Very confused at times. And so many of my friends said the same thing. When you have to do a course over it would be nice to know what ones were wrong or right. When you rewrite it really screws things up. Yes i passed. So that is what i think.

Very informative, HOWEVER, there were a number of questions that were not covered in the tutorials and the test appeared to have an emphasis on general knowledge ?

Upside was, by the time the final exam came I was definitely ready to take it. Downside was, it took a lot longer than it needed to. Making you wait before you could go to the next page was frustrating.

Glad to have my license, and the boat smart training is good to have. One complaint though, going through the units, the time limit on many pages is way too long. I understand that it's made for the lowest common denominator of people, but some pages take 10 seconds to read, but have a countdown of a minute. It took me 6 hours+ to take the course, had the default read times been shorter, it would have taken half the time I'm sure. Thanks

The course is way to long but it was still ok. I would shorten the course up.

Good news!!! had to do it, passed no problem, learned a bit on international waterways. Good knowledge for beginners, The Bad !! 7hrs in front of a computer, only learned new stuff on 2 chapters, It would be nice if there was a advanced class for the experienced boater

The audio narration and video animation helped in the learning of modules. There are questions in the module quiz that were applicable on the next module.

I found the course extremely aggregating!!! The time of each computer screen was aweful. Having to wait so long as I'm a fast reader. I really was ticked with how long it took. Over 5 hours long with exam. Why couldn't I have the Option to challenge the exam????

BOATsmart! Was great. It was very convenient being able to stay at home and write my boating exam. The only problem I have with the system was, I think module two should be broken up into smaller sections.

Hi: My thought is that there should be two levels. One for inland lakes and rivers and the second for Great Lakes and/or attributaries to the ocean or large systems eg St. Lawrence River / Rideau Canal. The process is far too long and serious consideration is given to quit it. Levels or categories of licencing may be a better approach. Also I purchased a prepayment card to save $10.00 and could not use it when I got thur to get started. Thank You . Walter Stack

Good material and well explained. If you are really interested in being better, you would ask how you can improve!

Not quite happy...I find the forced wait during the lessons frustrating. This attempt to control the user doesn't work. Once I have read the section, it is up to me to pass the quiz and final test. Also, the incorrect answers should be shown at the end of the quiz. If I got something wrong, don't you think you should tell me what it is so I can learn? That's the point of the course, after all.

Exam is not a learning experience. As a teacher, experience has proven that you need to know what question you got wrong to learn the right answer so that you can become knowledgeable. To keep redoing modules from the beginning and not know what to improve is not very productive. I have completed this with 8 grandchildren and one is still working on getting licence and I do not find your system a good educational tool. I will be calling in to discuss further.

BOATsmart did a very thorough job of explaining every aspect of boating, safety, requirements and laws that are associated with it. I definitely gained a great amount of knowledge form the course. However, I think that a 5 hour course is too long for something that is this simple. Though, I do understand that BOATsmart was trying to cover every bit of information regarding recreational boating.

I think having persons taking a test to become boat smart is awesome but I think there should be levels of tests and certificates similar to our levels of standards for vehicle licensing.

We appreciated the 10 question quizzes to prepare us for the exam. We were disappointed that many of the definitions were inconsistent from the lesson to the quizzes.
