Your rep in the Horsham office copied my home address incorrectly from my driving licence, and also failed to register that we have a second car. As a result, my car insurance documents were sent to the wrong address and had to be reissued with corrections. Your employees should be trained to check that they have recorded basic information correctly.

As your records will show we have both a motor , buildings and contents policies with you and as of yet fortunately had no need to call upon A-Plan for their assistance. After my sons insurance doubled for no reason Andrew from the Leamington Spa branch found a policy that was less. He acted swiftly and came back to me the same day. We as a household have other policies with A plan, and will continue to use provided they are competitive. Two things I would like to say is that A plan took payment for my sons policy from my credit card on the day I called rather than when the policy was due to start. Not too much of an issue. You offer vouchers to people who bring along a friend that takes out a policy with you. This apparently does not apply if it someone from the same family/house? As mentioned we have many policies and also other members of my family through my recommendation, so it would be nice if you were more flexible? My new car arrives middle to end of May and I have had a price from A plan, and the likelihood is I will get it. Neil Morris

I previously used A-Plan in St. Albans and have found that Horsham provide an equally good service. I am puzzled however that you only seem to refer to a limited number of Insurers when obtaining competitive quotes and that sometimes I might do better by trying the market myself. I would prefer not to have to do this but would like your comments.

Dear Mr Strong We are delighted that you have been pleased with the service you received from our St Albans and Horsham branches. We deal with a broad selection of insurers, which includes a number of the well-known names in the insurance market. Each time we provide a quotation (and at renewal for existing clients) we review our panel of insurers to ensure that the cover offered meets our client's requirements and, of course, provides overall value for money, especially when taking into account the vital elements of service and cover (very important when it comes to a claim). We do not deal with the 'direct insurers', as they will only deal directly with the public and do not offer their policies through brokers. This doesn't mean that we are unable compete on price of course. Our knowledge and the facilities we have with our panel insurers means that we are able to offer competitive rates, and our relationships with insurers also means we have ready access to decision makers on behalf of our clients if ever there is a need.
