“The worse experience ever encountered with a car rental. We got out cars totally fuel empty, being afraidof not reaching the gas station to fill, and after they secured the deposit - 2 MONTHS AGO! - we still didnt get our money back. Emailed customer service, got a single reply out of 3 complaints, and after that complete silence. So its definitely a scam, and the way they treat the business and customers is a total disgrace, absolutely disgusted with the whiole experience. We decided to forward the whole issue to our lawyers, and go full on with it, i strongly recommend to everyone to do the same, companies like this do not deserve to stay alive.”
“I prepaid a rental through Carjet in February for a pickup in Debrovnik in June 2023. My flight from Western Europe to Croatia was delayed and I missed the connecting flight. The flight was booked the next day, so I contacted Carjet before my rental period started asking for a one day later reservation pickup. Since the reservation was prepaid, I did not ask for any refund. I sent Carjet a text and submitted on online request. Unfortunately, Carjet doesn’t provide an easy was to contact them, which should have been a red flag.
When I arrived the following day, the car company Ok Mobility said Carjet did not make a reservation for the following day and they had no cars available. The only contact info on my Carjet contract was with Ok Mobility, so there was no easy way to contact Carjet. The only option was through the carjet website. By the way, Carjet responded yo my request on July 5, 8 full days after I contacted them with an automated response that they would get back to me. Ha, extremely unhelpful!
I would recommend to anyone to avoid Carjet like the plague.”

There is no number to call, or email just a form you fill out on their website. I have explained i want them to cancel 1 order as I only requested 1. They just keep sending me a cancel your booking link, & then when you look it states the merchant will charge you 94 to cancel. I then again filled out the form & explained to them that i did not request 2 cars but they just keep sending me the cancel my booking form. I am flabbergasted”
“Very poor - we arrived at Faro Airport and went to our car hire company - Klass Wagen, where I was told that we could not use my credit card as it had an abbrieviation on it - I tried to explain that this was my initial and not an abbreviation, to no avail - the only way around this, I was told, was to take their fully comp insurance, costing 250 euros! Due to timing issues, I had no coice but to take this option, despite having my own policy, purchased in England for this and guess what.. they were happy to take the 250 from the same credit card with the 'abbreviation' on it!!! Out of 4 groups in the office athe other 3 left as disgusted as me, to look for alternative rentals - it was an absolute con and we had no phone number to sort this out with Carjet - very frustrating, costly - never to be used again!”
“Terrible customer service. Booked a car in Kos through through Carjet called Abbycars. Booked at 10.30 and arrived 1. Told there was no car available as past their 1 hour arrival slot and they had cancelled my booking. No refund for the car or insurance, Eur260. This is an unacceptable condition and Carjet did nothing to try and mediate a solution with the hire company. They had a lot of cars outside their office. Even refuse to let me use their phone. I waited 40 minutes on hold to Carjet to be told the terms and conditions were that the car was held for 1 hour. The car rental was advertised as being at the airport when in fact it was a 5 to 10 minute walk from the airport….I will pursue this in the small claims court and write to the Daily Mail. Please avoid Carjet at all costs.”
“Won't answer email. They would not give us the car we hired as the booking was made in my daughter's name ,but paid for in my name. Their rep said booking had to be in same name, but they were quite happy to take my money when booking was made. Rep said if we paid an extra £230 we could have the car even though the driver and card payer were still in different names???Tried to cancel at the airport ,
rep kept saying he would keep it open incase we changed our minds. Phoned car jet to cancel and were told by them it was too late to cancel as we were past our pick up time. Our plane was delayed by over an hour, they were given our plane booking details so should have been aware of the delay . Would steer clear of this company, they'll take your money but service is appalling”

Don't think you will save money. If you're not super careful and land with the wrong scam company that Carjet will book for you, there's areally good chance, you will pay 2.5-3 times, what you thought you would pay.

“The saga continues. I booked a car and no where I'm the booking process did it say digital licenses not accepted. Including the terms and conditions. I booked a car for 265 pounds and and after the booking confirmation it tells you you need physical license. I rang and asked the car dealer e digital license or wattsapp call to my husband who had my physical license in Australia to show online and they said no I'm sorry you have to cancel the booking. I was charged 230 pounds for this depsite canceling within 15 min of the booking! When I asked for this to be reconsiderd, in typical corporate speak, I'm sorry but you accepted the cancellation policy. No recognition that I had no choice but to accept the cancellation and provided with no alternatives such as credit note. I have had a really bad experience with any third party booking agent and would not recommend. They will always find a way to make money out of you. I just don't think a 48 hrs cancellation policy can apply to a booking made 1 hr prior to pick up..we have issued latter of demand and taking this to smaller claims court. I am tired of corporations constantly taking money for no services rendered.”

We had a horrendous experience with car jet. I booked in January for a June trip. I made an amendment in April and the confirmation told me that I saved a approx €180, I’ve never received that refund.
Now forward on to June… We arrive in Nimes airport to collect our car and my husband couldn’t find his license. We produced a digital photograph of it but they wouldn’t accept. Okay, we take responsibility for this, our mistake, our bad.
We had to leave that day with nothing, taking a €270 taxi trip.
We tried to get a refund but they said no. Very upsetting given we paid €820 and still had a lot of expenses ahead of us.
We contacted our department of transport to see if they could help. They said they would issue a certificate to verifying his license number and the photographs of license, that it corresponds to a valid Irish driving license.
Carjet would not accept the government certificate. Ridiculous and extremely stressful on us.
Meanwhile plan no. 2, we got a courier to deliver out my drivers license from Ireland to France.
Carjet would not allow us to change the name on the rental. This was so infuriating. They have our €820, we have moved to a plan B, invested time and energy and yet they wouldn’t allow us to alter the name. It was even booked with my email address etc…
We spoke to a rep in Hertz and they stated that they don’t charge the rental fee to franchises for ‘no shows’ which we would be classified as so they don’t even have the outlay.
Plan C: we asked if we could make a new booking, and if they could credit us. No.
Discount us? No.
We are in France as I write this, they have ruined our holiday and caused such additional stress on what is already a stressful situation… we need a car so we now have to pay for a second rental.
Yes, we were in the wrong for misplacing the license but we since came up with 3 very reasonable alternatives, none of which they would even consider.

“Totally unsatisfied. I book a car for Paphos. By pick up the car they want deposit 1000€. I had no problem with it and I want to pay it with my debit cards. It was not accepted. Only credit card was possible. I dont have credit card, but my co-driver had credit card. We want to pay deposit from his card and change the driver if necessary. It was not possible. They want extra fee for it 130€ (ad kind of insurance). Booking of the car was 180€. Car Jet was not accomodating. They want only additional money. I can not recomend it.”
“Paid a deposit for a car in Turkey. Arrived in Turkey and no car was made available. Contacted the local hire company only to be told that if I wanted a car I’d have to pay €700. The initial quotation from Carjet was just under €300. So, I received no car, and my deposit gone.”

You book a car through Carjet, they hire a partner car rental abroad which charges extra costs. Discussing or not paying the "extra costs" is useless, otherwise they will not give you the car at the pickup location. Often the Pickup location is not exactly at the airport. So they will pick you up and drive you to their office somewhere else. Either you pay or you dont have a car in the middle of nowhere. Of course, the extra costs come up only after you have paid the deposit. Complaining doesn't help either. You know you get scammed but still can
t get out of it. Carjet claims they demand a statement from their partner. If they simply do not answer, you also get no money back. CarJet will hang up on you if you call more than once.
You can read the scam quite often.

On 19th April 2023 I booked a car with B-RENT via CARJET. At the time of the booking I paid 270 EUR with a DEBIT CARD ISSUED ON MY NAME AS REQUESTED BY THE COMPANY / POLICY. On the 1st June 2023 after a long trip we finally made it to Cagliari airport, sure that we are going to have our car. However, upon pickup, the booking was refused, because we did not have a credit card. So, even though CARJET, on behalf of B-RENT was only too happy to charge the deposit on my DEBIT card, the very same card was refused by B-RENT employee for payment completion, saying they only accepted credit cards (?!) - I want to stress here that my card had enough money to cover the booking and the holding safety deposit for the car.
Now, I can't help but thinking that this lack of consistency is misleading and fraudulent to say the least. If you accept my debit card (i.e. you charge me 270 EUR in April) then you can't refuse that very same card at pick up (2 months afterwards). I couldn't help but notice, that the two (very unfriendly) agents at the desk were arguing with every client there, and for some flimsy reason or another, were refusing cars to everyone.
Morale of the story, CARJET ROBBED US OF 270 EUR and left me and my partner without a car, stranded on the airport even though I had booked my car 2 months in advance. Thank God we didn't have a child with us!
A special mention goes to MARIA, THE DESK AGENT - she was rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and unable to own up TO THE COMPANY'S FAULT. It is hard for me believe that this is not A SCAM, where they charge people for their deposits, but then don’t release the cars.
P.S. I attempted to call customer service but absolutely nothing was done at their end, actually cutting off my call halfway through!!

“Booked and paid for car then realised my flight would land one day later so I thought I loose the 1st days hire ...I wasn't told the location of carjet by email so sent them an email..4 days before flying to Gatwick...no reply on this email ....on arrival found the rental company and they expressed that I was one day late and wouldn't receive refund and they had cancell my insurance also without refund...I said where is my car as I had hired for a week and surely it should be waiting for me as I had been charged..same as a hotel room can't double rent..the operative said the agent carjet was responsible...I asked to talked to them on the phone..he said do I speak Spanish then .from that answer I knew they were both on the scam..he works everyday with this company and know they speak fluent English ..not regulated in UK so can't have there licence revoked..I had to pay for an extra car and when I expressed I didn't need there excess insurance I was asked to leave 1400 GBP I went to pay with a debit card not accepted only credit card so opted for. There half insurance which they asked to deposit 400 GBP ...but get this...this time accepted my debit card... really...the law needs to change with these cowboy renters..”
