“The service was quick and efficient, but I was disappointed in the developing tank: the stainless steel body appeared to be of very high quality, but the plastic lid was not a very good fit, and it leaked on inversion.”

“Looking for a present - Very knowledgeable staff, nothing was too much trouble. I wanted a DSLR but only had a budget for a new lower end model so was prepared to consider a used quality model. After a good 30 minutes I left with a cracking deal which included a DSLR body, grip lens and SD card under budget. Highly recommended I will be back.”

“They are quite knowledgeable and helped me with making the right decision. It was no problem to try out different bodies and lenses. They offer competitive prices so pretty happy with my purchase, would buy from them again!”

“Great service, friendly staff and speedy delivery. My only issue, and the reason I did not give 5 stars, relates to the identity confirmation process I had to go through before the order could be accepted. This was after and independent from payment by credit card and was designed to prevent fraud. Very commendable in principle but the questions I was asked to answer over the phone provided just the sort of information a fraudster would seek. An uncomfortable situation which a manger at Calumet said he would take up.”

“I had a bit of a wait at the counter as all the staff were busy. When I was served, which in reality was probably only after a five minute wait, the guy at the counter was great. Turns out we're both fans of the Fuji X series and in fairness he didn't have a very difficult job selling me an XT-10! I just wanted to have a first hand look at the camera before forking out eight big ones for it. The chap spent a good amount of time explaining the features of the camera to me and even threw in a little extra when we agreed the sale. I much prefer to buy these kind of goods from an actual shop rather than on-line as I know if there are any issues I can just go back and speak to someone face to face, rather than having to cough up postage etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Calumet to anyone who cares about photography.”

“Dissappointed that my account had been put on hold - it seems I hadn't used it in the last 2 years - however I had used it for the previous 30 odd years so should have been informed - I could have been put in a difficult situation if I'd needed to buy some equipment in a hurry – these PR reviews give a great semblance of humanity but it needs to go a tad further”

“My only criticism is that the advert offers a discount but when you book the course there appears to be no mechanism for applying the discount, so at the moment I have paid the full price for the course. I am sure this can be sorted out.”

“great customer service at Calumet as always. on this occasion I purchased a paper background roll and a replacement spigot. The price was a little higher for the spigot compared to an online price. I wanted to buy some replacement screws from my lighting stands but it seems you don't stock them either.”

“Friendly helpful assistance with regard to Portra 5x4 film. This stuff has got expensive! Had short discussion about this and how to load the film (which none of us were sure about.) Still the best supplier.”

“The two guys I dealt with were very nice, particularly the one when I made the first purchase. I also dealt with a customer service rep online. The website is still crappy and searches are still difficult though- even for your own staff members. I wanted a cord for a pocket wizard to a flash and that was not going to happen.”

“My experience with Calumet (W1) branch, was very good. When I came into the shop and asked for a particular new Canon prime lens, the man behind the counter knew what it was. He also asked if required a filter which was nice. Overall, left a happy bunny with the new purchase and will comeback to Wardour Street outlet.”
