“30/04ordered a kettle and paid £3.95 for delivery 4/05. Item despatched 03/05. Never arrived contacted aldi Glasgow who apologised due to it problems and will have someone contact me. Still waiting first time I've used this and last time and would not recommend then to friends and family shame kettle was excellent.”
“I have been searching the internet regarding this company and it's atrocious checkout speeds. Instead of detailing my own horror stories I thought I would put a few here which I came across. Before I do I will say that I stopped going to aldi because of this and their attitude to older people and the less able. Here they are.....
There’s even an Aldi Checkout Challenge page where customers can share their stories about trying to slow down an over-enthusiastic till operator.
One joker suggested the supermarket should employ psychiatrists to support customers who “crumble at the pressure of packing” at the same rate as the cashier uses the scanner.
Another posted: “The fury on an Aldi cashier’s face when someone doesn’t pack fast enough.
“I worked there as a student, sacked due to slow scanning speeds.”
Others provided helpful tips on how to slow down the cashiers.
Or perhaps they get in the boss’s good books by getting through customers quickly.
Suggestions include staff incentives for being quick and some even suggest they are doing us a favour - with fast checkouts earning more points.
My main gripe with Aldi is the checkout process itself. They seem to have their people doing everything and only serving customers when enough of them turn up at the till, hence the 'queue shuffle' I suppose.
I guess the answer is to stop going there.”
“I bought an egg chair for my grandma ‘s birthday. Xdp damaged it . Aldi didn’t inform me until I emailed them and phoned them. Had been on hold for half an hour . Operator was kind of rude . Very disappointed with their service . I will never shop again at Aldi again . They don’t value Their customers at all”
“Aldi ARE expensive. Much more than the other chains. Why? Because the prices they charge for their inferior stock is way too much. In reality, comparing quality per item, all the others win hands down. Oh, but was that a staff review. Sorry.”
“Regarding the non arrival below. Aldi is indeed liable and NOT the courier company. No good trying to get them to admit this as they simply DO NOT understand the law regarding this point. Failing that they DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. Take it to your local trading standards right away. This company's record re customer liason is absolutely horrendous. They are arrogant and their call centre is sure to drive you to the point of insanity. Like their stores.”
“Your issue is indeed with Aldi for non delivery and NOT the courier company whatsoever. DO NOT let them get away with it. Aldi need to show they did in fact send the item or had the item collected from themselves by a courier. They keep records or should do. Why on earth do people still shop with this horrible company. Their staff turnover is very high. Go figure.”
“DO NOT order online from Aldi! They take your money straight away (literally within minutes of clicking "confirm order") and then you never receive what you've paid for! Getting your money back is impossible as they never answer your emails or phone calls to customer service, and they blame the delivery company. Although when researching who is liable in this situation, everywhere seems to tell me the contract of the delivery company is with Aldi, and not with the customer so no point complaining to them! Aldi sort out your customer service and online delivery services, you are severely damaging a reputation you've spent years trying to build to a fairly well respected level!”
“These idiots gave me a hernia with the way they run the place down at Aldi Warehouse Queenborough. They're very pushy, don't care about your health even when they say they do as it's just about hitting targets and telling you what you want to hear, and never paid me compensation money out. It was one of the worst decisions I've ever made joining these and after having to have months off after my hernia op it wouldn't of made me any better off financially (when they did pay me more than my previous company per month.) AVOID!!”
“Ordered box of wine online 3 May it’s now 12th and nothing. Received a email saying it was despatched, checked delivery tracking just now and they say waiting to receive the order. I can’t get through to customer services because the queue is a lifetime long not a good sign. Sent them an email see if I get anywhere with that. In future I will just go to a shop not worth the hassle and stress!!”
“Oh! A staff review again? Aldi helpful to the disabled they may be, but not to the elderly in general. Five stars for a vegetarian pie? What about all the other stock etc? How a company be reviewed on the strength of a pie I do not know.”
“Awful experience buying online from Aldi. They said my order was dispatched. I waited and kept checking the tracking which told me the courier hadn't received the order. Aldi lied and said the courier had it. After eventually getting through to customer services they admitted they had no idea where my order was. They tried to send me another one but I asked for a refund. Hopefully I will actually receive it.”
“ordered 2nd May, 9th May now & no delivery date - just a vague email, saying item dispatched. 30 mins customer services wait twice. Customer Services lady very polite & helpful. Courier or delivery service worst experience ever for awareness. 2 days of sitting at home waiting for non existent delivery.”
“Four stars? Because they changed a faulty item!! I should think they would too. It's their job to do so. Nothing special about it at all really. Pure cannabis smells!! That's a new one. Can I quote from another review? Hope the reviewer doesn't mind me doing so. It is what this company are all about and why they lose customers. I quote "Are they paid for each customer that passes through their till? Made me feel like I was part of a production line and not a customer" End of quote. This is the worse thing about them. No, they aren't paid to rush as many through as possible, but it is part of their remit to do so. It is rude, outrageous and totally thoughtless. Not only this but a serious problem for the less able among us. I do pop into aldi from time to time, not to buy but to see if they have changed their ways. They never have.”
“Cleaner at the Middleton branch smells of pure cannabis, not pleasant to have my children around. Won’t be coming back to the Middleton branch in a hurry.”
“Some check out staff are far too quick when scanning and taking payment, to the point of seeming rude. Yesterday, at Aldi in Coleshill, I used a basket and purchased only a few items. The assistant started scanning the next customers items before I had chance to pack mine away. This happens regularly. Are they paid for each customer that passes through their till? Made me feel like I was part of a production line and not a customer.”
“Once again massive queues and not enough staff on till. As usual the manager is wondering around avoiding eye contact with her unhappy customers. Happens all too often in here.”
“That seems very strange. Four stars for waiting a long time in queues. Never mind.
"German" supermarket chain aldi has stopped selling a baby changing bag after it was accused by BabaBing, a Keighley based child and baby products firm of copying it's own design. Hmm. Nothing really surprises me with aldi. They said they always listen to feedback. Really? Well why don't they listen to it on this site?”
