“Great customer service via email. The lady acknowledged the hiccup due to system error and issued me the refund immediately. And thanks. The report itself however is not what it used to be and that's due to several factors, one being not every shop/dealership shares info with Carfax also not every minor damage or accident is reported either. One thing they can improve and it is within the company's reach, more accurate vehicle information as far as equipment and all..”

“Your service lacks an ability for a person to account for improvements made to a vehicle. Example, a stock Jeep Wrangler is worth a stock price, I agree. But If I am holding receipts for professionally installed complete suspension lifts, custom front and back bumpers, winch, 283.00 custom 20 inch wide wheels and then new 305 oversized off road tires, LED lights, Computer performance enhancements...we get nothing. That allows buyers to take advantage of sellers with beautifully set up Jeeps..That are in demand.”

“Saved me from buying a car that had previous damage on it where the seller was being untruthful about. He also proclaimed to be the 3rd owner when there were actually 5. Well worth the cost.”

“CarFax markets itself as the "credit report" for cars. I found out the hard way! I bought a car with a good CarFax report then 2 years later when I tried to sell it, there were 2 damage reports from PRIOR to me purchasing the car. I contacted CarFax and they were no help, just saying they couldn't disclose who added that info to the CarFax report and would not remove it.”

“I was purchasing a used vehicle and needed to know if it was worth my hard earned dollars or not. IT WASNT! After getting the VIN from the previous owner I was able to run a carfax and see that the car had been totaled due to a T-bone collision. The seller had told me that the total-loss was due to something other than this. I’m glad I didn’t just jump in and buy it without checking first. THANKS CARFAX!!!”

“I had purchased a CarFax before I bought my car. It was clean. 12 months later I discovered that an accident had occurred with the previous owner over 2 years earlier but had not been recorded on the CarFax! Had I known this I would have been able to negotiate a much better price (if I bought the car at all). As it is, it is now devalued for when I sell it myself. The long delay in getting and/or posting that accident info has convinced me not to trust CarFax in the future. I had no recourse with the dealer.”
