I decided to try Chewy's pharmacy department for the first time, simply to order some flea and tick medication for my pet. The process started off smoothly—I placed the order and received an email within 24 hours confirming my vet's approval. However, a week later, my order was still stuck in "preparing for shipment" status. I called that morning and spoke with an agent who assured me they would expedite the order. By the end of the business day, there was no change—it was still in the same status. I then reached out via chat support and was told that I needed to verify my shipping address and that the order was still waiting for vet approval, even though that had supposedly already been handled earlier that same day. Frustrated, I asked to cancel the order. I was told it was too late to do so, but after insisting, I was eventually informed that the order was canceled. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I was left feeling like there was a lack of communication and urgency on their end.

We placed a medication order to the house we were moving to. So pur dogs would be covered when we got there. It never showed up and after calling to verify they told me they'd expedite my order, instead they canceled it! A week later, we still have not received our refund of almost $300! They didn't like that we had a different address. Or that I placed the order with my husband's card. The customer service guy could have e asked about these things instead he lied to me and screwed us over. We are NEVER shopping at Chewy again!

They sell a pet door made by Ruff Weather. It is advertised that it fits a door or wall up to 7 inches. As they sell it, it does not fit a wall. On the box in big letters (which nobody ever read - they just put up on their website what the manufacturer tells them the rep said when I called) it states that a kit must be purchased to use on a wall. The Chewy rep had not idea where to get it, how much it costs. I just had to spend $53 DOLLARS MORE TO GET THIS KIT.

Extremely frustrating website experience. As a guest, you're only allowed to add one gift card—and once it's added, it gets locked to that guest session. If you back out or don’t complete the purchase, the gift card remains tied to that temporary guest account. After creating a full account, that same gift card can’t be transferred or used, essentially making it unusable. I've spent over a month trying to resolve this issue with Chewy customer service, with no success so far.

I had previously made several orders from chewy. I made another order on a Friday and was told my order would be delivered in one to three days. After four days I found out they had blocked my delivery and never bothered to inform me of such.

I am so sick and tired of the promise to deliver 1 to 3 days and not doing it. Twice I ordered dog food to have it delivered 5 or more days out. They cost more than Sam's club but I thought paying a little more it would be delivered faster but no. When I called they say they are sorry and then give me 20 to 40 dollars off next order. Now I do not want anymore off just to have my dog food delivered like they say 1 to 3 days. I am going back to Sam's club at least I know what to expect from them. GOOD BYE CHEWY!!!

First my order was delayed. When I asked about it they wanted too much personal info, when I had the order number. Then, they cancelled. So, I got charged and no product. Not using chewy again.

They charged an expired and changed card. Completely illegal. Won’t refund. Just lie and say they will. FRAUDULENT practices. I used to love and recommend to Everyone. No more.

If I could rate them “0” stars, I would. For years I have contacted Chewy about their Shipping Department because I received goods that are damaged because of the way the shipping department packs them. If you have a big order, it is packed in one big box that is so heavy you cannot lift it. So, you unpack it in front of your house. Today I received another order that the product was damaged! I will no longer do business with Chewy. Gary E.

During the last week of December 2024 I purchased a 15 lb bag of Lyric peanuts on Chwy site for $32.99-bird peanuts not human consumption peanuts! Just went to reorder, the Chewy price is now $42.99!!!!! So in 6 weeks Chewy has raised the price of junk peanuts $10; I live in Manhattan, one of the most expensive palces in the country and can get human grade peanuts at Trader Joes for less than the Chewy price WHAT A RIP OFF CHEWY! I'll be buying this item elsewhere

Chewy.com is fine with regular food and litter orders. I've used them for years with no problems. But I'm warning people about their pharmacy orders. Hard to describe the mess I've been dealing with for the past two weeks. My old cat's kidney disease food--a prescription product--needed to be started as soon as possible. To speed things up I actually called the order in. For some weird reason the representative I talked to created a "profile" of her and mistakenly typed in that she was a dog. Even though I was specifically ordering cat food and a couple of other products for cats. So when they contacted my vet for the official prescription information everything got screwed up because of this misinformation. When we realized there was a problem I contacted them numerous times (I have the call log on my phone to prove it). My vet contacted them several times, also, and even talked at length with one of the "supervisors". Each contact we were assured that they'd fixed the problem and the order would be sent out. But time kept passing and in this morning's email they told me the order had been cancelled. They said they hadn't gotten confirmation from the vet. This was a bald-faced lie. This was a time-sensitive issue and their screw-up has caused my poor cat to become more ill. I won't be dealing with this company again.

I ordered a Java bird tree stand for $500. The item is defective and will not go together. Now the branch is stuck on and can’t be removed. Chewy customer service told me to go to Walmart and get two large boxes and cut them and tape them together to send it back since it won’t fit in the original box. Really????? I WILL NEVER ORDER FRIM THEM AGAIN

Ordered a product. Saw a short time later it was much less. They said could not cancel the order but said a difference in price would be given once it shipped. It is 24 hrs in shipping, no rebate, no email, nothing. So item will be shipped right back for full refund once I get it. Nuf said.

They ship with FedEx or Ontrac. For where I live they opt for Ontrac which has a history of marking packages as delivered without actually delivering them. So naturally my last two packages disappeared. Taking my business elsewhere since Chewy doesn't let you choose shipping methods or carriers.

They sent me a card for my dogs birthday with a 20% off any purchase. When I tried to redeem they claimed is was only special purpose. This company sucks. Either offer a deal or not but they really annoyed me after 20 years of loyalty and 4 dogs. Switch and bait. Sleazeball marketing. Corporate greed.

I brought a couple days food with me thinking I can buy the same food in Los Angeles. I found the food on chewy and they required a vet note to buy hypoallergenic (hydrolyzed) dog food. Can you believe this? So I called my vet in France(who is American by the way) and she also wrote the prescription in English. They still denied me dog food for my very hypoallergenic dog. My dog has acid reflux he's been sick most of this trip. My vet in thinks they're running a racket to get seen by a vet in their Network in order to get a prescription for dog food??? If they sell the dog food sell the dog food don't keep it hostage when you offer it online and you offer it. This is awful and now I'm dealing with a dog that has severe acid reflux on vacation visiting my family in Los Angeles. WE HAVE A PRESCRIPTION that I had provided and was denied dog food. These people should be out of business. By the way my parents bought a lot of PRODUCT from them and they are done. Again I have a prescription in English from my vet and they refused it because they want to make more money off of us instead of just selling us dog food for my pet and minding their business. I'm so bummed out. What a complete disappointment.😒

I've been a customer for years. I will never use them again simply because they failed to ship my recurring shipment on time. They told me it was my fault because I didn't change the shipping date due to the holidays. This is an auto ship program. You would think that a company that makes their bread and butter on auto ship would have known Christmas was in December. This particular order processed on Dec 18 and as of Dec. 23 still hasn't shipped. This a 1 day delivery area for them. The distribution center a 35 minute drive away.

Don't waste your money on Chewy. Their costs are beyond what others sell the exact same product. I buy my pet food on ebay for $40, while Chewy sells the same thing for $54.

Tried ordering chicken hemp bedding on a subscription and the proper price wouldn’t show up. Had to call customer service to get the correct price. Website stated it would be delivered in 1 to 3 days. Product hadn’t even shipped after 2 days. Typical excuses given with an apology but it is typical of the way Chewey seems to do business. Once before we kept receiving e-mails stating buy 1get 1 free. Even after showing the e-mails received they wouldn’t honor it. Plus after getting frustrated since the product hadn’t shipped when stated I was able to find it on another site cheaper than the 20 percent discount for adding authorship. The better price is on all shipments not just the 1st. Glad you are so busy but this is one customer you have lost forever.

First order came fine. Second order had all these great discounts and deals and they sent TWO emails needing "verification for shipping" meanwhile the first order came no problem no wait. Fishy and shady and disappointing as I now have to go buy dog food at the store.
