Not bad bought shire 8ft corner summerhouse.. Better then some smaller low eaves height and doorways so this was perfect.. Went together quite easy only thing I'm disappointed with is the hinge quality / door latch and roof felt ... Both poor quality.. Hinges to weak for doors.. Hang the doors perfect come back day later all dropped.. And door latch same again poor quality latch flopping all over place... Still I will buy upgrades for these in time... But roof felt is very thin maybe I should of got the upgrade at time of purchase but didn't want to spend over 700 quid... So good points and bad points 6.5/10

The wooden play house is good, in itself. One of the pieces didn't fit through the garage, but we could adapt and I took it over a neighbour's fence. There were no windows or extra window box with the play house. I called to point this out and was told that they should arrive in three to five days. It took a month. The window box was fine, but the windows were the wrong size. After another call, I was told to expect the correct ones in three to five days. Unlike the window frames in the play house, I was starting to glaze over. I chased up after five weeks to see where they were.It took another two weeks to get the windows. So the lower rating is for the back-up service. The quality of the play house is fine and reasonable value. I have had more reminders to fill out this review than I had contact about the windows that didn't arrive.

I found the quality to be poor, I had to place extra struts in the roof space and sides to give the shed some strength

Delivery was great , on time and driver was more than helpful. the quality of the wood used was some thing of a let down .why anyone would use wood with 2" knots in the window frame is beyond me .overall the shape and size was just fine for me but could not recommend this shed as the wood was of such poor quality

The product was described as "easy to assemble". I found that not to be the case. However, I got there in the end. The packaging was damaged on arrival, with some of the panels scratched. I would suggest better packaging because the delivery drivers seem to just throw the product around, hence the damaged packaging.

Loved the Wendy house the big disappointment was that there was a big gap around the door that would of let the rain in and damage the floor. I had to get a carpenter to add more wood to stop the rain getting in.

I bought a Mercia shiplap apex shed and the ordering process went smoothly. I am encouraged by the guarantee on the shed but not impressed by the quality of the timber and some of the wood is warped, although not too badly. My main complaint concerns the assembly instructions for the roof panels which could so easily be made foolproof but have resulted in my having to take them off and reposition them. The response from the "Customer Care" team was in effect that it was my fault as it was clear from the diagrams how they should be positioned. I would also add that the assembly instructions also recommend " that the building is sprayed with water during extended periods of warm sunshine and sheltered as much as possible during rain or snow". So it looks as if I will be spending most days in the future spraying water or holding a large umbrella over my shed to retain the guarantee!!

Bought this shed 5 x 7 (1.44m x 2.07m) Forest Overlap Pressure Treated Apex Shed which arrived yesterday, exactly at time stated, great service. Only issue is the cheap quality of build – I realise it wasn’t the most expensive shed to be bought, but still – there are standards. Whoever put the panels together should check whether the nails they use actually go through the wood, I had to fix several panels before I even attempted to put the shed together. Floor panels were lose from the joints and the roof wood panels were warped. There’s a piece of wood that attaches to the door which I have had to sand down to prevent splinters just from picking it up. Great design, but as I said quality and workmanship is rubbish. regards steve

Shed arrived on time, drivers not over keen to unload other than in the front garden.I started stacking shed sections in driveway then they followed with remainder. All went together ok apart when finishing roof section I found one facia panel missing phoned Elbec, Lady kindly offered to send replacement but as I told her I needed to get the roof secured that day she then offered to reimburse me the cost of the facia I had to buy locally as it was only £3.00 or so didn't bother ..so moral is check all parts before starting.

Delivered with not enough felt for the roof, only realising after driver had left. Had to use off cuts for the last row of felt. Both window fasteners broke after the first time I opened them, they won’t close as not lined up. The door wouldn’t close either. Had to be modified by a carpenter. Both side panels have such roughly sawn timber, that the splinters of wood look awful, yet cannot be sanded away as this is where the facia panel is. (which is pre attached) yet the edges of the back panels are fine, annoyingly as they won’t be seen. The facia panels supplied cover the front and sides, covering and holding down the felt that overhangs from the roof. There is NOT a facia to secure the felt at the rear, which can be seen and I believe will cause the felt to tear if the winds are strong. I will be buying new window and door fixings, and a facia panel for the rear. I actually haven’t got around to contacting elbec yet, but doubt that they will do anything. Once assembled and faulty windows and doors rectified and painted, I am very happy with the look of the summer house.

I bought a shed from Elbec Gardens which was delivered and provided by Shire Garden Buildings. They delivered a shed which had broken and missing items. I reported this straightaway and was told by Elbec that I could not get the missing/broken parts for another 7 days. It in fact took 10 days. After the wait they delivered wrong items. I sent several emails and wrote to Mr Smeeth CEO of Shire and received no response. I still do not have a complete shed. I am sure many have had good experiences but you only really know how good they are until an issue/problem needs to be resolved. Since posting my review I was contacted by Elbec who are in the process of resolving my issues so I have upgraded my rating to reflect that. I think much of the problem comes from Elbec sourcing the shed from varying companies and it is not made clear who the point of contact is if there is an issue as you receive emails from both companies. I ordered two sheds and this was the case in both instances. Also if parts are missing/broken then please be prepared to wait. Elbec have informed me that this is stated clearly on the website and in their terms and conditions.

I bought a 6' x 6' potting shed with double doors from Elbec and the delivery was exactly as arranged. The driver who arrived didn't speak a lot of English but pointed out a broken panel where he had over tightened the straps. I refused the delivery and it was redelivered a week later in perfect condition. When I put the shed together it was sturdy and easy to put together. I was disappointed that the hinges were corroded in the bag. Again I called them and replacements arrived 3 days later so good customer care. The slide bolts on the door that are provided are of the wrong type in that they are straight locks and should be cranked to allow the locking part to have a clear hole to engage in rather than being close to the edge. I decided to buy some new ones on eBay and all is well. Overall a good shed with a few niggles that could so easily be addressed.

The website is easy to navigate and generally quite clear. The photo-shopped images of each product on a generic garden background are a little off-putting and not entirely useful, but it's not a big deal. The shed I chose was a great price and arrived on the day it was supposed to with a helpful delivery driver. The shed itself is good quality even if the photocopied instructions which I received were a little mixed up and therefore hard to follow. Why wasn't there a proper instruction manual? My issue with the shed is that it's taking water up from the bottom, even though it's on a solid base, so several of the joints in the corners are constantly damp. The shed roof and windows are waterproof, so it's not really a big deal. The reason I am a bit annoyed is that I contacted Elbec directly twice via their website and once on the phone and every time they ignored me completely. No acknowledgement, no call back, no explanation. Maybe the shed is fine, who knows, but they don't get in touch so if I had a bigger issue I wouldn't expect any help from them. Therefore, I would think twice about ordering from them again.

Some of the shed pieces did not fit properly and so had to be handsawn. Also the instructions were diabolical. Explaining which way round doors should go would have been far more helpful. Pre-assembly instructions should have been labelled Step 1. Door lock was faulty

the 2 top triangles glass parts did not fit very well but otherwise ok and the delivery service was good but they could not help when I rang and told them of the tight fit of the 2 parts so I sorted out myself but had to leave a slight gap at the top of apex
