“I really like Aldi, as the advertisement says, you can get healthy food cheap but some of the staff are just awful. One staff member who was filling shelves near me was really rude fast and almost aggressive while I was shopping and the till staff really rush you through the checkout it's like they're on speed even when it's not busy (unlike M&S who are always patient and pleasant).”
“SHOCKING SHOPPING EXPERIENCE, On the 1st feb 2018,
I called into Whitehaven Aldi for a few things, it came to £8.27, I handed over a £20 note, I know it was definitely a £20 because that's all that was in my pocket, got the change and receipt for a £10 so I said you have give me change and receipt for £10 but I give you £20. So he got the manager and closed the till, they went into the office to count the till to see if it was a tenner over, surprise surprise he came back (on his own, Manager no where to be seen) to say the till was right, I must have give him a £10 note. I know for a fact it was a £20 note because I only had a £20. They made me feel like I was telling lies, I left the shop £10 down through no fault of my own.
I got home and contacted customer services, Cutting along story short, they got back to me the next day, they supposedly contacted whitehaven Aldi and the tills were balanced, so nothing they can do, BUT I know I definitely give them £20 and got change for £10, I suggested to them to look at there cameras, if I had been a criminal and stolen something it would be on camera so why wouldn't me handing a £20 note over not be on camera, But they said nothing can done.
I will never set foot in there again.”
“I went to Aldi brownhills today 28th January 2018 and it’s so messy around the shop and the card machine need to hold the card when I put in the card pop out and the lady in the till is not very nice to talk to she told me but no guide me she’s not very good to the customer!!!!”
“I went into the Dover store today, seeing as how lots of people seem to, and was appalled at everything.Untidy layout of the store with rows of what seemed to be junk items for sale. You know, like cycling stuff, dodgy tools and bed linen. Bit like like their cheap low quality food items really. What got me was that at the checkout I watched as a man complained to the guy working on it about the speed he was going. The operator got quite annoyed about his moan. Really? What a darned cheek. I didn't buy anything as I am not that way inclined. The food is cheap but I would sooner pay more and get quality.”
“Before today I would have given Aldi a better review as really like the stores but after using the on line service which is a disgrace my opinion has changed I bought a loft ladder which almost two weeks later hasn't arrived I am furious as I have found out the company they use to delver is completely unreliable will never buy anything on line again with Aldi”
“Great store lots of variety , reasonable prices with lots of offers. Like shopping here as can get more for your money compares to other supermarkets, a big trolley full of shopping costs a lot less which is good.”
“GREAT SELECTION AND ALWAYS LOW PRICES. MEAT, FISH AND POULTRY OF VERY GOOD STANDARD. FRUIT AND VEG ALSO GOOD AND ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW AND DIFFERENT IN STORE”
“Nothing has changed at all. same dreadful checkouts (go your own pace) sell by dates etc on fresh produce in code you need to look up online to make sure you know what you are buying (write them down). Nasty little stores all round and terrible quality food products designed for those on low incomes. Nothing wrong with that for them but just thought I would mention it. Not all all elderly friendly checkouts. Go your own pace folks and not theirs.”
“In this era of austerity Its nice to be able to shop and feel you are getting produced and products at a fair price. The aldi stores are in convenient areas and the staff are so helpful. The speed at the checkout may not suit everyone but I find it the best checkout of all supekets.”
“My local store is in Bretton Peterborough. They are very aware of customers, quick to open tills when there are queues, always clean and tidy, rarely out of stock of regular items. Checkouts are fast and friendly. Great store, well done”
“In spite of all the bad reviews it seems people are oblivious to it all. Why? Who knows. I went into the Dover branch again the other day and nothing had changed at all. Still the dreadful checkouts, still the staff rushing goods over their scanners, still the frayed tempers because of it, but still they keep coming. It cannot be because of good quality because that is something it is not. My advice, after reading a recent tale of woe regarding checkout speed is this.... simply keep your speed down as you take your stuff off. Pack it where you are and not on the packing bar. If it keeps going onto the floor let it go there and ask to see the manager and complain. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing saying you must pack elsewhere, and even if there were so what. I am of the opinion that Aldi are doomed in the long run in Dover, losing out to the excellent new Lidl store down where B&Q was, if it has gone yet.”
“Store in Romiley is brilliant, love the quality of the produce at excellent prices. Recently tried their porcini mushroom and truffle pasta!! Delicious!!!”
