“We ordered a Hampton Corner Summerhouse back in the summer. We are delighted with the building, although the company sent to erect the building were slow in responding and once finally it was in place one of the panels dropped within 17 days of installation in August. It has taken copious calls to Shire, the installers, and emails to Elbec to finally sort the problem, which we have been told was a direct result of the initial bad installation made. I cannot fault Elbec, who have been quick to respond each time and have followed up my pleas by chasing Shire. I truly believe that without the persistence and tenacity of Shaun at Elbec we would still be waiting for a return visit. I was not even surprised when the date scheduled for the return visit went without Shire arriving, or ringing to say why they had not come. Shaun followed it up for me after checking to see if we were happy with the repair and finding it had not been done, and hey presto, Shire came out two days later! Thankyou Shaun!”

“Prompt delivery and notifications throughout. But fence panels weren't trimmed as neatly as could have been, some of the panels were a little uneven at the ends, so needed trimming prior to being dropped between the concrete posts.”

“The shed was exactly as ordered,everything there as stated. Before construction if you sort and label the items, assembly will be a doddle. As mentioned in previous reviews window fittings were slightly flimsy whilst the window is very sturdy. I am in it every day and very pleased.”

“Delivery came on time and the chap backed into our drive and we offloaded the timber in good weather, into my garage. This was essential as I am sure it would have got wet over the next few weeks as it rained frequently. Whilst in the garage I was able to give all the timber 2 coats of preservative (awkward due to space issue but managed it). My cabin was 8ft x 14ft pent type and I used 25 litres of clear solvent based wood preservative (took an age to do it all). Unfortunately I hadn't decided upfront what sort of stain to use on the wood so there was a delay whilst I trialed a few different ones (not easy as most suppliers don't do sample pots). Eventually settled on a water based natural oak stain. The can recommended 3 coats of stain but I was also aware that there was some potential for swelling of the wood after soaking up of the stain and then the joints would not fit together during construction, I therefore decided to construct first and stain second even though I could not do 100% coverage after construction. This was a shame as I wanted to make a really good job of the staining/protection. Construction went well (3 days) and staining was much easier after construction (20 litres). I had quite a lot of wood left over after construction?? All materials were supplied including nails and screws and door fittings etc My advice to anyone planning to buy a cabin is, think about the preserving and staining upfront and also consider the time this takes, Ensure you can protect the wood from the elements until you are ready to build.and be aware of the extra costs of preserving and staining, then go for it. Good Luck.”
