“CarFax helped me make a well informed car purchase. I found a 2010 Mercedes ML550 and a 2011 ML550. While the 2011 had more miles I was able to read the CarFax maintenance entries for it. The previous owner performed all scheduled maintenance at their local Mercedes dealership. The entries listed services done including tires, new rotors, etc. With this information it was easy to determine the 2011 with higher miles was the better deal.”

“So many people lie about mileage and how many owners its ridiculous, and with carfax you get the straight truth. Thanks carfax saved us from looking at a lot of waisted cars and trucks.”

“When I was purchasing a car for my only child, running a car fax report saved me from purchasing a bad car three times. One time a seller was trying to sell me a car where the odometer read 100k miles less than the car fax report and the other two times the sellers did not disclose the vehicles were involved in accidents. Car Fax helped me tremendously in purchasing a vehicle not only at the right value but a safe vehicle for my daughter. Thank you CAR FAX”

“The 2012 Ford F 250 King Ranch was exactly as described in the Car Fax review. I would not buy a vehicle from anyone, without first getting a Car Fax review.”

“I purchased a car for my teenager after much research. Had it checked out by an auto mechanic and was satisfied that the car was fine. After purchasing the car I proceeded to the local MVD to get it registered only to find out that the title should have been Salvage! Yikes! Back to the seller I go who tells me they did not know there was a 'problem' with the title and that they no longer have the money to cancel the sale. "Go ahead and sue me" they say - lovely. A CarFax would have stopped this at the beginning without all the stress.”

“I had researched and looked for my Lexus for months. Finally I found one at the right price but that made me cautious. It didn't have a carfax, the dealer used another service but it wasn't very thorough. I bought and ordered the carfax which showed the previous owner was meticulous in service on the car since new. I was so happy and bought the car which I love. I love the app you all offer for keeping track of what's done and needs to be done on each vehicle. It is easy to use and I really love it. “I always buy used cars, always with low mileage but I am very very picky about what car I purchase. I will typically search for a car for a couple of months, checking the on-line used car websites every day. Eventually, I figure out exactly what I want, right down to the year, color, options, etc, and have a good feel for where the price should be. Then I set my search for nationwide, and just wait for a good buy. When one pops up, I run the Carfax, and then negotiate by telephone. When the deal is done, I fly out, sometimes across the country, buy the car and drive it home. I have always gotten a good car, and it is primarily the Carfax background check that gives me the confidence to fly across the country on a one-way airline ticket, buy a car for cash and drive it several thousand miles home. I have bought cars in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland, Texas, and San Diego and driven them back to the San Francisco Bay Area using this approach. I wouldn't be doing it without the confidence that comes from CarFax.”

“I seen a 1991 Mazda miata with 107k miles for sell I've been burned twice on that certain site so I figured I check the car fax first I ran the car fax for the license plate, the owner wouldn't give me the Vin number unless I was there the owner said it wasn't nessary to run a car fax so of course being burnt twice I ran it what I found out has saved me 3,000 dollars I risked the cost of one report to save thousands, thank you car fax,the car had 300k miles with failed smog multiple times and wrong odometer reading”

“It was so great to know the history of vehicles I was considering for purchase. It made it so I didn't have to run around gathering info. Called dealership got vin number ran history report and bam, answers.”

“We were in the market for a car to replace a 22 year old truck. One day, while out of town for a sports event, we saw the car we thought we wanted for sale at the side of the road. It looked to be in pretty good shape and drove well. It had a few minor issues including a missing dash piece that the seller assured us was missing due to being cracked (a common issue with this type of car) and a replacement had been order and was on its way. The rest of the issues seemed minor and so we thought this was the one. To be sure, I downloaded the CarFax app on my phone and purchased a plan and checked the car's VIN. A quick scan of the results seemed to indicate everything was ok and so we decided to agree on a price and purchase it. We had the cash to buy it right then but the owner didn't have the title with him. Long story short, we agreed on the price and he was going to deliver the car after the weekend and we would pay then. We drove home a little disappointed that we weren't in the "new" car but looking forward to seeing it again in a couple of days. When we got home, I logged onto the CarFax website to read a few more details about the vehicle. As I read closer, it turns out I had overlooked one thing - the odometer had been rolled back about 30,000 miles! Needless to say, I got in touch with the seller right away and let him know this wasn't the one for us and said a prayer of thanks for CarFax. As we had purchased the "Unlimited" plan, we were able to check out a few other cars before eventually finding a winner. While the cost of that plan made us hesitate initially, we definitely got our money's worth from it in that first experience and are thankful for this great car-shopping service.”

“From my experience with reviewing carfax information on other cars I was interested in, most had a history of accidents, frame damage and I felt like it protected me from buying a car that would not be in the best interests for me. Thankyou carfax.”

“I was looking for a good deal on the 2014 Kia Sedona's. I counldn't find any locally, so I went on CarFax and found one in Leesburg, Virgina. I called and made an appoinment with the dealership. When, I arrived at Dallus Kia, the salesman was very experienced and showed the vehicle to me. They only had two left the LX/EX. I decided to buy the EX because of the extras on it. The salesman made a good deal to me and I purchased the vehicle. The process of buying the vehicle was a very good experience from being to end. This would not have been possible without CarFax.”

“My wife and I were set to buy a Honda CR-V in excellent condition and priced well. We drove it and something didn't feel quite right. Upon returning to the dealership we asked to see the Carfax and it showed the vehicle had been in an accident and had FRAME DAMAGE. Carfax saved us big time on that deal and we walked away. Now, i wont even look at a used car until I have seen the Carfax.”

“We set out to buy a C5 Corvette and saw several that we ended up steering clear of after seeing wrecks in the history. We ended up buying a higher mileage one without accidents in its history and couldn't be happier with the car. On a side note, the VIN limit on the "unlimited" plan really hurt us when we were looking at smaller, independent dealerships that didn't subscribe to Carfax. Please don't call it unlimited if there limits.”

“Carfax saved me from a bad purchase! I was about to privately buy a dodge magnum that supposedly had about 70k miles on it. Carfax showed me the truth: it had over 200k miles! What a save! Thank you!”

“I was looking at a Porsche 944s2 Cab. It seemed to be a good price, great looking car, then I pulled a Carfax. The car was totaled 2 years ago, the title was washed. I did not purchase the car. Carfax saved me lots of money.”
