I bought a cooker for my brother as he is autistic and special needs. I arranged delivery and collection of the old cooker. I also arrange 5years insurance. The following day my brother was contacted and ask if he wanted to take out a better insurance . It was a scam and they somehow got the purchase information. Try to contact appliance Direct and it's a premium phone number that cost a fortune. Had to contact the my brother banks and cancel his debit card . Purchase details not secure.....

After giving a good review and later finding out the item was faulty I am very disappointed with the customer service I received to have the item changed. All I got was a string of emails and WhatsApp asking for the same pictures over and over. After a good few days and putting my foot down I was finally given a return label to post the item back for a refund/exchange. Its been 8 days since I posted it back to Appliance Direct and no one is getting back to me to tell me if they have received it or if my exchange is in the way. Word of advice, when invited to give a review use the item then wait a good few months. Not a happy customer

Very poor service, delivered 5 minutes early, when I complained, the company said it wouldn't handle it.

AD gave the wrong number to DPD for delivery notifications. I paid extra for next day delivery, 4 days later and the item is still at DPD delivery centre despite promises of delivery Saturday which after waiting all day said sorry it will now be Sunday. Another day off work taken to wait all day Sunday, DPD App said delivery between 2:45 and 3:45 by 5pm it said running late, 12 noon on Monday it says it’s back at DPD depot and no delivery attempted so far. Again says out for delivery today so a 4th day off work waiting. Not good.

Delivery person threw my De Humidifier 12L over my 6ft high garden wall onto a wet path, I'm speechless and not happy, will not use this company again, very, very bad delivery service.

Do not touch this company! I have been battling with this company since August 2022 and their faulty goods, awful customer service and general attitude absolutely stink. They do not care how they treat you. I have been told "we don't have to offer you any compensation" when I was lucky enough to get £10 for my troubles. The delivery date you choose is never honoured. The helpline is charged at 13p per minute. The respond to emails eventually. Their case managers are rude. Don't do it... go somewhere else. Even if they are cheaper, you will pay in time and costs trying to sort out their mistakes.

Absolutely terrible experience. Ordered 2 man delivery, Oven arrived but driver refused to carry up the stairs as he was alone, so even though i suffer with a bad back i had to help him as i have children and no oven in the winter is difficult. They also refused to take the old oven which we paid extra for. Again due to them sending a single man, i had to wait another 3 days before they picked it up. Bearing in mind i live in a small 2 bedroom flat. The oven was tatty, pieces of metal hanging off the inside and screws not tightened up, then it broke on the 2nd day of use, contacted Appliance Direct who said they wouldn't do anything until I had personally contacted Hisense directly to raise an issue and get an uplift number. The phone number that appliance direct gave me was wrong. So i had to source this myself. Uplift number supplied and replacement arrived within 3 days, which i was happy with. When the replacement arrived, which was visually damaged all over, paint chipped off, dents and the main oven door doesn't close as the hinges don't line up. They are now telling me that i have to wait 4 days for the replacement to be collected and only once it is collected will the refund process start which takes upto another 5 working days. Absolutely disgusting. They wouldnt do anything to try and help the situation. I have 2 young children, how do they expect me to provide hot meals, so far i've spent a fortune on takeaways. This is still ongoing and into the 3rd week without an oven. Looking at the standard of the products, it's either Hisense or Appliance direct that are supplying 2nd's or the units are stored in bad conditions. AVOID at all costs.

We carefully picked appliances that were in stock on the website, immediately after paying the delivery date changed to 6 weeks later we were the given 2 other slightly earlier dates and nothing arrived. Then the day before the original quoted date I called again and was told the delivery was definitely happening. At 9pm I got a email saying it was delayed. After being passed from department to department was told what was out of stock We chose alternatives and did get the delivery the following day. Why it took so much effort and why they didn’t give that information originally was beyond belief. Don’t buy online call them.

Re: Hotpoint 60cm Double Oven, Electric Cooker (Item Code HDM67V9CMW). Bought this Cooker on 3rd August 2022. This Cooker came with the venting system on the top back which is on show, however, on the website Appliance Direct and Hotpoint failed to inform their customers that the vent on the left side operates the grill and the vent on the right side operates the oven. What they failed to inform the customer is that when cooking any food products in the oven, these vents draw out the oils and the steam from the food causing staining on the vents on the top back of the cooker where they are visible. Hotpoint informed me they could be wiped off, however, unless you use an abrasive, you are unable to remove them. Anything that is abrasive would scratch the enamel, therefore, allowing steam to enter into the enamel and cause rusting. Appliance Direct informed me that because this problem does not come under the warranty, there is nothing they can do. I now have a 2-month-old cooker which has staining, which is visible and will only get worse. I would also like to say that I would never buy another Hotpoint product or use Appliance Direct in the future. Hotpoint has taken no responsibility for this design fault and Appliance Direct have taken no responsibility to inform customers either of this design fault before buying. Think very carefully about buying this product - you have been duly warned.

I ordered a kitchen sink on 1st Oct and expected to be delivered within days stated on the purchase website. I was checking the delivery date daily to make sure I can get it before 6th Oct. On 6th Oct, I surprised found my delivery date has been moved to 10th Oct. I was really panic as I can't afford for this delay. The plumber and carpenter both need the item as part of the joined work at other side of the London. No one will be at the delivery address to accept the item. I rang your sales helpline, the person answered my call is on the other side of the world and told me is nothing he can do. I was very upset and asked him to take an action to arrange it to be delivered to the address next day as being promised on your website. Eventually, he managed moving the delivery date on 5th Oct. Be honest, I lost all my confident to order the goods from your website after this experience. I hope you will fix your system error as soon as possible to avoid losing more customers like me.

Appliances Direct doesn't even deserve one star, and quite frankly, I don't believe that many of the reviews on this site are genuine. Original built in microwave was faulty, began smoking the first time I ever used the grill. Appliances Direct didn't install it, or disconnect or remove my previous microwave, but I shouldn't have to pay these costs twice to have a working appliance. Replacement was agreed, with free installation and delivery, and free disconnection and removal of the faulty appliance. Delivery and installation should have taken place on 2nd Sept. Within minutes (yes, really!) of this phone conversation, Appliances Direct emailed me to say that the microwave was out of stock. (That's the second time this summer that has happened - the first time was about a washing machine, supplied by Appliances Direct .) I spoke to someone on the phone at Appliances Direct, who said that the nearest equivalent was more expensive, and that they would give me credit up to a certain amount towards the replacement microwave. That meant that there was no further cost to me. That ought to have been ok. The trouble is, that since then Appliances Direct has kept changing the delivery dates; allocating delivery dates without asking me if I am available; despatching the microwave for delivery on the wrong date (when I am unavailable); arranging for delivery without installation of the new appliance, or disconnection and removal of the faulty one; arranging for collection, not delivery, of a parcel. I have made many long phone calls to Appliances Direct. I still do not have my microwave; meanwhile Appliances Direct still has my money. In the last three days alone they have told me that the microwave is out of stock (having been out for delivery last Friday when I was unavailable); that my return was being processed (I have returned nothing to Appliances Direct); that a parcel would be collected today (not delivered); that the microwave is out for delivery; that delivery cannot take place; and that it is now scheduled for a date next week when I am unavailable (without consulting me about which date is possible). How can an appliance be simultaneously out of stock, its return be being processed, and out for delivery, all at the same time? I want a refund for the cost of the original microwave; installation; disconnection of the faulty microwave; removal and recycling of the faulty microwave; the cost of the phone calls; the increased cost of cooking in an oven and on a gas hob; and compensation for the stress and aggravation. I am incurring a lot of increased costs over this matter. If Appliances Direct does not make this matter right I will report them to Trading Standards.
