cause a bit of confusion at their end and I had to chase the gate delivery. All was well in the end and I’m very happy with the items. Although there was a slight problem this time, Elbec have always resolved any issues and I have confidence in ordering from them as prices are competitive and delivery has always been good. I would have ranked 5 stars if not for the communication issues this time round.”

“A good shed. Two niggles - why do they persist with these silly window fittings, and, the roof could be a bit better supported. Apart from that I'm happy with it. Good price and delivery service too. Quite easy to assemble on my own but recommend two people for the roof.”
“I love our summer house. I chose to have house already painted and im so glad that u did, although i thought it would be a clear top cot, when it came it was bright ginger. I had no problems with delivery it was here within 5 days of ordering. When we saw it i nearly had heart failure, it came with about a hundred pieces .. i couldn't believe it and to be honest, i thought what have i done. But actually it wasnt that bad at all, it took 2 men a day and a half to put it together, the worse part was putting the window panes in and the frames , it took hours. So just be warned the windows you have to put in yourself. There was a couple of items missing, but after a phonecall it was sorted fast. Overall i am very happy with puchase and i would use the company again.”

“A great shed but why does they have to be a but on anything well I will tell you it came as told the driver was great and helpful loads of parts not a problem then take a look at the drawing not clever it was a good job there was two of us and one was a joiner my self a engineer it needs to be a simpler way to put it together but overall a great buy and a great shed and a very good company to deal with”
“Having moved from a very large rural garden with 3 Sheds and now have a tiny shared front garden and rear garden of 12 ' x 14. This shed is perfect and allows me somewhere to store garden tools etc. It fits neatly against the wall of the shared access accommodates all necessary tools, spare paint etc. it is also now a lovely Forget me not blue.”
