They cancelled our rental as a no show even though we had adjusted the details via their website. They then rebooked at an additional 800gbp Will not reply to emails Avoid this dodgy company

I reserved a VW T-ROC (or similar) in the carjet.com site. To get the car, I was redirected to the Sur Price agency close to Porto Airport. After registration, they brought a Dacia Sandero to me. VW T-ROC is a premium SUV, that costs about 3 times the Sandero. T-ROC has adaptative cruise control with radar, lane assist, blind spot warning, rain sensor (turns wipers on automatically), night sensor (turns lights on automaticallly), disk breaks in all whells, dual zone air conditioner with temperature control, and a 445L trunk besides lots of other things. A new T-ROC in Portugal starts at 28 thousand euros. Sandero is a basic car, with no one of these features, and a 328L trunk, that was not enough to my needs. A new Sandero can be bought by around 10 thousand euros. They're not similar at all! When I tried to say that something was wrong, that I reserved a car that was far from what was being delivered, the attendant started shouting at me, saying that was that car or nothing. That I was calling him a liar by saying that the car I reserved was to much different from that one. I tried to show him in the internet the differences but he didn't want even to hear me or look at the cars at the internet in my phone. He standed that I would take that car or no car at all. I needed the car for that moment. I couldn't stay without a car. So, leaving without a car was not possible for me. On the other hand, the trunk was much smaller. So, the only option I had was paying even more to receive a Renault Clio, that was an SW with a trunk bigger than the Sandero's. But this car was even worse than the Sandero. It has no parking sensors, no Android auto, no electric rear windows, smells nicotine like hell... It's the worst car I've drove in all my life. I tried to call carjet, but they make you stay hours listening to music on the phone. When they finally answer, they said they coud not do anything, and they transfered to Sur Price Porto, that never answered the call. And, if they answered, probably they would keep the same position they had from the beginning: a 30 thousand car is - according to their rules - similar to a 10 thousand car... I've rent more than 10 cars in Portugal in the last months. This one was for sure the worst, the most unrespectfull experience at all.

Do not use this car hire firm, no contact by either email or phone. Extra costs at pick up due to the insurance sold by Carjet is not a car insurance but a personal insurance. Car jet quoted £144, I had to pay £336 with Goldcar's insurance and taxes. I will not use this company again and hope if you read this you also don't. If I could give less than one star i would!! Just go direct to a main steam car rental.

Carjet deserve a zero star. Terrific company. Based in Spain and it’s hard to reach them on the phone. When you do they ll keep you on hold for almost an hour and exhausted your international call limit. They claim to issue vouchers that are not redeemed by their car rental partners. Stay away from them for your own good.

Stay away from this website. I booked a rental car ( CJT-44797617 ) and while i was modify the booking I canceled it by mistake. But I contacted them right away and they didn’t reinstate the booking even though the actual company was ok to reinstate but Carjet didn’t want to reinstate! It costed me 268 euros! Please stay away! Go and book your car from the actual renters!

Terrible service! Arrived for them to tell me that they’d cancelled my car & I had to pay more for a more expensive car. Then they wouldn’t take my card, so had to pay £210 extra for their insurance despite having already taken out the Platinum Excess Waiver (who didn’t re-imburse me). Got a flat tire & no-one’s answering their phone to let me know what to do. Rubbish repair kit in the boot that doesn’t work.

I made a booking with Carjet on March 15, 2022. Next day I had to cancel the booking due to family circumstances. The bill was 510, I got refunded the next day 139 but till now (May 9, 2022) not received the remaining 371 pounds. Car jet cannot be reached, no phone, no email...

Last week I was on holiday in Portugal and due to a credit card issue I was unable to receive the car at the pick-up location. I had made and paid online reservation. Spoke to the employee of Carjet and she would cancel the rental and make sure I get my money back. I was supposed to be notified by email, but I haven't heard anything yet. I called Carjet today and after 45 minutes I finally got someone on the phone. She pointed out to me the conditions that I was too late with canceling and that's why I don't get a refund, then she just hangs up! What rudeness and bad customer service, when in Portugal I canceled over the phone before the rental period started and the employee would take it further. There is also no possibility to send an email and call again with a huge waiting time with the risk of being hung up again immediately. I wanted to say this to the Carjet.com that I don't think you can treat customers like this!!

Can you do something to give my money back?

DO NOT USE THEM !!! If I could I would give them no stars!!! I was on vacation in Portugal, made a reservation. They switch dates for the next day, car was not available. When I called they didn't wanted to change it, switch car, said I will loose 350 Euros if I cancel. Had to go to Europecar directly. They also took 28 Euros for premium insurance I did not have. When I called they didn't returned money because I did not call 24h before. Customer service is horrible, at the end she hang up the phone on me!!! DO NOT USE THEM !!!!!

What a bunch of scammers. PLEASE DONT USE THEM !!!! You've been warned. We arrived at Edinburgh where there is no office just an intercom to talk to them in a major noisy car park. They demanded more proof of our address before we could have the car. Wanted paper copies of utility bills. Do you take them on holiday with you? We certainly don't. Refused to give us the car, which we never saw anyway,not sure it even existed. They were happy to take the money and not refund as WE didn't cancel in time. They cancelled it not us. No one answers phone or replies to emails. If you look at website they state they solve 82% of problems. If the reviews here are the other 18% there must be an awful lot of complaints. Do yourself a favour go somewhere else. There must be some sort of recourse to the scammers.

It was a big mess between Carjet, the operator and the customer. Got wrong pickup location, I was also not informed that somebody feom Europcar would pick me up at the airport and once my card was not accepted (which was my fault) and they didn't take Revolut Visa debit card I couldn't rent the car, I didn't get money back and there was nobody at Carjet to help you with anything. Broker to avoid!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY YOU ARE NOT COVERED BY THEIR INSURANCE THAT YOU TAKE OUT WITH THEM EVEN IF YOUR PAPERWORK STATES 100% COVERED AND THE €15.66 QUOTED TO PAY ON ARRIVAL ENDED UP BEING €33.19 PLUS €77 FOR DEPOSITO COMBUSTIBLE AND A FURTHER DEPOSIT OF €1100.00 AS I REFUSED TO PAY AGAIN FOR CAR HIRE AND INSURANCE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS NOT PAID FOR EVEN THOUGH CARJET HAVE TAKEN €144.40 FROM MY CREDIT CARD AND THAT THE HIRE COMPANY - GOLDCAR HAD NOT RECEIVED THE PAYMENT. I STUCK TO MY GUNS AND REFUSED TO PAY, YOU WILL NEED TO BE THE SAME OR JUST DON’T USE CARJET IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY MAY LOOK CHEAPER, BUT WHEN YOU GO TO COLLECT YOUR CAR YOU WILL BE CHARGED EXTRA. JUST GO DIRECT WITH A CAR HIRE COMPANY - NEVER AGAIN, AND WE WERE NOT THE ONLY ONES TODAY HAVING THR SAME ARGUMENT

Scammers. Double charge insurance, lets the customer take all the risk and marketed a car (size) on their website that wasn't available when we arrived at the local renter. Appalling!
