Recently I had wondered if an old family photo that came into my possession could possibly be restored. There were nine of my ancestors, including a great-grandfather, dating back to around 1902. It was taken outdoors, at their old home. For several of the family members in the photo, these were the only pictures known of them. The picture had suffered the ravages of time, having spots all over the surface, faded, and yellowing. Figuring I had nothing to lose, but a modest investment, I decided to submit it to Memory Cherish, who had done other restorations for me that turned out very well. But THIS would be the "ultimate test". Working only with an e-mailed copy of the 8 x 10 portrait (as I didn't feel comfortable mailing such a unique photograph), they patiently worked with me, making restorations, little by little, without making the faces look "faked"--even with a few of the faces which showed very little detail! The end result, which I requested be done in sepia tone, turned out better than I had imagined! The Memory Cherish artist really was "up to the challenge" in restoring this precious family heirloom!
