Purchased the avaris odyssey approx two months ago. I am 61 and reasonably healthy but have minor lung and leg/blood issues that have put me off cycling. I opted for the mountain bike version and have been delighted with it. This is my first purchase of an e bike and I am a casual rider. The gearing via thumb paddles is slick and easy. The digital readout is simple and clear. On straight roads I use no assistance. On inclines I only need level one or two if the legs are getting tired. Pulling away after a stop is great, the assistance quickly kicks in if you need a quick pull away due to traffic. On level five cycling is easy, thus I can travel distances far in excess of my normal without the worry of getting home. The battery has never dipped below 80 per cent so am very pleased with potential for next springs rides. Haven't used the bike for serious mountain biking as there aren't many hills in Essex. I had a little trouble locating the power assist buttons on first ride as I hadn't realised there were extra buttons outside the darker shaded ones. I had two dealings with the parent company and give them ten out of ten for response and speed of response. Cannot fault them. Great praise from someone who is sceptical of on line purchases.
