Wow is all I can say about this store on Union Street Plymouth.. thought I would try here for my roast bits instead of Lidl for a change. I Walked around the store and walked back out again. Never have I been so disgusted about a supermarket and embarrassed for the staff. They obviously don't give a s**t or are heavily understaffed. Food allover the floor even a bag of flour was open on the floor, shelves were pretty much empty, you could smell the mould that was on the fruit when you picked it up.. the whole store is dark and gloomy and looks like a jumble sale.. never going back again and I will be telling everyone about it too. No matter how cheap it is, it's not even worth the sickness bug and walked into Lidl and what a difference. Will be staying with Lidl from now. Thanks for the worst shopping experience I've ever had..

Four stars for plants? You were very fortunate as most of their stores sell dried out soil plants.

Hello, Just writing to you to give a feedback of the service we were given at Castle Hill Westfield store in NSW by an employee "Mumme". On 22nd July between 1.30 pm and 2:00 pm, we were at the payment counter to buy wine and other groceries. But she asked for Ids for my husband and me as we were together. My husband had the Id but my Id was in the car so I couldn't present it. But she refused to give us wine, but didn't explain why as she apparently couldn't explain, so then her colleague sitting at the back gave us the reason for that. It was weird and embarrassing as she was very rude and had sarcastic and was almost laughing or happy face when we were upset with refusal, as she knew there is nothing we can do according to the rules. We didn't understand why, as she had not reason to say no apart from not having the ID and then this rude behaviour was day spoiling for us (by the way I am almost 30 and not at all look less than 25 and we decent, if want you can check the surveillance camera recordings as well). But then we said at the counter that my husband will come again as a new shopper and I will stand outside, not knowing that once refused she will not let us buy again. But she again has that laughing face embarrassing us and not explain us that even if he comes again, she will not let us but the wine. She just let us go ahead, my husband again stood in the line and when he reached at the counter, she again refused him rudely. This was something we call misuse of the rights you are given. She was a RSA holder, if she refuses we cannot do anything and this was something she used, as she apparently was very confident that we cannot do anything. And to be honest, we could not think of any reason she would have done this, and sadly made us think that this act was of racist nature. But this not just about refusal, its also about rude and insulting attitude, bad communication skills and not wanting to help customers and explain anything they don’t know to avoid their inconvenience. This was the extreme level of insult and bad customer service as she was not ready to explain anything to us, she was just trying to make us do effort and then embarrass us, we couldn't understand why and will never do, because she could have explained us everything nicely at the very first time and made it easy for us, but she chose a really bad way. After that we asked us to talk to the manager, manager was very nice and apologetic to us. He explained us that if he was at the counter, he would have given us the drinks and as that lady has RSA and has refused us, he can't sell us now. So manager explained everything nicely and had good customer service, while Mumme gave a horrible experience at ALDI with her rude and insulting attitude, bad communication skills and not wanting to help customer and explain anything. We are regular customer of ALDI but after this incident we will always keep ourselves away from ALDI as it is hard to forget that insult to a decent customer without any reason. Kind Regards Neha

I agree with that big time. Aldi should be ashamed. What homosexuals and lesbians etc do is up to them, but I object to having it placed in front of me in this way. Will Aldi now do the same showing a normal couple, married, and making it clear they are? Don't hold your breath waiting. Yes, a step too far indeed and to be hoped this company pay for their folly.

Im sorry but ive just switched my tv on. Your advertising campaigne is a bridge too far for me and i have no doubt for thousands of others. Esp families. I spend at least £200 per month in your store. As of now im done. Wont be back. I have no issues with gay couples. But i do object to having dinner with my family and having this pushed down our throats. 😡

The large rectangle wooden garden table £49.99 seemed like a bargain until 2 weeks after purchase I notice the wood lif lifting and cracking, only gave 2 stars instead of 1 as the customer service guy on phone was great and had no problems with refund in store in short Great customer service --- very poor quality table.

Four stars because you had good "banter" with staff? What about their products? Five for the manager getting you something not on the shelves? Are you kidding? He was simply doing what his staff had not already done. I would like to quote what Linda said earlier...."In retrospect, you don't even get what you paid for".

Don't understand where all these good reviews of Aldis come from. I bought a piece of 28 day matured topside beef for our Sunday dinner. Turned out it was several odd bits of fat and gristle all held together in a string bag. Disgusting. In the end, I guess you do get what you pay for....that's our Sunday dinner ruined. In retrospect, you don't even get what you paid for..

Getting sick of finding out that the expected white cheddar cheese I have bought turns out to be, and on more than one occasion I might add, not cheddar cheese at all. My best guess is that it is in fact Dutch Yongen cheese which stinks, isn't a hard cheddar, and "should" be cheaper. Once or twice I have been satisfied and enjoyed a white, hard, often crumbly, excellent genuine cheddar but it's becoming a joke now. ALDI? nah, I'm done with their shenanigans. Back to Tesco for me for the product consistency.

Horrendous customer service. Log burner did not arrive. Asked Aldi to chase on the Friday. Put money back on card less than 24hrs later. Not much chasing there Aldi said gone missing. Wanted product not money back. Yodel sent email out for deliver then sent product back to Aldi. Aldi store good not online service. Very disappointed customer. Reluctant to use service again.

I have been searching the internet regarding this company and it's atrocious checkout speeds. Instead of detailing my own horror stories I thought I would put a few here which I came across. Before I do I will say that I stopped going to aldi because of this and their attitude to older people and the less able. Here they are..... There’s even an Aldi Checkout Challenge page where customers can share their stories about trying to slow down an over-enthusiastic till operator. One joker suggested the supermarket should employ psychiatrists to support customers who “crumble at the pressure of packing” at the same rate as the cashier uses the scanner. Another posted: “The fury on an Aldi cashier’s face when someone doesn’t pack fast enough. “I worked there as a student, sacked due to slow scanning speeds.” Others provided helpful tips on how to slow down the cashiers. Or perhaps they get in the boss’s good books by getting through customers quickly. Suggestions include staff incentives for being quick and some even suggest they are doing us a favour - with fast checkouts earning more points. My main gripe with Aldi is the checkout process itself. They seem to have their people doing everything and only serving customers when enough of them turn up at the till, hence the 'queue shuffle' I suppose. I guess the answer is to stop going there.

Aldi ARE expensive. Much more than the other chains. Why? Because the prices they charge for their inferior stock is way too much. In reality, comparing quality per item, all the others win hands down. Oh, but was that a staff review. Sorry.

Horrendous online service. Looking at other reviews nothing seems to get done to sort it.

Regarding the non arrival below. Aldi is indeed liable and NOT the courier company. No good trying to get them to admit this as they simply DO NOT understand the law regarding this point. Failing that they DO NOT WANT TO KNOW. Take it to your local trading standards right away. This company's record re customer liason is absolutely horrendous. They are arrogant and their call centre is sure to drive you to the point of insanity. Like their stores.

Your issue is indeed with Aldi for non delivery and NOT the courier company whatsoever. DO NOT let them get away with it. Aldi need to show they did in fact send the item or had the item collected from themselves by a courier. They keep records or should do. Why on earth do people still shop with this horrible company. Their staff turnover is very high. Go figure.
