Shocking company in every single way. Nasty quality items, from cheap things like household items to all their food. Oh, and let's not forget the horrid checkouts. Like another reviewer said, Aldi are for low income households, and it is silly to say otherwise. It is the same in their German and Netherlands stores. Nothing different there at all. Why is it that people are saying on here the complete opposite. Is it a wind up or are they serious? I honestly know only one person who believes that their products are fine, and I know a lot who have tried them. The biggest gripe of all from the older people is the terrible checkouts. Are they all wrong? Of course, as another reviewer has stated, many of the feedbacks on here are so obviously written by Aldi staff. Why do they do that when it is so easy to pick them out, mostly after a negative review.

We have to travel a few miles to get to our nearest Aldi but it is always worth it, there are several things we really like form this store. We love the Greek yogurts, the Stock cubes, good value vegetables and also meat. In fact there is nothing to dislike apart from there is always a packed car park they never seem to be big enough, but love the store thank you

Although the product range isn't vast Aldi offers a good basic range and always holds some nice surprises with regard to new foods i haven't tried before.

Bad quality, bad in store experience, second rate goods, especially the food items, and absolutely bad checkouts. Stay away.

I shop at Aldi weekly and buy the majority of my shopping for the whole week. I do have to shop elsewhere for some things as the range of goods is a bit limited. However the value of the Aldi shop is well worth my weekly shop. The Aldi staff are always happy and helpful.

If I could I would have awarded them zero stars. Why? Aldi puzzles me really. What is it. It seems to be trying to be a supermarket chain but in reality seems to be a company containing all the bad points of other chains in one group. I try to be fair, so went back for more, and was not surprised with what I found. From time to time Aldi do have one or two non food bargains, you know, like tools and so on. Okay, so I bought a pack of their frozen haddock in batter. Goodness me. The batter was absolutely vile, so threw that and eat most of what seemed to be haddock. With food items it simply is not possible to get quality at low prices, it really isn't. So how come they do get fair ratings now and again? People get it wrong actually. Simple, isn't it. They confuse cheap prices with quality, and rate the company on that rather than on what they should do, quality. I do not wish to be offensive, but Aldi are a company for those unfortunate enough to be on low incomes. It is how they prosper. They do not do so on quality items as they do not stock any. Oh, but I digress. Then I bought a pack of individually frozen veg in four bags within one large bag. Dear me. Again the quality was dreadful and could not eat all of the one pack I did in microwave. I firmly believe that Aldi's good fortunes will be on a downward slope in the not too distant future. If only, like some other reviewers have stated, they would do away with their super unfriendly checkouts and stop harassing customers, including the elderly, things could improve. After all, the checkout experience is one we all remember on the way home. This experience will dictate if we return or not. Will I return? Only to check the non food items like socks etc. All non food items, such as bleach and so on, are also bad quality. Use more so not cheaper is it.

Last week I bought my usual groceries. I bought grapes, two different melons, raspberries and strawberries, plus veg. The only fruit I was able to eat was the honeydew melon. The rest had all gone off within two days of buying it even though the use by dates were for three days after I had thrown them away

Ok. So what's up then. Well I'll tell you. Firstly, it is blatantly obvious that someone, possibly more, from within Aldi, are putting reviews on here themselves. This is done after any negative review. Never mind. At least we can see through it. Let's get on then. I agree with some previous reviews about their shocking checkout system, their BB dates, their bad quality food items and some checkout staff rudeness and false smiles. It seems that most of them work there because it is a job. They pay more but believe me it is a bad company to work for. (Inside info). I also agree about shopping at Waitrose. Their food may very well be a bit more expensive but at least one gets quality. Aldi's plants in the summer? Does anyone actually water them? Asda do the same. At least Morrisons water their plants. They may not do much else but they do that okay. Look folks....cheap food really cannot be good quality. It makes sense really doesn't it. I stay well away from Aldi mostly and only go there for one non food specific item about once every two months.

Just started going to Aldi this past mouth at Rustington, normally shop at Waitrose in Worthing, even those I have to drive a few mile its worth the effort, the quality of the produce & value is great & the staff are exceptional, I normally hate food shopping & now it's a joy. Thank you
