“I used CarFax to help me widdle down a list of about 6 Camaro's I was not local to down to 2 vehicles. Although it doesn't provide all of the details, Carfax is a good jumping off point when looking for a used car.”

“The site is very fruitfull for car buyers and shoppers. however recently, i haven't been able to open the offficial CARFAX site from where I am in the middle east. Is it something related to location or is the site having some problems generally?”

“My report was very detailed and current. Ii was able to follow the entire life of the car I purchased. I it's service records, ownership lineage, and if there were any title issues (there were none.) It even showed my recent visits since my purchase. I would recommend unlimited VIN searches since my prospective cars didn't have license plates. I also thought the price was high but other sites didn't give as much info so that could be expected. Hope for a better VIN search package.”

“We set out to buy a C5 Corvette and saw several that we ended up steering clear of after seeing wrecks in the history. We ended up buying a higher mileage one without accidents in its history and couldn't be happier with the car. On a side note, the VIN limit on the "unlimited" plan really hurt us when we were looking at smaller, independent dealerships that didn't subscribe to Carfax. Please don't call it unlimited if there limits.”

“Had been looking for a truck for quite a while. I was looking for a use pick up with some use but had been pampered. and found one on ebay. runs great everthing carfax said had beed done to it was correct. thank you for your help carfax”

“I didn't know if carfax is that help full, I bought a car from a dealer after a couple of days I decided to check the carfax of the car guess what I found out the car was salvage I took the car back to the dealer and I got my money back. It is really a piece of mine...”

“I used CARFAX to become informed on 5 different Corollas offered by Driver's Mart. I lived 300 miles away, so I needed to inquire before I made the trip. Furthermore, these cars didn't stay on the lot very long. When I got my info together including CARFAX reports on each vehicle, I went and purchased the vehicle.”

“Was shopping for a used truck. After 10 years in Illinois, you no longer need to give odometer information. Well, 3 out of 4 trucks I checked had odometers rolled back 50-150k miles! Pricing plans are a little hokey. 1 for $39.99 or 5 for $49.99???? Or, unlimited "license plate checks for $54.99? A plate can be quickly switched or go missing. I wouldn't trust a license plate check on a purchase”

“Im a college student who really needed a daily driver. I was doing what every typical college student with a tight budget does and looked up a car on craigslist. There i found a very nice looking Honda for a cheap price, so i contacted him and asked if the car is in good working condition, if it was in a collision, did it have a clean title, etc. He said everything was perfect. But i still had a weird feeling so i went on CARFAX and did a report on the car and it turned out the car had about 100,000 more miles than what the owner said, it did not have a clean title, and it was involved in a collision! I am very glad i did the report and if it wasnt for CARFAX i would honestly have a junk car right now, and my hard earned money in the trash. Thanks CARFAX”

“I used carfax to check on a car that we were looking at for our daughter. the previous owner was very honest with us about the car . We just wanted some piece of mind before turning our daughter loose in this car. We found out that the car was a very good deal and the owner told us the complete truth about this car.”

“A very quick and efficient way to find out if the car has a clean title, mileage accuracy, any wrecks and hopefully the major service items that have been done to the car. Also all of the owners and where they lived. This is important when you want to make sure the car was not from a flood area, rust belt area or in a high humidity area that may shorten the life of the car. I also look for the least amount of owners, generally the fewer the more likely the car was a good one and taken car of. So this makes for a really fast and easy way to sort out the bad ones from the good ones before spending the time to go look at a car before purchasing.”

“I always saw the ads for "CarFax" and figured they were a reputable business. Recently my eye caught a particular 4-WD vehicle in a neighbors drive-way, with the usual placard attesting to the "Yr., Mileage., and in general, "Hype-to-set-the-hook". I wrote down the Vin# and said "Time to utilize CAR-FAX!" Lo' and behold...the information supplied by CAR-FAX not only confirmed the "B.S." being presented by this seller, but it also showed that the seller was trying to pass off a 1989 model, as a 1997!!!!! Imagine that! So, Thanks Car-fax my paltry investment with you saved me Beaucoup $ and time not wasted." Mark D. Schevling”

“We had already been to a competitor and were turned off by the " double teaming" procedure that they employed. We knew what make and type of vehicle we were looking for but we were not familiar with any other dealers in GA as we are from Philadelphia. Our son recommended CARMAX since he had bought 2 cars from CARMAX, a Corvette and a Lexus. From the beginning of the process, we were more than impressed by the way our quest for an automobile was handled. Let me say that I literally hate car shopping. We met our sales rep, Wanda Mosely, at the door and although I was on the defense and ready to walk away at any moment, Wanda's attitude was unlike any car sale rep that we had ever encountered. There was no pressure at all. We sat at a computer terminal and found several vehicles to our liking, inspected them but none impressed us. We went on to select one from a remote location. It was delivered to the Kennesaw store within 48 hours. After test driving it we decided to purchase it. 2 or 3 days later the vehicle lost all power during a shopping trip. We immediately called the dealership, spoke with Wanda who had the car towed in. We subsequently found that there was a transmission problem. In the meantime Wanda had already begun to look for a similar vehicle, which she found at a more remote location, in the event that we decided to reject vehicle one, which we ultimately did. We were satisfied with the trade in value offered us for two cars. I would and have recommended Carmax to others and would purchase another Carmax vehicle myself.”
