Tritium tubes glow at the optimum level of illumination. Honestly, it is the best-overpriced watch I have ever purchased. The case is made out of a material called "carbonox" (black plastic). We'll see if the crown/glass can hold up to the abuse. If so, I will certainly consider another purchase but I'll wait for black Friday/cyber Monday to save the 30% which might lessen the pain of paying too much.
