Open studio is an immense jazz know how resource. The team had a passionate dedication to music, that reminds you how fortunate and magnificent it is to be a musician (In case you sometimes might forget).

Very good! I have a request: if possible, include the close caption in the videos. It helps those who have a rusted english (my case)

Open Studio has been an incredibly consistent and valuable resource for me. Even while I've been navigating homelessness, their piano lessons have been a constant. I'm especially grateful for the generous discount they offered, which has made continuing my studies possible. I highly recommend them for their high-quality instruction and genuine support.

I'm not a big jazz fan. I like the more accessible versions of jazz—coffee shop jazz, easy listening jazz. But I wanted to learn to improvise, and jazz is good for that. I did Pianote/Musora for a year (fancy!), and I bought the Piano4All courses (boring!). Open Studio is far and away the best choice. The teachers are kind and encouraging and very knowledgeable. The lessons are broken down into easy-ish sessions (you can always repeat a class, of course (which I do a lot)). And there's SO MUCH HERE! You could never run out of classes or courses or live Q&As or deep dives. Even though I'm a life-long musician, I'm learning a lot. Highly recommended.

I am incredibly impressed how the Open Studios instructors make everything so clear and accessible! I have learned more in a month of lessons than I have from all the books I've bought over the years. These lessons don't rely on hacks or learning random licks. Instead, they show the amazing vocabulary of jazz in easy-to-understand segments and the thinking behind what the musician is doing. For the first time, so much jazz piano has been demystified. Thanks, Open Studio!

I like the setup of each session with music sheets and also the keyboard of the instructor.

Great content I absolutely love it Piano is excellent but other instruments have a bit less content available, I am a pianist so this doesn’t affect me but that makes me less likely to recommend Openstudio to non pianists

In my opinion, for beginners and intermediate players, it is very good, but for someone like me, who doesn't really play at the complete beginner level, or intermediate level, its hard to find something that really interests me to learn. I fell in love with jazz because of Bill Evans, I'd like to maybe see more of his stuff for beginners or intermediate players, he's my only real inspiration besides Ahmad Jamal or Erroll Garner. In any case, I think there are some great courses, but I just would rather noodle and find my own way around the piano with my own ideas and previous knowledge, as I used to play advanced classical music.

Hello, I just started havent even finished the Week 1 for Jump start piano , But after revieing the Week 1 and Week 2 I have a very good feeling. I just wished to add that the Chromatic scale I didnot get in the download . Although the notes are one after another , I wish to use the right finger. Also for the first etude could the finger number be added. Thanks lot I wish to learn much )))

Thanks for the kind words, Vivek! Standard chromatic scale fingering is easily found with a quick Google Search. However, fingering for something like an Etude is something that we release in a limited scope as Peter and Adam feel strongly that there isn’t a “right” or “wrong” answer when it comes to fingering. You have to go with what feels right for your hands, fingers, movements etc. One resource we highly recommend for fingering guidance is the McFerren Scale and Arpeggio Manual. You can find it here: https://amzn.to/31XIjJ6 Feel free to reach out to our Member Support Team at support@openstudiojazz.com if you need anything else along the way! Happy practicing!
