It was my dear old husband's 100th birthday. I made a cake, and I made the almond paste to wrap around it. I needed to decorate it and didn't trust myself with icing. I thought of the marzipan fruits my mother used to make but didn't trust myself to make these either in the time I had available. So, Google was asked for help and Friars marzipan fruits were there, just waiting for me to call. Wonderful. They arrived promptly in good order and were not only good to look at but VERY tasty... so much so that one or two didn't make it to the cake. It was November, approaching the 11th hour of the 11th day and many boyhood friends were lost in the war, so the poppies were added as an afterthought. It was a great success so, thank you Friars.
