“On Friday 21st April 2023, I collected my new hearing aids from the Farnborough, Hampshire branch. Of the many years that I have been wearing hearing aids, the
Audiologist in this Branch is very professional. He is very informative, he makes sure that the aids are programmed correctly. I hope he continues to stay in this branch,”
“It is a disgrace for a company like boots in Caterham!! Since had the hearing aid from there, it never right! Spent about £2000.- yet it is appalling! Returned to shop numerous times to get it fixed and they blamed you instead! They like to see the back of you asap and told you to drop the hearing aid in the evening and they will adjust for you the next day so that you need not to go in but heard nothing for 2 days now! Rang at 4pm and was told she has gone home!!?? “We will leave a note for her so that she could call you In morning”! This is someone from Optician department! Come on Boots, you could do better than this!! Could you not understand how frustrated for the old people who rely on your hearing aids day in day out? This is a lot of money for something that doesn’t fit for purpose most of the time! Please please get in touch! I now could not even able to talk to you on phone because my hearing aids is with you! I have left you my son’s phone please get in touch with him! Your earliest attention to this matter will be highly appreciated-”
“THE worst ever ‘care’ I have ever been subjected to. £3000 on state of the art hearing aids that are not fit for purpose. Not 6months old yet and have bygone to be exchanged for a new set again. Save your money, and run away from Boots. They don’t even respond to complaint emails. Into the 3rd week now and still no hearings aids or contact from them.”
“Ihave a boots hearing aid which I got from castlemal Norwich I am due for a check up traveled 15 miles it had been cancelled said they sent a letter which I haven’t received this had happened twice All together I think it had been cancelled about 4to5 times. Some one else was complaining they had been treated the same When I spoke to them I just don’t this is good enough”
“I completed my purchase of hearing aids today. Cross fingers but I found the service excellent. The audiologist was thoughtful, effective and a Lyn empathetic communicator .
I did find other reviews off putting and was therefore very happy with the service that Aliya provided.”
“Cancelled appointments X 3 for my husband on the day of the appointment. Customer service terrible. This is the second pair of £3,000 + hearing aids he has purchased . Agree wholeheartedly with the other reviewers.”
“Beyond dreadful. Avoid
Beyond dreadful. £££’s spent on state of the art hearing aids. Numerous visits for adjustments and 3 times for repair within 6 months and barely a year old. Customer care non existent, 4 calls to them over 11 days, apologies each time and assurances from them to no avail. Avoid at all costs.”
“Would give nil if it would let me. Was told I had ear wax. (Just had it done by nhs) so why? Lost one aid that had no problems with. Wanted replacement. I was told it was no longer sold. ??
Persuaded to try rechargeable. Found them poor and inconvenient. Tested again each time I visited as the sounds were poor. My old one still sounded ok. Also nhs ones sound fine without having tested for years. Old one works with compiler I bought new dont. Replacements cheaper than original.
Wont give me money back or replace battery aids. Tried to return them but they wont take them nor replace them.🥺”
“Having spent almost £2000 for my husbands hearing aids and had the original pair replaced completely, we find the ourselves yet again with one of them in for repair. We have had one or the other in several times for repair. My husband has Parkinson’s related dementia and hearing is a crucial part of the brain understanding the world around him. I was told before Christmas that it was better to wait till new year as Christmas and postal strikes would mean that the time without it would be extended. I find the service and the constant changing of staff at the local branch extremely dissatisfactory. Also the ability to deal with someone with my husbands condition leaves a lot to be desired. More training is in order I think. I would never recommend purchase of Boots hearing aids to anyone sadly..........”
“Hearing aid went in for repair beginning of November 22, after numerous telephone calls to customer services it has still not been returned 2 months later! A different excuse every time to the point I will never use them again.
Over the past 4 years , having paid in excess of 2K for these invisible hearing aids they have been in for repair at least 7 times!”
“I lost my hearing aid that fell out of my ear and which wasn’t fitted properly, the aftercare I received was disgusting and heartless, I was having a bad panic attack caused by me worrying how on earth I was going to pay for the replacement , there was not compassion and boots just didn’t care about my mental health
Maria Snow”
“If I could give minus points on here I would. Boots hearing care have given the worse service I have ever come across. My mother's £3000 hearing aids have hardly worked since she bought them. Do not expect a decent level of care as they repeatedly leave their customers without hearing aids while they send them off to be checked. No replies to emails or phone calls.”
“After arranging an offered hearing test by Boots & attending our appointment it was a waste of our time.
The audiologist said I had ear wax!
I have no signs of ear wax at all.
My husband also attended his appointment & was told he also could not have his ear test as he had ear wax, strangely we were both told in our right ear!!!
Waste of our time by Boots.”
“Total amateur
service indicated one aid needed repair
Did not send off for two weeks due to incompetent staff!!! In shop
Requested another service as 1st was very poor
They arranged in wrong branch
They do not know what they are doing”
“Boots hearing service has normally been good. However recently very poor. I received a letter saying they'd tried contacting before. No they haven't. Anyway the letter was from the support office saying my FREE annual hearing review was overdue. It stated it would take 60mins. I tried ringing them 3/4 times the I got was 12th in queue, so I went online but had forgotten my password (if I ever had one). I got to stage where reset password and they would emails but the email never arrived. I tried 3 times. In desperation I thought I'd ring the local Bpool store where I usually attend. I explained I'd received a renewal notice for Free Review. The lady was very helpful and arranged an appointment next few days. In the meantime an email came to reschedule the appointment for a letter time. I attended and the chap said the audiologist had slipped out and so he would take care of me. He started fiddling with the hearing domes while asking what's the problem I said nothing I've received this letter. He read the letter and said he can't do the annual review!!! He arranged another appointment. I went to that appointment and the audiologist asked what can I do for you. By this time I was getting frustrated and told her about the Annual Review letter she just replied "let me speak" in a raised tone. I said read the letter then you'll know to which she said I dont do Admin or payments. I said is the wrong then - she wouldn't even look at it. Then to my astonishment said she'd call security. At which I just got up and left. I can assure you no rudeness, swearing or raise voices were used on my part. So that's my experience”
“Persuaded to buy chargeable aid. After losing an old one that worked well. Dont like the new ones and said so all along. Every appointment had to go through hearing test instead of sorting out new aids. Still on going!!!!”
“Shocking service absolutely unacceptable treatment, false information, will never use boots again. Your treatment of the elderly with regards to hearing aids is appalling. You and your staff have zero compassion and quick to take deposits then run you through the mill and let the aged down due to your incompetence.”
“Never fitted properly already lost one before we had insurance cost another 2000 pounds still don’t fit properly my wife is very very stressed should have gone to spec savers ha ha”
“Bought 2 Phonk Virto B90-312 hearing aids in 2019 at a Cost £2445.00. Had problems from day one. Loss of sound intermittently in the left aid. Dispite sending for repair on many occasions they don't seem to be able to cure the problem. I would not recommend this product to anyone. The aid has been away for over 3 weeks this time. Can't fault Sarah she has tried Mr Thomasher best to solve the problem”
