Unfortunately, we are unable to pursue compensation as it does not apply to your case. According to EC 261/2004 Regulation, airlines are not obligated to provide compensation for disruptions that are beyond their control. In your specific case, ANA is a non-EU carrier, and flight NH70 was a domestic flight within Japan that was not taken. For reference, this flight operated as scheduled on February 23, 2026. As no confirmed ticket was issued for this flight, there is no basis for compensation. To further clarify, the reservation was initially placed on a waitlist through the ANA Mileage Club program. When seats became available on January 23, 2026, a notification was sent requesting confirmation of the reservation. This message clearly stated that the booking would be automatically cancelled if no action was taken before the deadline. The ticketing deadline is provided at the time of joining the waitlist, and it is the passenger’s responsibility to confirm within the given timeframe. According to the booking records, the deadline was set for 09 February at 2:30 AM (LAX time zone), in line with the airline’s policy that waitlists close 14 days prior to departure.
